IMEI changing related topics aren't allowed on xda.
Hi,
This falls under rule 9 since for many countries it is illegal to (at least permanently) change a device's IMEI.
The rationale here is simple - a stolen device could be reprogrammed to no longer be on the blacklist and be sold.
Makes me wonder why you need a permanent solution.

not sure if im understanding you correctly but im guessing you want the phone model number to be changed from the one it actually is in the "about phone" section of the settings. if so, i believe its just a build.prop edit. which you need to be rooted to change since it is under system.
Hey everyone.
I'm new to this site and new to posting anything about Androids. I just got into the Android last year.
Please forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong forum.
I have an LG G2 D803 (Rogers Canada). I inherited this at a local auction along with some household junk that I don't need. I tried putting in my SIM card but the IMEI is blacklisted..
The past few days I've been searching the net to figure out how I can fix this but so far no luck. I did find a method that will apparently allow me to write a new IMEI to it which I'm sure many of you are familiar with (QPST, RF NV Item Manager), but I think that's not working for me because that method only works if my phone has no IMEI at all.
My question is: How can i DELETE the IMEI on my phone, and/or make it null/zeros or whatever, so I can write a new IMEI to it? Or, how can I change it altogether? The phone is rooted. I want to use the IMEI of one of my old phones (a Samsung Galaxy S) onto this LG so I can use it. It seems like a great upgrade from my old phone.
Thanks!

Not a good way to start on this site. IMEI tampering and modification is illegal. Please do not discuss this type of activity here.

Hi! I bought an unlocked HTC One M8 in Italy (CID HTC__405). LTE is not working. I'm in Argentina and carriers use bands 4 and 28. The thing is that I read a little guide that came inside the box, and realised that the phone only have bands 3, 7, 8 and 20. So, I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059 and this one too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8/general/lte-band-7-2600mhz-finally-guide-t2992523
I could get my phone recognised by QLST and QXDM, but when I write the new values to 6828 and 6829 and reboot my phone, the values remain like the old ones. I'm right now at SUPERCID and S-OFF. I don't know what to do, please help me!
I want to share also that the original value is 524484, this is 10000000000011000100, that according to the guide means that enabled bands are 2, 6, 7 and 19, and not 3, 7, 8 and 20. So this suggests that band 1 should be position 0 instead of position 1, like the thread says.
I hope you guys can help me,
Thanks!
Lucas

Hi,
I have the same problem.
After the reboot restores the "factory" settings section.
Identical in Section 1877 - written 0 by QXDM later 2307813334319039360 by RF NV Manager and after a reboot returns the value 82314112.
Sections 6828 is the value of 65544, which returns after a reboot
In 6829 sections can edit the value. After the restart does not change, but it does not change anything. I do not have LTE band 3.

This forum is specific to the HTC M8. You should ask in your specific device forums. Hacks for other devices can be harmful to your phone, or might not work anyway.

What do i need to do to make sure that a device think i am using an other device? I want to change my S8+ into a Galaxy Tab S4 or Note9. Is it enough to only change the device model name adb, or do it need to change my imei and my device ID (and if so, how to find something that supports Note9 or S4 yet?)?

Changing the IMEI is illegal in most countries. Therefore discussion surrounding that is prohibited on xda.

Dear Reader!
I want to change IMEI on my Redmi Note 7 device, but none of the apps are working. I have it rooted, and edxposed is installed too (tried sandy hook, and yahfa too). I want to find an expert, who can help me with this, becuase I dont know what is the problem, and I really want to change it. If it helps, I can send the imei changer's log, if it helps.
Best regards!
You will find no help here. Imei changing is illegal in many countries and as such banned on the site.
