LS990 ZVF to ZVG ? - Sprint LG G3

Hello , my LS990 is rooted and twrp installed . I'm currently on 5.01 ZVF . I can't even seem to find any info on ZVF . LG site shows ZVC and then ZVG . I've been having some minor performance and connection issues . I've factory reset and re-provisioned numerous times without any improvement . My wife's LS990 is on ZVG and her's works great . Does anyone know how I could flash the update to ZVG without losing root ? I'm willing to try any modem that would be compatible but my knowledge of LG G3's in limitied . I managed to root mine last year . How can I retrieve the downloaded zvg update from my phone and can I flash it with twrp ? What would happen if I set recovery to read only in Twrp ? Would the update succeed but break root and over write Twrp ? Thanks for any help !!

[Q] Help Req: Updating Rooted/CWM MotoG to Lollipop

Hi,
I have a UK Moto G (2013) running 4.4.4 KitKat and I installed CWM and rooted it some time ago. Now they are pushing out Lollipop OTA I am getting nagged by the phone to update - but, it always fails when I try. Presumably this will be because of the CWM and/or root. I tried a full unroot but that didn't help as CWM kept complaining on the upgrade reboot about something (can't remember what now!). I've read that in order to get the OTA update to work, I have to get the phone completely back to stock, but I can't find a stock ROM and stock recovery for it. Do I have to take it back to stock or not ? Either way, would anyone know how I can get the OTA update to work please ?
At the moment it's back to rooted and CWM recovery.
Any help you could offer would be very gratefully received.
Thanks!

Yes you can root on OF1. I did mine just recently. Use this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-verizon/general/root-of1-t3249971.
Good luck
The last and only way to get root...
THE LAST AND ONLY WAY LEFT FOR ROOTING....VERIZON S4 LOLLIPOP...
Listen guys I think this could be the only chance of rooting s4 i545 0f1 I have tried every single root king/towel root etc etc on pc and phone too but all failed because the main reason is that when ever u try to root it verifies the build/kernel number and when it sees that it's 0f1 It stops working because the new most stable update of lollipop with the build number 0f1 doesn't comes with a unlocked boot loader so that u can install other stuffs just like. I phone specially in version and some other verient it would be a waste of time to try any other methos except this let me explain it did u know a while ago after the release of lollipop some apps were only supported by the 5.0 lollipop or higher when people lowere then lollipop like jelly bean and kitkat tried to download it from play store it said that this vision is not compatible with your devise because the play store decetected the 4.0 version just like king root does with build and kernel and stops but some geeks found the way to solve that by changing the build and krnel to latest version like 5.0 without even effecting system what if we could do the same with the build and kernel member to the previous working one like 0C1 then I think king root and other apps might get to working the reference how to change the kernel and build with out effecting the system is just go to YouTube and type ( fix "your device isn't compatible with this version" ) this will give u the reference for that location and app to change the build and kernel number I haven't tried it yet but if u r on that please reply me but hurry I think this can really work just need some one to test that but hurry... and please do inform back if it really works...c:
OR the other last and only option left would be to downgrade your version s4 i545 kernel = ..... 0F1 to 0C1 kitkat Which is now posible with Oden and then root it then turn it back to lollipop 5.0.1 kernel = .... 0F1 the most stable kernel version out there hope that helped u all .... c: Thanks

Sprint Note 3 downgrade from lollipop to Jellybean pls..

Hello guys, I'm really just trying my luck on finding someone who can help me with this (or at least direct me to a thread or something..)
I've got a Sprint Galaxy Note 3 which is currently working with any network except for a couple of things I want addressed:
*I wanna downgrade back to JellyBean bexause there's an app that I need to be working (yes, it's more important to me than getting the latest android features)
*I wanna keep the phone *carrier-unlocked* (I was told that the phone is factory unlocked, and given that the phone has Sprint branding..it always goes on roaming mode just for it to work where I am (Phillipines), and I wanna fix that.)
So, with that being said, I just need help on where to start and what order should I be following to achieve these.. I'll be okay with stock Android JB but I want to use a custom rom as much as possible..
P.S. - I've tried reading the forums, and have been reading the forums.. it's just that I cannot seem to find something that would give me the result I want..
Any help would be much appreciated.. Thanks in advance for those who care to help..

Once your device was upgraded past MJ4 (jellybean) to NAB ( first kitkat based rom ) Knox was installed and as the device was upgraded past KK to OC2 lollipop Knox security follows making it impossible to go back to jellybean.

regarding this process, say I have Lollipop installed, and don't care about tripping knox. Does it still make in impossible to go back to JB?
thanks for the response

Yes it is still impossible to downgrade. When the device is upgraded to kitkat and beyond several changes are made to the bootloader/modem. If you try to downgrade the bootloader/modem to MJ4 you will brick the device.
By tripping Knox all you are really doing is breaking the knox security system ( meaning Knox containerization of data is no longer possible ). What you might be able to do is root your device with a OK2 lollipop with a custom recovery. Then make a BACKUP of your rooted OS ( click on rom flashing basics in my signature for more info). Now you could try to find a jellybean based rom/OS and see if the device will boot up. The worst that can happen is you will soft brick the device ( it boot loops on start up ). To solve this just pull the battery and replace then boot into recovery and flash your backup and then try a different one.

With out instering battery what do u mean this battery is a night mare trying to take out Lol.. We need u to tell us what carrier your using just tell us as much information on your phone and what u flashed on it and also try the LG support tool from the LG website i think that maybe it MIGHT detect your problem and upgrade you to the correct model and version android version since you are using 4.4.2 but so u know ur not supose to flash a sprint stock rom to a tmobile stockrom or any other networks stock rom for that matter... So tell us what carrier is the phone originally from and the devs will do their best to resolve your issues.
same problem here
I think i have that problem.. let me explain.
- A friend bought me a used phone from china ( LG G3 D855 ) as its written under the battery, it was running android 4.4.2 , but the IMEI number on the phone refers to ls990.
- Before i got the phone he unlocked it to work on our network in Egypt like (Vodafone)
- When i try to update the phone stuck on logo , and can't login on recovery or download mode , only fastboot mode .
- After searching i found the way to solve the problem and installing a stock ls990 rom on it.
- Then unlocked it again by a tutorial found on internet by editing build.prop file and it works great.
- Now when i try to use TWRP ver.2.8.0.0 to install any custom rom build D855 it fails, while installing custom rom build ls990 success but my network not working.
is there any way to install a D855 rom on ls990 or another way to solve this problem ??
Search for ls990 build.prop . by download or extract it from any ls990 rom , put build.prop in system folder after you root your device and then flash with lg flash tool using tot file ls990 zv4.
sent from my ls990
Ok so its confirmed that that works. I was thinking about making my sprint g3 into a AT&T g3 same way just vice versa

Network Sim locked after flashing ROM

Hello everyone
i hope you guys will be able to help me out on this because i've looked everywhere and i didn't find any solution.
i have an ALCATEL ONE TOUCH POP D5 (5038D) running kitkat 4.4.2.
i have flashed a stock rom many times before with no problems.
the past few days i started looking around for a Lollipop ROM for my phone.
i found two roms.
when flashing the first one with SP Flash tool an error occured and the phone won't start , so i flashed the stock rom.
then installed the second rom from recovery menu (install from zip) (CWM 12.1 Android 5.1.1) after rooting the phone with kingRoot .
everything went ok ,the phone started with Android lollipop 5.1.1 installed , but it asked me for Network unlock code which i never had to use since i bought the phone.
i tried flashing different roms (russian, english, 5038A) but nothing would work , always asking for the network unlock code and one of the sim slots is locked permanetly.
please guys can anyone help me solve this.i use my phone alot for work and i'm stuck now.
thank you in advance
