I've had netflix on my tablet for several months with no issues. Went to go use it the other day and says I need to update to the latest version. I go to play store and it says this app is not compatible with this device now. I have tried to find netflix on galaxy apps store but it's not there either. Tried several versions I found online but they will not connect to netflix server for some reason. Has anyone else run into the same issue?

I have been having the same issue. I thought it was because I had twrp, root and xposed on my tablet. the issue bothered me enough that i actually reset my tablet to stock to make sure there was no trace of the mods left. and for some reason, Netflix is still incompatible with my device... no idea whats going on.
Haven't ran into this issue yet, i did on Nexus 9 but that's because i was root. Go to apkmirror.com its ran by the guy who created android police, you can download the app there and install it. I have the Play Store version and im subscribed to the beta program and all is working fine, but i had to use apkmirror before to get it.

This was discussed a while back but I don't think it was ever resolved: is it okay to update the netflix app on the nook tablet? The google play store keeps trying to give me an update, but I know that the netflix app on the NT is not the same as the standard netflix app available on the google store. I'm worried that I'll be trading the specialized NT for the stock one, which I don't wanna do.
Anyone updated? Have any thoughts to share?

I just installed CM7 and downloaded the most recent netflix app- works great.
Oh nvm I see what you're saying. I dont know if installing the google play version will replace your stock app, sorry.
The stock NT Netflix app is not the same one that is in the Goolge Play Store. It is optimzed for the NT hardware and has higher quality performance.
Yes, I know. Which is why I'm asking if I should update it. Because google play seems to think it needs to be updated, but I know that the Netflix app on the NT is not the same one you get in the play store. It's somewhat confusing and I'm hoping someone out there has some idea of how to proceed.
I am running Team-B CM7 and also running the Play store Netflix update 1.7.1
Everything running great here. If in doubt, backup the app with TiBu then go for it! I have had zero problems though.
When I had my tablet stock rooted with google play store it kept trying to update netflix, but never suceeded for long. I found the non Barnes and Noble Version looked worse then the B&N version. Not that it didn't run fine, it just didn't seem as smooth most of the time.

Ditto (both that I think the B&N version was better and that it CONSTANTLY thinks it needs to update). I update from the Google store and would like to go back to the B&N stock version. Anyone know where the stock version can be found?
---------- Post added at 03:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:49 PM ----------
Update: I just did a reboot and it seems like I am not back to the stock version. I say that because 1) the updated version allowed for volume to be changed via a slider bat in the upper right had corner while the stock version's volumne is changed with the buttons on the side and 2) I'd swear the video looks better (but it might just be this particular movie?) now that I seem to be running from the stock version.
I believe that applications that reside in /system/app cannot be updated and I think that's where Netflix resides. So possibly what happens when you try to update is that it is temporary and on next reboot it reverts back to the stock version since it is in /system/app?
Google Play, B&N App Store, and Amazon.com Android App Store will ping pong back and forth when they check installed apps and find one that they think you've gotten from them. Apparently they only check to see if the version number differs, not whether their posted version is more current. I've gotten to ensuring that I only download a given app from one source, and let that source keep it "current."
is there a download link for the b&n version anywhere? diddnt know there was a difference

Ever since the last WatchESPN update 2.0.0.0 which was in NOVEMBER - when I try to watch something on my TFP, I choose my provider and then it dims the screen but never brings up the login page. I emailed their support in NOVEMBER and I got a reply that they were aware of the problem and were working on it. Needless to say nothing has happened. Anyway, it works fine on my GS4, does anyone know the file which stores your provider login credentials that I can copy to my other device or a file that can be modified on the TFP that would make it work? I have root on both devices - I tried copying the data\data\air.watchespn folder from the GS4 to the TFP but no success.

I had the exact same issue on my Prime. Emailed ESPN support. They responded. Their solution was to delete the app that I had downloaded from the Google Play store, and install the one from the Amazon App store. Stupid...but it worked. I just checked, and the version that I downloaded from Amazon is v 2.0.0.0

Did you do an update after you downloaded? I just checked Amazon and it is listed as 1.6.6.1 so I downloaded it just to make sure they had it listed correctly. It is, in fact, 1.6.6.1, which does work on my prime. I went into my app updates and there isn't an update for this app on the Amazon appstore.

I'm trying to think back on what I did. I uploaded the app from Amazon...and it worked. Shortly after that I decided to root and install CM 10.2 (4.3.1). When I re-loaded apps from the Play Store, WatchESPN worked.

Interesting. When I unlocked and flashed HairyBean about 2 months ago I updated to 2.0.0.0 through Play store and it worked. I made Ti backup of it, but, having battery drain issues with the rom and had to reflash. After that 2.0.0.0 won't work anymore. Just about every other app saves your credentials and still works after an update without having to login again - except this one!

Maybe a stupid question...but did you re-install from the Play Store, or did you restore via Titanium Backup? In my case i re-installed from the Play Store. No backups restored via TB. I used it as an opportunity to clear my Prime of all the crap that had built up over the years, and only download the apps that I use.

I have a copy of the 1.6.6.1 apk that I found online somewhere and installed it directly. I then updated it through the Play store. I opened the app, clicked on a program, selected my provider, the nonfunctional provider login page popped up for a second or two then disappeared and went into the chosen program. Never actually had to type in my user/pass, that's why I'm thinking it is stored somewhere in 1.6.6.1 that could be copied over to 2.0.0.0 or maybe a databases editor would allow you to modify the appropriate file.
Found an interesting "fix" that worked for me if there are any users out there with persistent problems.
I installed the app through google play store, espn support told me to use the amazon version which was 1.6.6.1. I uninstalled and went to reinstall from amazon, but, amazon still thought the app was present on my tablet, even after a reboot. I reinstalled from play store and went to amazon to uninstall there, but, wouldn't let me. It would let me open the app from amazon and much to my surprise, when I chose an event and my provider, the provider login page worked and displayed correctly!!! To tempt fate, I uninstalled and reinstalled from google play store - would not display login page correctly if I opened app directly or through play store. Opened with amazon appstore and it worked correctly again.
Had this problem with stock rom and HairyBean 2.3.1 - have since switched to NRG for battery drain issues, but, WatchESPN worked correctly from initial attempt, FWIW.
"Fix" for version 2.2.1
OK, I have a workaround for this that's working...but my post keeps getting flagged! I've contacted 2 admins and have not got a response. I've been trying for 3 days to post the exact steps!
I've posted it to other sites so just google it.
wtf
So for almost a year I had my phone rooted on Android 5.0.2, but when Marshmallow came to my device I decided to unroot and install the latestbuild. The only problem I have had with it since is applications rarely download, no matter how I try. Downloading applications from the play store fails. Downloading from unofficial sources such as apkmirror.com gives me the same problem. I also noticed more recently that when I try to download music from the google play music app that fails too. Strangest of all is anything else that requires internet, such as using Chrome browser or Gmail, works fine. On some days i don't have issues, but most days no luck. Does anyone know how to diagnose this issue?
Hi there,
I am trying to install Pokemon GO on Memu 2.7.2 from the website apk mirror (can't link it cuz I don't have enough posts)
Every app is easily installed however Pokemon GO fails to install without giving me any reason why.
Has anyone encountered the same problem and has a possible fix?
Thanks!
Same problem here. Haven't found a fix for it yet. The apk worked fine on mobile so that's not the problem.
We'll probably have to wait till it's downloadable through the playstore.
Yes they are blocking devices that can't get the app from the PlayStore and banning people that are sideloading it
Pokemon Go required Android 4.4 And MEmu is 4.2

There's actually a Lollipop version now.
I was able to install it from the Play Store, but it still force closes after I launch it.
Edit: I actually got it working. I just had to set up Google Play Games. It's working great now!

I installed the lollipop version and installed Play Games, and it still force closes the app upon startup. Was there anything else you had to do to get it to work?

Did you open Play Games and make sure you're signed in? That's all I did. Which version of Pokemon Go are you using? I have 0.29.2 which was released today.

Yeah, I installed Play Games, signed into my account, and clicked around on a few things to be sure I was signed in correctly. Then I just I installed the game from the Play Store, which I would assume is the most up to date version.
Edit: Just verified - it's 0.29.2
Double edit: I opened Play Games, navigated to "My Games" or whatever, and opened the game from inside Play games, and it worked. Wont work if I try to open it from the home screen though.
having same problem but going though play games didnt fix it for me. Running the latest memu beta, game installs from play store, run game from play games and still crashing. Thoughts?
I got it installed but it's also crashing for me
me too
Grave diggging!!!!!
Today I got a prompt to update Netflix I then got the message that my device was not compatible with this app and that I needed to contact the developer. I did that and after a long chat come to find out our tablet is not certified with Google Play Store. Does anyone have a fix for this?
Remove it from your device.
Download it from APK Mirror.
Install it with APKM installer
https ://www.apkmirror .com/apk/ netflix-inc/netflix /netflix-7-58-0-build-26-34888-release/
And update it yourself when nessary.
Disable Playstore updates
You get a Netflix error 15001, when logging in.
You need to flash a Magisk module
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s4/how-to/netflix-error-15001-fix-t3923125
Then it works.

Thank you so much. One more question, you said to update yourself if necessary, wouldn't that put me back in the same situation I was in?
No, just download a newer stable version later.
If necessary.
Install it manually.
Don't fix it, if it ain't broken:laugh:
@ XDA we are Testers
This is quite strange. Not certified with play store? Really? Is this some random no-name knock-off tablet with Android thrown on as an afterthought?
I'm getting the same error on a STOCK ROM, unrooted. I think there's a way to re-certify the Play Store. This is a very bad scene for Samsung. It was supposed to be a premium tablet.
ETA: I don't have the tablet in front of me, but I recall something about unlocking bootloader in developer settings impacting Netflix updates. I'll try and report back.

Reboot into recovery, wipe cache and now it shows in the playstore
To be clear, the play store was showing and working for other apps, but not netflix. Clearing cache seems to have worked, so thank you. I wonder if it was related to pre / post update.
