i have this error also. you won't be able to roll back to android 7.1. you propably won't be able to flash any rom via fastboot also as ther will be android.phone error.
did you guys had previously TWRP installed? and after that you went back to stock and locked bootloader?

Yup flashed latest SuperSU from recovery. I did a dirty image flash over top of mine previous 7.1.2 . All went well

Yeah I still have same animation
There is something wrong with this OPR6. The Easter egg is still the octopus one. No mention of Oreos anywhere. Also no new wallpapers. Still the same old from Nougat.
The icons are still square with no option to change them and some Google apps are still using their old original ones like G+ and Translate. What hell? Did Google shipped an unfinished Android or this OPR6 is not the final one?

Why aren't these "factory images" on the main factory images site (https://developers.google.com/android/images)
Maybe those ones on the dev site aren't final images... thus the wrong boot animation etc...
I'm super confused. I've been using Android since ever since the first release preview but I never could get Picture-In-Picture to work unless I added a navigation shortcut. Is it working on Nexus 6P? It should be, I don't see why it doesn't.
So I open the Youtube app, I tap on any video and I press the home button but it just brings me back home and the video stops. I made sure that the Youtube app has permission to use PIP.
Can someone help?

Press the recent apps button > Wallpaper > Live wallpaper or Mi Wallpaper and download some.

@nightwalkerkg Thanks for the reply. I tried that. But when I flash the miui zip, it says flash failed. I think something has to change in META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script. Not sure though.
I haven't even received OTA to update. CID J__15, Middle East.

Hmmm,that is wierd,i flashed the same zip and it was working just fine.
Try to restart the recovery and then to flash it,sometimes it just tends to bug.

Just dirty flashed and everything seems good. Google assistant isn't baked in for nexus 6p, looks like I'll have to reinstate that.
just dirty flashed from 7.0 everything seems fine rn google now on tap started off really buggy but is fine now.
Reinstated Google assistant fine through the zip. Haven't tried OK Google yet as it's late here in England and my wife won't appreciate me shouting okay Google when she's sleeping!

No need for unroot but you must wipe or flash img with adb , both no unroot need.

Ok just find a bag. When trying to change regions on Europe it crashes Google play and some apps. I will fix it tomorrow morning. In Greek working great! Try to use other countries and regions.

Do roms come with firmware and if firmware is important, why don't roms come with latest firmware? Is firmware baseband?

Battery life didn't seem great. Dropped down to 64% battery with only 1hr 20min screen time. While the screen was off I dropped 3% in 15mins. The phone doesn't seem to sleep. Great for notifications but poor for battery.

Here's the TWRP Recovery adapted by Can Xin from Chinese 7to forum.
It's the same recovery adapted for Nokia 5.

When you attempt to root Nokia 5, load official firmware for Nokia 5 instead.

In fact the screenshot it the same to the recovery for Nokia 6. You can take a look to the guide I posted on Nokia 6 Development forum.

It works on any variant of Nokia 5 in theory.
And sorry for your wondering, I've put the recovery for Nokia 8 by mistake. Now I replaced with the correct one.

I can confirm it works. BUT. My widgets from home screen disappeared and there is no way to add them (long press does nothing). Nor can I long-press on apps in the drawer to delete/add to the home screen.
I do not know if this is TWRP issue, or root or I did anything else to do that, but it doesn't work now

yeah I had this issue it seems to be installed just can't boot to it but I downloaded TWRP app from play store and used the app to boot recovery
can flash orginal recovery after root?(for install update)or the phone be damaged?
Any news from nokia about bootloader unlocking

The link is an official xiaomi link so the rom is legit, their en.miui website is not always updated properly. Let me know if you've tried it, you should be able to flash from updater app by manually choosing the rom package, if you are on global stable rom (not eu rom)
