Can't imagine my Nexus 7 (Deb) without ElementalX Kernel. I'm a big fan of ElementaX Kernel and the associated app(EX Kernel Manager) to tweak the Kernel on the fly. Can not thank @flar2 enough for his effort to build these amazing things. I know there is official ElementalX Kernel for Redmi Note 3. I'd love the same for Redmi Note 4. So I hereby request @flar2 to make this possible.
As many people already said, I will love try the awsome franco kernel if @franciscofranco kindly decides to make it available for Redmi Note 4 as well.
Those who want the same please comment here to show the support
Yup absolutely best kernels out there on XDA, one can dream.

RR by Alexey + ElementalX and after that MIUI who??

That would be sweet! Awating answer.

That would be cool, but wouldn't they need to have a unit of Mido so they can test their kernels first-hand?

+1 but it won't happen because Xiaomi doesn't update kernel sources with updates and elementalx tends to be as close as possible to upstream for sake of stability.
Just look at the problems we're having with custom roms. We're stuck with older drivers/blobs because newer ones won't work with the old kernel code released by Xiaomi.

I have no idea, as I see ppl are complaining about missing features after installing a new custom kernel like fingerprint, camera, random reboot and etc. So, may advice just stay on stock kernel.
Sent from my Redmi Note 3 using Tapatalk
Stay on stock, especially if you have the goodix fingerprint reader. Or you roll back to 6.11.3, in which case, you have your choice of Radon/AGNI/Neon kernel. I am on Agni on 6.11.3 (i have the goodix fp) and I have no problems with anything, great performance and battery life. Neon is also good. Haven't used Radon in a while so I can't comment on that.
i have fpc and all works with any custom kernel i tried (guyver, agni, radon, neon). they all provide kernel for goodix fp too..so dont mislead ppl, because all works + you get dt2w, etc..
I'm now using Radon kernel on 6.12.1 . I used to use Agni kernel. Bothare good. Agni is almost updated thrice a week.

No, they do not. Perhaps since you don't have the goodix fingerprint reader, you aren't in the best position to speak about the situation. As I have a kenzo with goodix, I can tell you that I have tried all Neon and AGNi and neither of them have had goodix fp support since 6.11.10. The last version that worked was 6.11.3 with custom kernels. I have heard that there is a possiblity that they may work if the goodix blobs from 6.11.3 were installed after the custom kernel installed but I haven't done that yet.

Hello guys,
People using MIUI please help me, so I have flashed Radon but never get SOT more than 5 hours. While AOSP gives around 6-7 (same usage) so if you could please suggest tweaks, kernel to make MIUI less battery-hogging?
I am using miui rom from eu site and using radon kernel with darkness governor, it made my device last for about 7 to 8 hours, full data and no gaming at all.

how you manage to install radon kernel on miui ..i tried once and it failed and from them my phone is taking around 7 hours to charge 50% even in switch off mode

MIUI 8 battery life is pretty good, I usually get close to 12 hours on screen time.... all stock except rooted, use the security app in settings to stop excess use of CPU in background.

+1 for Radon, and if you have many apps installed, you can try Greenify

hahaa
read this properly radon and agni are different kernels... after flashing any one kernel either agni or radon as your wish...
after flashing
reboot to recovery then download kernel aduitor app from playstore in cpu section you can find kernel governers then select and save your wished governer thats it :good::good:
just flash eu or epic rom and flash agni kernel, radon is just waste..

Our Redmi note 3 supports fast charging from hardware perspective, it's just that Xiaomi has decided to not include it in the device to cut cost. Is there any way the developers of this device can enable fast charging by some tweaks. <Request>

Uhmm some custom kernels enabled fast charging, like Franko kernel(Nougat only). You can probably find one for Marshmallow if you searched the Development thread(Snapdragon, don't know anything about mediatek)

Yes, although you won't be able to use the default cpu settings of Franco kernel because NOS likes to set its own. You can disable it though by editing some stuff.
Follow this:https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72035606&postcount=1368
I think nitrogen stock kernel have the option to enable fast charging, check with kernel adiutor or ex kernel manager. For nougat you can use franco kernel, radon, agni kernel, elementalx kernel, for marshmallow radon or agni..
Is the nitrogen OS for redmi Note 4 or 4 x is better with the stock kernel or Franco kernel or any other custom kernel available in the XDA forum???
Thanks in advance

it depends upon your usage.
Are you more of a "power saying" guy?, then go ahead franco kernel is for you.
do you want a balanced kernel? then leave it to stock
are you performance hungry?
Stormguard is da way to go mah boi
