Has anyone else noticed a slight jelly effect while scrolling quickly on the Tab S3? It is most noticeable in facebook but I can see it in other apps as well. (mails, web pages etc...)
I have had my tablet for about 2 months and only recently started noticing this effect.
The only cnange recently is that my Tab received an update recently. Perhaps it is related?
The S2 had a similar problem.

John.
Yes, just did a slow motion capture to see what is happening

Yes, the effect is as shown in your video. It actually occurs while scrolling slowly and not only when scrolling fast as mentioned in my post above. It also seems that it only occurs in portrait mode.
Strangely, I did not notice this before the last firmware update. It's a very annoying effect and very noticeable. Certainly not something I would expect from an expensive tablet like the Tab S3.

Just editing the link to the youtube video for a higher resolution version.
It happens on all the Tab S range. Even the S1. It seems the S2 and S3 are actually using screens which are native landscape as it only happens in portrait mode on the Tab S.
It's probably due to the high resolution and frame rates of these devices as it doesn't happen on my Tab A with lower resolution screen.
Happens on mine too!

I'm having weird issues with video recording. If I start filming in bright light, the frame rate is abysmal (about 2 fps). In normal room lighting there is no problem and the frame rate is good enough.
The weird part is that if I start recording in the room light and step out side to very bright day light, the frame rate stays good. And if I start in bright light with bad fps it stays bad no matter the lighting.
Anyone else having this issue?
edit: my phone is stock and is running OS version 7.10.7740.16
Hmmm, my phone has the same configuration as yours: Stock rom and everything. I tried what you said, recording from bright light to room & vice versa, but my transitions seem to be smooth with no lags :/ I believe your camera is on it's default settings?
When in camera mode, try panning the camera from bright light to dim & vice versa, see if there are any lags of choppiness in between the transition. If there isn't, there shouldn't be any problems. If there is, I'm not sure what's causing it.
Does anyone here has had this issue as well?
I've tried to do just like you told and I have some example videos but I can't link to them as I'm new member (joined 2008, never written anything before
Couple a days I did some filming outside and I had to start recording by covering the lens with my finger every time to get normal fps. This way it works fine and I get good quality.
I don't know if it has something to do with that there's really bright outside during day because all the snow here but I can also replicate the problem by pointing camera to my monitor.
This is new issue for me too as it was working fine untill now.
btw. It seems to work fine if I use VGA quality.
I just hope I don't have to reset my phone.
Hmmm, I guess no else has had this problem. But this is a really unique one since VGA works, there's no reason why 720p isn't working. Perhaps bringing the phone to the service center might be of help? :/

Hi joaquim! Dont feel lonely, i also have this problem on my mozart phone. I've made a search on youtube, and i also noted that there are several users with the same problem.
I also have another problem, it gets difficult to change from the phone mode to video mode. Every time i press the cam icon to change the mode to video, i hear some clicks inside the phone and the imagem starts to focus. I have to click several times until i can change the mode.
Also, i see no solution for this
your not alone i have this problem too and it happened on my stock rom and even now on the latest custom rom that i installed. I have not tried the finger trick though.
I also tried doing some searching and the only thing i found pointed at possible sd card issues...i have swapped out the deafault 8gb sdcard for a 16gb one and they state that if it is not class 5/6 then it could be too slow writing 720p data.
but like you i have no problem recording 720p indoors just outside or in bright light....
I have noticed that this only occurs in 720p mode, in VGA mode works fine though
Hello all! I installed ICS on my GS2, rooted it, using the XALPQ firmware, and everything's pretty decent. However, I've had problems with sensitivity and I did a quick search and it appears that other people have noted that sensitivity has indeed decreased. Is there a tuning app that can recalibrate? Scrolling sensitivity especially is infuriating.
And speaking of scrolling, I don't know if anyone has noticed before but when (for Dolphin anyway) when a reformatted page was scrolled there used to be this kind of 'lock' that basically makes it resistant to scrolling horizontally if you're scrolling vertically with the text in formatted. That seems to have disappeared, for Dolphin and the stock browser. Anyone else noted this?
Finally, the heating issues the GS2 had seems to have disappeared but it appears there is a dramatic decrease in performance when doing intensive tasks. PDFs have become extremely laggy if they contain a large amount of pictures. Before the GS2 used to load them fairly quickly but got very hot; now it just does it extreeeeemely slowly. Is there a cap on power consumption or something with ICS, and is there a way to circumvent that?
It's my first post so I hope you guys won't destroy me utterly.
So I think I've figured out half the problem. Using Touchmove I can see that the actual sensitivity is okay, BUT there's something wrong when it first registers a response. The spot that your finger touches registers a response but small movements will not. However, once your finger has left that initial spot and gone a certain distance, it well start moving normally. If you keep your finger on the screen you can see that even if you move small distances now the phone will register your movements normally. It's just that single initial spot that's problematic. Anyone know the issue?
I have a problem with my gtab. the screen is kind of flockering. Not the problem with the screen flicker when the tab is low on ram, which was solved with the latest kernel. It is some kind of ... grainy effect. I notized first when I read a Pdf file where the background was black and the letters white. The letters were a little bit moving, as if the pixel were not constant. then I notized it is the same in the taskbar when on landscape, but not on portrait. the numbers of the time were grainy. furthermore the letters of the Apps in the Appdrawer, grainy but only in landscape, not portrait.
How can I solve this problem?
rom is Infamous AOKP latest kernel 1.9.1
should be p7510 - p4 wifi

If with grainy you mean that you can see the pixels, that is normal as or device doesn't come with the highest resolution. If it is really moving, that would be odd and is not something I see. Did you check whether it is also present on stock ROM?
Verstuurd van mijn GT-I9000
I know the screen. I mean not the normal grainy letters coming from low ppi.
The pixels are definitly moving, not all pixel of a letter/number only some of them.
I didnt see something on stock, no.

The flicker is even there in CWM and on the SGT 10.1 Boot text
I'd like to push this, maybe someone could help me, although I got a new tablet a while ago.

Perhaps, it is repairable, I already opened the GTab.
(Never had warranty)

Hi,
I am facing the same problem. I watched your videos and its the same.
Did u get it checked. Please let me know if you solve this.
Thanks,
AV
Nothing as of yet.
Tablet can be switched on but lies somewhere around
Now I am on a KK Rom - Omni.
Not suprisingly, the flicker is still there...
push?
Any help?
It looks you have a faulty digitizer and/or screen. Since you tried almost every ROM you can safely rule out a software problem (you did test this with a stock ROM as well, right?). So I'm guessing it's hardware related.
Sent from my Nexus 7 2013
Itsa me again...
My tablet seems to be fine again :good:
What did I do?
Two things:
1)
I left the screen on with power plugged in. Nothing else
I do not know if this did the trick.
2)
I overclocked the tab to 1.4 GHz, activated WiFi Bluetooth, max. brightness and ran a stability test with graphics.
I then wrapped the tablet into a blanket (heat generation).
After 15 minutes I heard the battery (it was charged only to 15 % before)
And it was quite hot.
After cooling the tablet down i read a few PDF and no flicker...
Now I have two tablets, one Asus and one Samsung
Any comment on that procedure?
Unfortunately it is back again.
I burned the tablet again, but nothing. Didnt work this time.
Do you have any suggestions how to fix this?
I did a search for "screen lag", but didn't find anything like what I'm seeing...
I have a 2012 Nexus 7 that works FINE (at least as well as most anything) with Helicon Remote. Had a charging problem and bought a Nexus 9. One of the things it has to do is work properly with Helicon Remote. HR takes the feed from the camera live view and lets you do camera control, select focus points, and so on.
Unfortunately, when connected to my Nikon D810, if I move the camera, only the far right edge of the screen updates. Then after several seconds, the rest of the screen finally updates. When zooming, you get the right edge updated, and tiles displaying and sitting and flickering on the screen. Again, after several seconds the screen finally updates.
Since it works fine with the Nexus 7, I presume there's some difference in the 9 that's having a problem. I don't know if Helicon Remote needs some update, or if its the tablet. I posted the problem to the Helicon Soft forum, but I suspect they're blocking posts that show problems 'cause it still hasn't shown up after a day.
I took some video showing what it does, and can post it if it's useful, but can anyone provide ideas for getting rid of the huge screen lag? Is it possible to change (reduce) the resolution of the Nexus 9 (presuming the problem is because of the higher resolution than the Nexus 7)? Or do I just mark this as a bad experiment and dump it back at the retailer where it was purchased?
Why is there a gap between the actual screen & the controls of the game? Any fix? I checked with another friend of mine & same issue persists.
This makes it difficult to switch from other devices as controls are shifted by a considerable margin.
+1
Started getting the same issue from about a month back. Tried quite a few things, but nothing seems to work. Just got used to it.
Still is very annoying though.

When I switch from OnePlus 6 to S9+ it keeps bugging me & affects the gameplay.
No one else?
I thought maybe it's happening to my device only. Can't even find a fix anywhere
That's because you might be frequently changing the display resolution. Keep it in 1080 or 2k and restart the phone

Nope, this isn't the cause. I never manually change resolution and I rarely use power saving.

i have the same problem than i solved the problem with change the resolution of my samsung s9+ from FHD+ to WQHD+ Vice Versa. If your first try is failed, close the pubg and try again to change resolution back to FHD+ or WQHD+. sometimes i try to change the resolution twice than the problem solved sometimes once.
