Is "Wiko Geek" the door to Wiko custom ROMs? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone!
First of all sorry for my English, I'm not a native speaker but I'll try my best!
I currently own a Wiko uFeel Lite smartphone, which is pretty good for me and my needs, but for the moment it's in Marshmallow (nothing bad, it's just that the world already have Oreo and at least i'd like to have Nougat).
I've been doing some research lately because I know there are a lot of communities of Android development arround the world, and I thought that some of them maybe knew something about this phone's development. I found that there is a TWRP (with some bugs) recovery and a method of rooting with SuperSU. That's really good, and I'm thankful for that, but I kept researching because I wanted some juicy ROMs or similar.
After reading the "Legal" options in the "Information" section of the phone config, I found that Wiko has a web called "Wiko Geek", where the developers post which seems to be the kernel of each released phone.
So, here is finally my question! With that kernel source (used in the actual version of the phone), are developers able to create custom ROMs like Lineage ones (Marshmallow, Nougat, etc) for this or other models?
Thank you for your help and have a good day!

Is it possible to port a custom rom from RN3 SD to MTK?

Dear xda community,
I just made my account so I can ask the question written above (and join your community :fingers-crossed. I don't ask for instructions, guides etc. I just want to know if it's possible and if so, how hard is it?
There was a guy who always ported the MIUI official global developer SD roms to the MTK phones. It worked pretty well, though I'm not a great fan of MIUI's design & bloatware. Long story short: he did it in a very short period of time.
There are many Android 5 (6 at best) custom roms out there, though we have Android 7 (offical resurrection remix OS) for the SD device. MTK and Snapdragon share the latest MIUI/Android version (7.11.23), so maybe copy/paste files is possible until a certain limit?
Thanks for your answers and best regards (and sorry if I'm not seeing any obvious mistake, I'm just learning C++ at the moment and that's all )

Actually No... SD and MTK are 2 different architectures and the kernel having the apis implementated wont be common... But it would be little simpler if porting rom also shares the same archecture... So u need to browse similar roms which are in same architecture....
Also to port across different OS versions, you need kernel source to provide respective drivers.... Hope it helps

[HELP] New "developer" in desperate need of guidance (ZTE Nubia NX629KJ)

Hello all!
First time Android "developer" Cory here. I've been rooting phones and flashing all kinds of things for years now, but this is the first time I actually want to try to develop something.
First a quick introduction about my community and device. The Nubia Red Magic 3 has been pushed by all sorts of online personalities and tech companies, even XDA. It's a Chinese gaming phone with tons of power, and the first ever mechanical cooling system. However ...it's global release has been staggered by very, very poor firmware. It runs on Android 9 and lacks many features that leave global (English) customers feeling ripped off in some way.
I want to develop a stable, stock-based ROM for my community by learning how to take the good bits of the Chinese version of our devices ROM, and merge it with the "Gapps" compatible variant that we all know (and hate).
I've done lots of research online, and so far have only found a tool that lets me extract system.new.dat.br so I can change things like sounds and graphics. I don't know how to repack it.
There are lots of Google results for things that seem helpful, but turn out to be very outdated, sometimes by as much as 7 years. Also many links to tools are either dead or outdated (even here on XDA).
We (the Red Magic community) are desperate for a stable ROM that we can use daily, and I want to deliver that. I have ideas of where I want to start, but I can't find out how.
Thanks in advance for any and all guidance!

Current checklist of To Do's:
Change system sounds (done)
Create stable, Interactive based kernel
Fix Chinese system translations
Debloat proprietary Chinese apps for global users
Implement stable launcher/replace permanent Chinese launcher
Integrate system Gapps into ROM
More to come.

Looking for ROM for X96s w/ S905Y

Hi,
I am looking for custom ROMs for my Pendoo X96s which seems to have a X905Y SoC. I looked around and haven't really been able to find anything.
If one doesn't exist, I was wondering if there are any instructions as to ROM hacking for this chipset? I have some, albiet, outdated experience with ROM hacking for much older android phones, but haven't really tried that with Android sticks or boxes.
Thanks

General question about custom ROM

Hello guys,
I'm thinking about getting a custom ROM on my p20 lite. I'm an absolute beginner in this topic tho.
I've already looked up how to get a bootloader code via PotatoNV and how to root the phone with TWRP.
While looking for a ROM that suits my needs I realized that it's not that easy like I first thought it was.
For example LOS for p20 lite is not maintained anymore and I stumbled across multiple reports that the camera or fingerprint sensor did not work after installing a custom rom.
Therefore, my question is: Is there a ROM for my p20 lite that is stable enough to use it as a daily driver without the need of countless hours of fixing errors?
I'm not that picky when it comes to the different OS. I just don't want to use EMUI anymore because it feels like the Chinese can see anything I do (totally regret buying this phone btw)
Any help or opinions are very appreciated! Thank you very much!
Model: ANE-LX1
Build: 9.1.9.377
EMUI: 9.1.0

Sorry to sound rude here, but maybe if you try to read whole section you would find the answer...
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/anne
"Warning: The Huawei P20 Lite is no longer maintained. A build guide is available for developers that would like to make private builds, or even restart official support."
The problem is that I don't understand most of the stuff. But This TWRP is DISCONTINUED, "I have unlocked my device and is currently running LineageOS 16 from OpenKirin. There are a few things which does not work, like the camera app that comes with the OS as well as the notch, where icons goes beyond the notch.", "These gapps are unofficial and are in beta stage so you can maybe face a lot of crases", .... sound like I have to put in a lot of effort into this. I'm wondering if it's worth the time if in the end it doesn't work anyway.
A good choice is CAOS. There are a lot of users here running it. And @-Alf- gives great support as long as you read the forum and follow given links.
