Guess we'll have to hope that someone can grab it and create a zip to flash.

I have the "dlpkgfile" file from /cache/fota
Who wants it?

First G2 software update

I just got a system update notice on my LG G2. When I went to the support page, it is "unavailable".

Has anyone applied this update?

If you took the update can you try the one click root in dev. Interested in seeing if it still works.

yea, we won't really know if this is a root exploit patch until someone takes the hit.
Its been confirmed by multiple people that the update does not address root or loki.

Shocking!!! The pitchforks and burning torches that have been raised will have to wait for another day, I suppose.

Yes...it doesn't patch root. If you are rooted and do not have a custom recovery installed. You can accept the update and it does nothing. If you have TWRP installed, you need to flash the stock recovery, accept the update and then flash back to TWRP after.

Lollipop 5.1.1 23.4.B.0.319 R30C FTF is posted

The FTF is up for grabs on Xperifirm now as I checked this morning. I am downloading it and will be creating a prerooted flashable zip and will bring in some goodies I think everyone will be interested in.
It will be posted later today, if not tonight due to using my college campus Wi-Fi. lol
flashable zip? Good!

It would be great if Verizon or supported that. Otherwise, you'll just have to get a new phone.

so I flashed the zip and today I checked system update theres a messaging fix again I guess, I don't know this 5.1.1 is buggy. I was wondering if you could upload that to a zip or whatever. I'm trying to make a nice rom but what they keep updating.

Are you sure you're on the R30C release? Because that's the latest that came straight from Xperifirm and I can confirm the Verizon website has the same version listed.

LG US997 just updated to 15a

LG US997 just updated.
https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-us997-firmwares/#more-4590
File name: US99715a_05_0908.kdz
Model: LGUS997
Operating system: Android 7.x Nougat
Whats new?
Android version 7.0
Security patch level Sept 1, 2017
Build # NRD90U
Seems like I finally have Face Unlock and Mini View options (they didn't show up for me in 13a or 14a). Looks pretty much the same otherwise.
I would really like to see Do Not Disturb Until Next Alarm get put back in.
I wonder why I haven't gotten this update. US997 still stock 14a. Tried to manually check for updates but it says I'm on the current version.

Well, I notice the site offering that download is not official LG. So maybe someone's screwing with us.

No, it's legit. I just updated to 15a by using LG Bridge. It took about an hour to download and update. I didn't lose any data, but also backed up first just in case.

Good to know. Currently I can't apply .kdz files directly due to not having a Windows computer at hand, so I'll have to try it later when I have a Windows box handy or wait for some kind soul to create a flashable zip. But it's good to hear you've applied it successfully. Is it worth the effort?

Not sure. The only difference I noticed was the mini view option, which I doubt I'll use, and Sep security patch. I'm hoping this is also a prep for Oreo.
I received the OTA for 15a... Will edit when I get a chance to download and install.

Installed last night.
Very nice... Was hoping for a bump up in Android version, but I didn't really expect it.
How consistent has LG been with the US models of this phone?
so i couldn't find anything posted already, if this is the wrong place for this feel free to let me have it.
ok so i flashed this from twrp everything seems to be running ok, EXCEPT, ALL my google apps (maps, gmail, chrome and something i'm forgetting) keep shutting down. i'm happy to just uninstall using TB but it seems like this is systemic of something wrong.
any help would be appreciated.

US997 Software update (10/4/18) 21c

I snoozed the notification then realized I should probably let someone know.
Currently can't install it because I have TWRP installed.
https://forums.androidcentral.com/l...are-update-us99721c-unlocked-us997-lg-g6.html
This guy got it as well.
Thanks for posting. I hope some kind soul does what was done for the 21b stock ROM, and makes a twrp installable zip for those of use who don't know how to convert a kdz.
I'm willing to throw 30 dollars towards someone that does it. I'm sure a few more folks will add to it.

I don't think so for this update. I haven't seen the kdz anywhere. Personally, I went to unrooted stock using an older kdz and LGUP (with Uppercut) and then immediately got the OTA.
i guess nobody is interested in it?

Do you mean the full image KDZ? Within a few days of OTA, usually sites like LG-Firmwares.com has access to KDZ. Or members here share copies they have downloaded via LG Bridge. Right now I am uploading the full 3GB to my Android File Hosts account to share with everyone from there.
@seadersn, the dev who does the H930 TWRP flashable zips says he will have that completed and uploaded by Saturday night.

Yes, if you dirty flash (only wipe caches, which TWRP will suggest any way when you flash something).
