SD Card Adoptable Storage KEY file lost - Help - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all!
I had to do a factory restore to unlock the sim card for my phone. After this I proceeded to doing a TWRP restore and for some reason the partition on my SD card that has all my apps is not being recognized anymore.. When the phone booted it thought my sd card was new? I did noticed that my internal storage is wiped. I have to assume something is missing? Is there any way to manually allow android access to this adoptable storage partition? I am fully rooted and on CFW.
Information:
Galaxy S5
Android 6.0.1
NOTE: My SD card is formatted with adoptable storage.

It appears that adoptable storage utilizes a .key file in the data\misc\vold folder - even doing a twrp backup it came up blank - it seems twrp does not back this up?
wtf - is there ANY way to recover this at this point??

[Q] Just encrypted my device, did it encrypt external SD card also?

I'm a custom ROM on Android 4.2.2 and used the Settings > Privacy > Encrypt phone feature. What exactly did this do, did the encrypt the internal SD card, the external SD card, the entire filesystem (i.e. root of filesystem), or some combination?
If it didn't encrypt my external SD card, how can I do so? But if it did, how can I access the contents of my external SD card (after providing my PIN/password) from a laptop when I put the SD card in it? Would I just mount it like I do any other encrypted USB drive with LUKS?
If not, then isn't it risky because if my phone gets broken and I must start from a new ROM, then I've lost my most recent data (backups could be a few days old). Or lets's say someone flashes a new ROM, the new ROM wouldn't be able to read the card, or would it be able to if you use the same PIN/password?

Encrypted internal /storage/sdcard0 cannot be read after installing new ROM while using same password, just checked.

Access/Backup previously formatted SD card as internal storage in Android

Hi, I formatted my SanDisk 16gb card as Internal Storage for my Android Marshmallow 6.0 Moto G 2nd Gen XT1068 *rooted* device. So far so good, the problem is that my phone was failing really bad yesterday not sure why, it won't move files from internal to the sd card so it was running out of space and the whole system started failing. I was not able to backup my SD card neither, because my developer options were blocked so no USB debugging available., I tried everything I found online, from stoping removing cache from Media internal app and some others, etc, and nothing worked.
So I decided to restore my phone to stock.
I did this and now it works fine, however it does not recognize my SD card (because it was formatted as internal storage with the "previous" device) so now I have a 16gb SD Card (4GB occupied) inaccessible to make a backup.
Is there a way to gain access to this SD card so I can move out all the files I've in there so I can format it again as internal storage?
Any information missing please ask,
Thanks in advance,
Denis.

Default storage on Acer Liquid Z630

Hi,
I own an Acer Liquid Z630 that I successfully rooted following this guide. I unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP and installed the SU zip, everything's working perfectly.
But during the process, my phone somehow decided to "switch" internal storage and external SD card, making SD card the default storage. SD card is now labelled as sdcard0 and internal memory as sdcard1, while it should be the opposite, and apps data are now written on the SD card instead of the internal memory.
When I unmount the SD card, internal storage becomes default storage again and is correctly labelled as sdcard0, but as soon as I mount it again, the same problem happens.
I want default storage to always be internal storage, even if the SD card is mounted, like it was before. I don't want my phone to write any file on my SD card, I only want files I put myself to be on my SD card.
I tried factory reset, but it remained the same. I did a little searching and saw a lot of threads with people asking how to make SD card the default storage (in my case, that's the exact opposite), but apparently, on Lollipop there's no way to change default storage. But it did change when I rooted my phone...
I also thought about updating to Marshmallow, as I heard storage is managed differently, but there's no official upgrade by Acer, and I could'nt find any unofficial port for Z630.
This has been bothering me for quite a while now and I don't konw what to do anymore, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

I have an UNROOTED ACER LIQUID Z630 and it does the same.
Its not a matter of it being rooted or not; every time you mount an SD card, memory option nÂș1 for the mobile is SD card.

SD card data not accessible.

Hi,
Today I flashed the stock rom on my Moto e2 3g for some work. After the work was done, I restored the full nandroid backup I had taken before flashing the ROM. Now, my SD card, which was formatted as internal is no more getting detected. When I insert it, the phone gives me an error stating unsupported SD card. When I tap on it, it asks me to format it. I cannot access the files through my phone. Can anybody tell me how I can get my data back or access the files? I'm currently on AOSPExtended 4.3. the backup taken was also of this rom.
Thank you in advance!
Edit 1: I had taken the backup of the key. I put the key in /data/misc/vold. Now my SD card gets detected as internal, but still I'm not able to access any data.
Edit 2: I can access the SD card in twrp by going to /external_sd/media/0. But I cannot access it in AOSPExtended.
I'm not sure of the model number, so please confirm if the stock you installed was MM. If you've partitioned your card separately for Adoptable storage then chances are that it will not be visible as a card, although check in Storage if the phone is able to see the card. If you can access your data through TWRP, best bet is to take a backup format your card as FAT and start fresh.

Yes, it was accessible through twrp. I did take the backup and formatted it. I did it the very same day.
Anyways thank you for replying.

Need to recover ext4 protected SD card

Hello there.
I have android phone with 9.0 firmware. When I bought the SD card and installed it, my phone asked me how I would use it.
I selected this variant:
Internal storage:
You can store apps and data for this device only. If you move the SD card to another device, the SD card will be erased ("formatted"). After the SD card is erased, you can use it with the other device.

The problem is that:
I got bootloop after some manipulations with firmware. So I had to make Factory Reset. Before that I've removed SD card from phone. And now I can't use this SD, because it's ext4 and something like "protected". My PC can't open disk even with ext4 reading tools. When I install this SD to the phone, it asks to formate SD and select the option of use.
How can I get back my data from this SD card?
