Flashtool; Creating bundle --> ERROR - null - Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

Hello,
hopefully someone can help me.
I am trying to create a FTF file for my Z3 Tablet Compact (SPG611, WiFi). I was following the Guide "Install Xperia Marshmallow using Flashtool and XperiFirm" from xperiablog(dot)net.
Every time the download is finished, Flashtool gives me the following error:
03/040/2017 12:40:39 - INFO - Downloading latest XperiFirm
03/047/2017 12:47:38 - INFO - Creating bundle for Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact Wi-Fi Customized DE 23.5.A.1.291
03/047/2017 12:47:38 - ERROR - null
Can someone tell me, how i can fix this error? I am using Flashttol 0.9.23.1.

using version 0.9.23.1, but I see 0.9.23.2 is out 0.9.23.2
Fixed a bug preventing from creating FTF bundles
copy the new Jar file to you installed flashtools folder

Thanks for the tip.
I was able to work around the problem, with simply using an older version from flashtool.

UPDATED [GUIDE] E10i X10i Mini - Disable Updating Firmware -SOFTLOCK

EDIT: Ok, it seems that this guide is redundant as 2.0.A.0.24 can now be easily rooted!
Check out this post for more information: [APP] X10 MINI/MINI Pro 2.0.2.A.0.24 *ROOT* *TESTED*
However, the information on this page still stands true and can be modified so that you don't update after 2.0.A.0.24! (Your choice!)
Original Post:
I decided to post this after my Missus connected my phone to my PC to charge it and thought it would be a good idea to sit down and let it update... I realised just in the nick of time and stopped her, there was no way I wanted to let it update to an UN-ROOTABLE 2.0.A.0.24!!!
So here is my attempt of completely stopping the phone updating!!!
In the following guide, I use Root Explorer (Free version here) to modify the files on my device but you could just use Root Explorer to copy the files to your SD card, edit the files on your PC and then copy them back to where they were (You would need to reset R/W Permissions to rw-r--r--).
It is very simple:
Open Root Explorer and browse to your "/system/etc" directory.
There is a file called "default-capability.xml".
Open this by holding down on it and from the pop-up, scroll down and choose "Open in Text Editor" (Note: You need R/W privelages to do this).
At the very botton there is a section that looks like this:
<app>
<productnumber>$SW_NUM</productnumber>
<productrevision>$SW_REV</productrevision>
</app>
<filesystem>
<productnumber>$FS_NUM</productnumber>
<productrevision>$FS_REV</productrevision>
</filesystem>
Edit it and change the "$SW_REV" and "$FS_REV" in the following highlighted areas to:
<app>
<productnumber>$SW_NUM</productnumber>
<productrevision>9.0.2.A.0.504</productrevision>
</app>
<filesystem>
<productnumber>$FS_NUM</productnumber>
<productrevision>9.0.2.A.0.504</productrevision>
</filesystem>
Now save the file (A backup will be created automatically).
(This stops SE PC Companion from updating by telling it you have version 9.0.2.A.0.504 installed - So technically, it would stop the updates FOREVER - or until SE Release a higher version Firmware!)
Now reboot your phone.
To check if everything has gone correctly - Connect your phone to your PC.
I use PC Companion and when I try updating - It says "Your phone is up to date".
On your handset, when you choose Settings --> About Phone --> Software Update --> Update Now it reports "Your phone already has the latest software".
Using this method, you can stop the phone being updated by SE for as long as you like, just reverse the process to allow it to update
I'm not sure if this will work for everyone, but it did for me!
I am also not sure if it will work with SEUS, but if you are running that then you must WANT to update!
There is also the possibility that it will work on other devices but I have no others to test it on
If anybody wants, I can create custom installable packages to be used with XRecovery (Install Custom.zip option) and I have attached my own (Please Note: It has ONLY been tested on an E10i running 2.0.A.0.504 UPDATE: Tried and working on E10i 2.0.A.0.24 too!).
I apologise if anyone has posted this, But given the face of the new update from SE, it seems like a good option to do this modification until 2.0.A.0.24 can be easily rooted!
wrong thread.
the way in Xrecovery
hi there
if i do this by Xrecovery and how can i remove or cancel it?
maybe someother day would like to update the new vision.
thanks!
ohoh..ive tried install the disable upates by xrecovery way but it did not work...
maybe it's not suit to taiwan's x10 mini edition.

X10 Mini Pro u20i System Library libril module patch Network Error *FIX*
Hey guys, I have come across this question repeatedly in the Slade87's GinTonic.SE|v2.5.1 thread and all across XDA Forums where ppl were unable to find an answer for the network error and requesting a fix (without having to lose data/restore factory settings/wipe/re-install custom rom etc)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1207740
After installing the modules - my signal was lost and I was stuck with no data connection due to an error in detecting the network.
So, I ended up with a rooted Android device with Gingerbread OS that can do almost everything - but make calls!
[Since my phone was not compatible with the Gintonic v2.5.1 3G/2G libraries for 2.1.1.C.0.0 libril files that were copied to the system/lib folder]
Finally, I decided to take matters into my own hands and took some effort to find a solution to our problem. YEEEAHHH.
Download the attachment and Follow the instructions.
Thumbs up + Rate
Cheers!

[Q] EAP SIM support for 2011 GB xperia phones

Hi,
I compiled CM-7.2 after applying patches from the "seek for android" project but, when selecting EAP-SIM authentication on a 802.1x Wifi network, connection failed. Direct modification of wpa_supplicant.conf did also fail.
It seems few 2011 RILs / basebands support this feature.
So, I was wondering if some more "xperia specific" approach could work (given the limitation is not a hardware one...?).
My phone is a neo (MT15i). Its "successor" was a 2012 xperia U (ST25i) with EAP-SIM support.
My question is what module(s) contain(s) the code handling this feature ?
Knowing this, I would also like to know if one or both of the following proposals could work :
1. Extract from the U .ftf file the .sin file(s) handling 'EAP-SIM' to flash it / them into my neo (may be a little 'dirty' and 'violent'...).
2. Compile the source (mainly the 'external' and 'kernel' directories) published on the Sony developper site for neo after replacing the necessary files / directories with the xperia U ones.
Any idea ?
Kind regards
Hi again,
I studied my problem a little bit further. As far as I understood, Sony did not publish the whole source code for their devices.
"external" and "kernel" directory contents are surely not the only ones that need to be adapted to get this EAP-SIM authentication up and running.
Which leaves me with the other option : manipulating the .sin files.
And I just found out that it's possible to extract their content (unyaff) to get the directories installed in the phone and their files. After modification, these files and directories can normally be packaged back (yaff).
By the way, are .sin and .img equivalent ?
So could somebody please tell me what files from the U firmware should be taken over and packaged back in the Neo firmware ?
Regards
Hi again,
Extracting, modifying, repacking a yaffs2 file is not a problem.
Whereas, producing the corresponding .sin file seems not to be possible.
According to the following thread, SE signs the .sin with a certificate which is not public...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1127012
End of the story for 2.3...
Kind regards.

[Q] How to extract Flash menu (swf) from a Sony Ericsson W995 ? (old sony phone)

Hi, first I want to do that because I want to return on old models of phones : the Sony Ericsson.
But It's been long time i've don't play with these phones models so I need some help.
I've searched on the web for Flash menu 2.1 but it's no longer avaible to find them... (very complicated)
(on the past I has a very cool collection of these menus but I lost these data)
So, I have a Sony Ericsson W995 phone with lots of Flash menu themes into and I want to extract them for put them into other phones that I've buy recently.
Here is where I am :
I've tried to connect my w995 with a2uploader for use the filesytem explorer and try to extract the themes, I see them but I can't extract them with this program.
Maybe it's possible to extract the firmware (if the flash menu are into it) and after that, extract the themes from the firmware ?
You can go on this page for more details about SE flash menu : softpediainfo.blogspot.fr/2010/06/flash-menus-for-sony-ericsson-phones.html
Might be worth having a look here for help with such an old Phone, I used to have one but would have to do a lot of reading if I wanted to mod one today. - http://www.topsony.com/forum/forum.php

Change Mac Adress permanently CM12 // Xperia Z2 Castor Windy maybe other Sony devices

Hi,
after CM 12 my Z2 Castor Windy becomes the same MAC Adress like my Z3.
So how to change the MacAdress of my Z2 Castor Windy permanently?
Tried to google for it but found only solutions for KitKat that dont work.
And here is the Solution for CM12/maybe other CustomROMs that changes MAC Adress at flashing:
1. Use a Root Explorer/Root Filemanager
2. Go to: /data/etc/wlan_macaddr0
3. Open it and read out your old MAC from Sony - write it down.
4. Go to: /system/etc/firmware/wlan/bcmdhd/bcmdhd.cal and open it writeable
5. Edit Line 8 macaddr=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx to your original MAC from Sony.
6. Save changes and reboot.
7. DONE - enjoy - you will have your old MAC Adress permanently.
