Anyone use the Barclays banking app in UK? I have tried Los, RR and Aex roms and it will not run on any of them, I guess they are all based on Los?
Looking for a stock rom that it will work on or a workaround as I use the app every day. I know it will not work on rooted phones but then it just gives error message but it's currently just stuck on opening splash screen.
If no solution I will have to go back to MIUI.
Forget this question as it looks like it was updated today and they managed to break it lol.
They managed to break it? The app or what?
I'm in same situation and need to get the app working
AFAIK, that banking app checks if the bootloader is locked. If it's unlocked it will refuse to work.
I ended up back on miui global as could not get banking to work on any custom rom. Just gave up.
Anyone else?
I'm looking to order this phone but need the Barclays to to work 100%. Ideally I'd like to remove the stock firmware to get a more vanilla android experience, but only if the Barclays bank app works...

Have you tried using Magisk? That is the entire purpose of Magisk, it hides root and unlocked bootloader.

I did but still failed last time I tried. Unless something has changed it will not work on a custom rom.

Been a month or so since I last tried so something may have changed. Does it give you the option of setting it up? Usually it goes to next screen and says it will not work die to phone being rooted. May have to give it a go again.

I tried it with magisk 14.5 on aex 5 and it does indeed work but I don't like that rom as too many bugs for me. I tried RR nougat rom and it will not work on that either with magisk 14.5 or 14. Itwill not work if I unroot either. Barclays just says it will not work on rooted phones.
PITA to be honest but its not the fault of custom roms, its because the barclays app is too choosy.

You don't have to unistall the xposed framework, you can solve this by going into /system using a file manager and you must search for "xposed". You'll see many files and archives, so what you have to do is to rename all of them with a " . " before the name of the file. This will hide the files. When done, you can login your snapchat. Don't forget to remove the dots when you have finished or you won't be able to use xposed
this what worked for me good luck!

You can't flash Xposed in EMUI. Well there is a modified stock ROM for our phone that you can flash Xposed with, I recommend that you flash a custom ROM first. Go try CM first for size.

CM is closer to stock android than EMUI with little customizations, so if u want stock android experience go for it.
There are CM12.1 and 13 for us. CM13 is official with nightlies and it has Fingerprint support too. Go for it.
I would say that CM13 is much smoother than EMUI B360. While battery backup may vary, the trend I found was B130>CM13>B360. All 3 of them had xposed+amplify+greenify installed. B360 has VoLTE support, so if u are using Jio then u get True Voice calls(tho there's not much difference). IMO there is little reason to stay on B360 other than VoLTE.

If you are in B360 right now, you can't flash custom ROMs. You need to downgrade to B350 or lower because it will bootloop.
You should try the latest nightly of CM.
The pros and cons will depend on your personal preferences.
CM is vanilla Android with some modifications for performance, while stock ROM is EMUI which has the looks of iOS.

Alot more apps seem to be detecting root nowadays, and after Googling solutions I can't seem to find anything that works anymore.

I still am looking into it, if it could work for RR too..
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rom-aospextended-rom-v1-2-t3506955/page112
Running lineage os 14.1 latest nightly (always). Every time I turn on usb debugging, just exiting the settings and entering again shows it disabled.
Running titanium backup asks for it to be enabled but it keeps turning off.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Try magisk su instead. I have usb debugging disabled & TB works just fine. Anyway, I'm using RR rom.

Have been thinking of using RR but the backup is the problem. Let's see.
Can you pass safetynet using RR and Magisk?
By the way, how fast is RR. With so many customization options, does it lag or not?

I don't need safetynet so...But I'm pretty sure you'll find how to bypass it in Magisk forum. For me RR is fast as all other roms that I tried (with or without a lot of customization) & no lag at all. The better is, when you have some free time, make a backup of your current rom & try RR, so you can take you own conclusions. BTW, battery (SOT) is great too

Already tried it before your post. Seems a lot better than others. Can not pass safetynet and I guess updating will be a bit of hassle but am sticking with it for now.

Wanted it for Pokemon Go but am not such a huge fan that I have to have it. I can live without it for now.
It's a very small tradeoff when I look at customization, battery and ram management etc.

Don't want to see you unhappy. Didn't tried with pokemon but this should work. Go to magisk, check magisk hide, then choose the app that you want to hide. See the pics attached.

Lineage latest with built-in root and an app iSu from XDA labs. Passing safety net like a pro
iSu lets you automate hiding the root. Hides and un-hides automatically when you run and quit the game.
Using magisk hide somehow made me loose my root on RR official. Did not try it again and went back to lineage.

You don't need to flash a custom kernel. It just works on the lineage kernel.
