Hi, there,
Just come with my new A1612 watch, but can't get GPS connected. Tried factory reset and begin exercise on open space and no luck.
Flashed Pacefied rom and stable rom still not works. Is there anything I missed before use GPS?
Thanks a lot!
Especially the first time it takes quite some time to get GPS.
When you select run/trail/bike and it goes around and doesn't find anything, try again.
Especially without AGPS ( the app can sync that, but who knows when it does ) it takes time.

I upgraded to the new Beta ROM, and it would appear that I'm the only one that's lost all ability to use Bluetooth on my Mogul.
I've tried asking around within the main threads but the fast pace of them has led to my posts being buried. I just need to know if there's any reg edits or CAB'd downloads that I can use to reactivate Bluetooth on my phone.
I really don't want to Hard Reset or reflash my phone and go through the ROM process again(outside of Bluetooth, it was a great install for me).
Anyone able to help?

*cough* Does nobody have the answer? I really don't want to Hard Reset.
Bluetooth is working fine for me. I don't what else to tell you.
Just did Hard Reset. We'll see what happens.
EDIT: I'll be damned. It actually worked, Bluetooth is working now.
Well, best get to crackin' on reinstalling info and all that on my phone now.
as you inswtall apps and do whatever settings and tweaks you do keep checking BT, maybe you can find out what killed it

Exactly what I'm doing. I'm thinking that when I initally reinstalled programs, I ignored restarting when certain programs said to, and just waited to restart after "installing" everything.
This time, I'm taking it slow and paying attention.
still doing ok? always remember that as long as the rom has sucessfully installed, a hard reset wont hurt your phone, but just reset it like its the first time you've used it

Works flawlessly now, on all fronts.
I fully recommend to everyone that whenever they do a ROM flash, always do 1 hard reset after the flash just to make sure everything's kosher.
Also, when installing programs, if they ask you to restart the phone after the installation is complete, just do it. It's not gonna make things easier by just doing 1 single restart after installing 50 programs on your phone.
Hey guys,
I recently upgraded my phone ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402027 ) and it seems to have killed my gps. i have just loaded up 3.39 and dcd 3.1.6. I ran all the cabs like i was told and then installed all my programs, including gps gate, the htc gps tool, quick gps, and iguidance.
Before when i had the 3.35 i would get a lock in my house within 3-6 minutes. but since the upgrade i have been unable to get a lock. GPS gate always stays in yellow (running ok but not getting positional data) and if not, it is red with the message invalid data coming from the serial port. Iguidance constantly sees satellites but is unable to get a lock sometimes seeing as many as 8-9 satellites but simply unable to get a lock. same goes for the htc gps tool.
Frustrated by this, i read about the Titan gps fix, that required going through qpst programing , and read that many Verizon users have had success simply using this fix. After trying this fix, my situation has not changed and i am still unable to get a lock. I figure i might go and try driving around with this phone tomorrow seeing if i am able to get a lock outside my home.
If you guys have seen anything like this and have a word of wisdom i would love to hear about it.
Have you tried a hard reset? If that fails, re-flash the phone. 3.39 should not have killed your GPS, but it's possible that the GPSone chipset simply failed on its own. I personally had this happen to my XV6800.....
I have done a hard reset and re-installed all my apps, Iam still unable to get a proper lock on my phone as of right now using google maps or gpsgate. I am going to reflash 3.39 along with the dcd again tommorow to see if that will fix; before i do that i am going to make sure that the hard reset did or did not fix it by driving around and seeing if i get a lock then.
You shouldn't need to drive around. In my experience, locks tend to be quicker when you are standing still. I've never tested it, but it at least seems that way. So just stay in the same place (and save gas $$$). To simply reinstalling all your apps, use user configuration or Sashimi (my preference)
Heh, Looks like i spoke to soon, I went it seems that my google maps just got a lock so i assume everything is working as it should now.
I really appreciate all the support guys.
Sweet, let us know if you have anymore issues. Also, a commonly overlooked step is to enable the Location ON setting instead of 911 only.
Verizon TP - Scroslers rom
My phone was working great until the rainbow touch screen issue(again!!!!!). My replacement came 2 days ago. I flashed the new one with the same rom and then used sprite backup to restore my phone to exactly how the old one was.
everything looked good. It was the first time i did a full restore like that and its restored the new phone to the last txt received, email, even saved game state. Perfect....
But GPS isnt working. Ive checked the settings. and i think they are right. I cant fix on anything using the HTC gps tool/google maps/vz nav/live search. not one sat.
Ive re installed the gps fix, still nothing. Anybody got an idea?
Nothing?....
Please help me..
This is the first time that i have had this troublesome phone work the way i want in 3 of them and multiple flashes.
I can now flash and back up with sprite, every thing works great. Someone, please take the time to walk me through my gps issues. no connection at all. Please, ill provide any info. I have htc gps tool wiith baud 4800 com 4. Quick gps,.....it does not connect...
Have you reverted back to stock and make sure everything works then? Upgrade radio? In gps tool update quick gps, slect clear memory, select open let run for 15 seconds then close. Then select warm start check repeat let run for 10 sec then select nav init. Check your sats.
Ive been reapplying the fix a couple times a day and then all of a sudden it started working.
*Shrugs shoulders*
guys, i can't let the gps using satellite in my optimus one to work...
always says "Waiting for location" .... like using the carhome or the navigation bundled applications pre-installed...
any fix please?
You have to wait for a lock. That's normal.
Also, Try waiting for a lock outdoors. GPS signals aren't as strong as the ones used in SMS and stuff.
@ kp
ive tried waiting for quite a long time but nothing happened...tried also outdoor but the same...
ive tried using GPS Test application to located GPS Satellites, and indeed it can locate some with low to average signals...but when i am going to use the pre-installed applications for tracking my location, it still can't.
ive searched the net and someone also is having the same problem using LG Optimus One as well.... >.<
Depending on your firmware this might be a bug. There were GPS problemes reported with certain firmwares. But you have to be patient too, because sometimes it takes a while until 2 or more satellites are found and locked.
You can try using free app like "Ulysse Gizmos" on monitoring gps, especially on lockon status.
& also try this tips to access the internal gps test menu @ link: goo.gl/ZFs6D
Our LG Optimus One P500 code is 3845#*500#
Do let us know how it goes.
Good luck!
I use the P500 whitout a data connection. So does have a sense set the gps in A-GPS or if i have the data not active i have to set it in a GPS Standalone?
restart phone and try again
are u using da stock rom?
@Hesediel
If you don't have data conection you cann't receive any maps, but it's no problem to use a-GPS. But without data you will simply have the geo-data, no maps. So that seems to make no sense.

Yes but i would like to buy an offline navigator like sygic, copilot, ndrive, something like that not the google maps/navigatopr for now, so it's better i use gps as standalone or is the same setting it as a-gps ms based?
it's a known problem.
I've got a p500 without data connection (I'm using wi-fi only).
The first week after flashing my phone the gps works fine.
Then afer a week the gps fix begins to be sloooow.
After a month it is very slow.
So I have to do an hard reset to turn the gps works well again.
Any utility (like gps status) that try to reset the gsp... fail.
The only known solution... is a ... sadly... hard reset.
I hope the someone will be able to write an application to do the same thing like the gps hard reset.
Use fasterfix, you can find this in android market.just search for "fasterfix"
Requires root, busybox and data connection during the initial GPS lock time.
Your gps will get a fix within seconds.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
I have a problem with custom rom ( openoptimus) and gps.It takes to much time to lock to gps and sometimes i have to reset the phone in order to work...I have download the faster fix but it hasnet work

Well, i have the same problem and used the same solution. But now I just wait. Sometimes I "cold start" gps with GPS Status or even the "hidden" gps test menu and after waiting a little or a lot (30s or 10min) I get GPS fix. Anyway, restarting the phone seems to work well too.
Hello.
I just want to share some conclusions and workarounds/solutions for GPS and Ingress app problems I've encountered almost a year and made some tests through this time.
I am using p760. Last year, when I had stock JB 4.1.2 I found out about Ingress, and I fell in love with concept of this game.
However, my phone, to be more precise GPS refused to work properly with Ingress app. It wasn't able to hold a GPS location, it drifted a lot, and overall it was searching for signal way more time than being fixed. Since this game heavily depends on precise location, it was a huge frustration to play it. At the same time apps like Endomondo, maps, etc worked flawlessly. I googled various solutions as far non-rooted phone allows, and some apps, nothing worked.
At the same time I tried Ingress I was researching about Cyanogenmod and other projects alike. I thought it might come in help.
After moving to CM 10.1.3 (4.2.2) the same story repeated. A rooted phone gave new options to try new things, but nothing helped again, no modifiying gps.conf file thousand times, nothing.
CM 10.2.1 (4.3) (I was on this for few months, didn't care about GPS that much since it was winter) and some builds found here based on CM 11 (4.4) were complete disaster, GPS refused to work at all, again I went through tons of GPS apps, gps.conf and other gps related system files modifying, nothing helped. Only app, which was able to get fix to multiple satellites was "GPS Helper". Leaving app open for 10 minutes under clear sky, it slowly got fixes up to 8 sattelites. After that other apps worked with GPS for few minutes, but the effect quickly faded away and all satellites were lost eventually.
Then after clearing cache/dalvik cache I returned to my 4.2.2 backup and what a suprise! After booting Ingress as a first app, it quickly found my location and held it quite good with no noticable problems for like 20 minutes. No searching for signal, no drifting.
When I closed Ingress and turned off GPS toggle and later booting up Endomondo, it wasn't able to get signal, it kept searching.
Closed Ingress, turned off and on GPS, booted Ingress, got fix, jumped to Endomondo and it also got excellent signal and worked fine.
Through testing on freshly installed 4.2.2 roms of Cyanogenmod and MIUI here is my assumption:
Ingress is a weird app which handles some kind of GPS related cache differently than any other app and requires some kind of privileged access. For Ingress to work fine with GPS it should be booted first after fresh install/cache+dalvik cache cleared. It will get GPS location, however a downside for this - you should boot later Ingress first to get fix if you need GPS for other apps. Currently I can confirm this only for Endomondo.
In other words, here is what you do step by step:
1) Back up your files, wipe data, cache and dalvik cache (or you can just wipe cache+dalvik cache on your currently installed rom and skip steps 2 and 2.1)
2) Install any Android Rom/backup up to 4.2.2. Avoid 4.3 and 4.4 Roms, if they didn't work for you, they will not work this time.
2.1) In case of backup, wipe cache + dalvik cache again
3) Boot phone. Be sure no any other app has used GPS after wipe.
4) Launch Ingress. Get GPS fix.
5) Now your Ingress should be much smoother. (As I said only downside - you should boot Ingress first to get GPS for other apps.)
6) To confirm that Ingress has influenced "GPS cache" by it's own terms, close Ingress, turn GPS off, reboot phone, turn GPS on, launch Endomondo. If app cannot find location and keeps searching, you are ok. Boot Ingress and use GPS for Endomondo after that.
7) In case if Ingress have the same issues as previously and Endomondo can find location by itself, do cache+dalvik cache wipe again and try from 3rd step again.
Hope this is helpful for somebody.

Oh bummer, Im loving my p768g with the Resurrection remix ROM, 4.4.2 found here.
Nonetheless, thank you for sharing this workaround, Im sure many people who rely on GPS will find this most useful.
People like you make this great community what it it.
I think the developers will find solution for gps. But thanks anyway for great job. Sorry for bad English.!
