Hardbricked Moto E XT1506 - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I've been running Android 5.0.2 on my Moto E2 for the past 2 years. After getting numerous OTA notifications, I decide to update to 5.1. I downloaded it today and let it run. Recovery booted up and when the update reached about 60%, the screen went blank and ever since won't turn on or charge. My device has around 90% battery. Can't get the phone to boot into fastboot or turn it on.
As this is currently my only device, I need it to turn on. Would appreciate any help in unbricking the phone.
My model number is XT1506 and it's a Indian Version. Yes, I was on Stock Android with unlocked bootloader and stock recovery.

Nope. It doesn't recognize it as the above rather recognizes it as a Qualcomm Device.

I'm afraid it's hard brick, check out this thread of the bike G, for the E the only solution is to change the motherboard ...

Stuck on LG Security Error

I have the MetroPCS lgms769, I tried unlocking the bootloader but I guess I messed up some how. My screen had the touch screen problem, so I tried flashing again but now I'm stuck on security error. No matter what I do, I cannot get fastboot drivers to install for my phone. I've tried several times. It just sits there at waiting for omap44xx device. I've done the steps right to the T, My computer makes the sound as something connected then disconnected, then connected again and then once again disconnected. I've watched under device manager but I see nothing coming up, even when I do view all devices. I've booted into S/W upgrade mode but my phone is not detected. I can't boot to anything, it just goes to security error, shuts off, and boots showing my battery charging. I've installed all drivers through the LG website that goes with my phone. When my phone was working, I connected the usb and switched to every mode for it to install drivers. I'm on Windows 8 64 bit. Could someone please help me?

Funny you should mention this. I too have the same problem!! I spent all night to no avail! I managed to get clockwork to install, flash the backwards touch problem fix, but then when I attempted to install a Pacman 4.3 rom the phone rebooted to the Security Error Lg logo!! I can't flash any KDZ now because at 15% it loses a connection! I tried the Fastboot method and ADB just would not detect my phone! Pulling the battery out and having the phone connected to usb makes the device manager go nuts! Omap device pops in and out and wont stop! Thankfully I have the Tmobile premium handset protection package, so Ill get a replacement p769bk but OMG people don't try to unlock the boot loader on this device! Its not worth the risk and complexity/trouble!! Stick to root access and be happy! Wait and pray someone smart enough can figure out how to unlock the boot loader easily and with minimal risk! Before I messed with my phone I was on the OTA update v20F. I flashed to the V20B 760 KDZ and used the hex edited bin file that goes with it. Just don't do it! Its not worth the backwards menu/logo/touch headaches! Be warned!
I wound up taking it back to metropcs and I'm getting a new one in 3-5 days, they didn't charge me since the guy said it was a software problem and I was still within the 30 days

Good deal. Like I said before to anyone who reads this post:
Head my warning or you'll probably end up like the both of us!.
I really like this phone but damn! Why does LG have to lock the boot loader..? I miss having Cyanogen Mod. I mean my old P999 G2x wasn't this hard to get CWM/Root on it!
Somebody save the day! Find the key to a simple boot loader unlock! (V20F) This phone deserves it!
Hey you posted in the wrong place, anyways fastboot probably didn't work because you are on Windows 8.

Thanks for trying to help but I tried to use that app and it still failed to detect my phone. I don't think I'll try it again. We need a new one click wonder app before I'll attempt this again. Also I don't think I like having a backwards LG logo stuck on my phone, ( I did not know that was going to stay there) yet alone some strange image mirror bug with the lock screen. It corrected itself if you hit the power button and wake it but if you reboot the phone it comes back.

You can fix that with the proper u-boot.

Issues rooting and Downgrading. Factory Reset Status 2.

I got my LG G3 yesterday night and I tried rooting it for hours, I was on Andrioid 5.0.1 and couldn't get it to work after 6 hours of trying so this morning I tried to downgrade back to stock firmware and now everytime I try I get the Factory Reset Status 2 screen and I am told to just remove the battery and it'll boot but nope it just goes back to the same screen. This is becoming a nightmare I have tried multiple PC's Operating Systems, drivers, firmware files, and multiple tutorials and I cannot fix this.
I think the issue is when the phone reboots instead of being a COM port it becomes a MTP device so LG Flash Tool can't find the device.
I really need help, I didn't plan on spending the whole day trying to fix this but it seems I am going to have to.

Bricked phone after Flashing Custom Rom

My Lg G5 (Tmobile) keeps on rebooting to recovery mode (TWRP) no matter what rom I flash. I tried using LG Up software but no matter how many times I install the driver phone is not recognized. Firstly I flashed Fulmics ROM then I installed LineageOS (Cyanogenmod) after that phone was working fine for a while till I saw an update and tried updating it to new nightly version. Please help me out if anyone knows how can I fix this issue.
You probably need to put the phone in download mode and then try LG up otherwise try pushing a rom that works through adb

I am sure this method would fix it but I already returned my phone and got new one as I had 1 year warranty. I bought it from T-mobile and I locked the bootloader before turning in the phone so it doesn't look like I was trying anything fishy. Now instead of phone going to twrp each time it goes to boolop saying "device is currupted and won't boot". It won't go to recovery mode no matter what I do and hope I don't get charged from T-mobile saying this and that.
However, I am really grateful to all of you great people who tried their best to help and you sir actually threw me a solution but I was too impatient to wait for it. I know this method will work no matter what as I had been using this tool for my G2 in old days and fixed the worse bricks where I had to openup the whole phone take battery out and stuffs like this. I was looking for this method found everything but LG tool asked me for .dll file which I couldn't find anywhere and decided to give up on it...
Thank you for your help and now I know I am not going to be bricked anymore as I have this method to work with in future issues and am her waiting badly for Xposed to be available for Nougat.

Good to hear that, You are welcome,
And as you mentioned about "device is corrupted and won't boot", that's because you locked bootloader. And as you were using twrp which means modified system partition so phone said that. But you can still go to download mode and use the method to make it live or can try unlocking bootloader to start twrp.
I experienced similar situation. I thought I had to send my phone for repair. As I was able to put the phone to download mode, I used uppercut with downloaded kdz file from LG G5 development thread and restored my phone. I didn't use my phone for four days thinking that I had to take to a phone shop or send to service center. But after careful reading of unbrick tutorials, I brought my phone back to life. Now I can play flashing anything as I am confident that I can easily unbrick my phone.

A few days ago I got my G5 H830 and came with version 6.0.1 h83010i, looking for information on how to install custom rom, I read the post to install the .TOT file to be able to install TWRP and through this the Custom Rom, until there is Everything okay, I did everything right, but then I decided to go back to the Rom stock, on the night of that same day I saw that when I reboot my cell phone it stuck on the LG logo and it had some color pixels damaged (but no screen Damaged, if not because of small brick) then force a restart and continued the same, I did factory reset by stock recovery and then normal start, I went to sleep leaving it in 100% battery, and when I wake up in the morning the cell phone It is off, when I turn it on 5% and I get scared, then I wanted to go back to custom rom to leave those problems behind, but then when I install the TOT again and install the custom ROM it will restart half installed and any rom that installed it would stay Stuck and the LG logo and a bootloop until when it was flash the kdz several times until the cell did not want to ignite more, the pc does not recognize it or anything, I need help with this.

Stuck in Firmware Update Mode

I recently purchased two new VS988 for an elderly friend of mine who loves his current G6 and was worried about LG getting out of the phone business. Trying to get the phones all set up for him I tried running the OTA updates which kept failing. After the OTA update process failed a dozen times or more I decided to try using the Windows VZW update utility. Finally, after a dozen tries the VZW utility finally managed to DL the FW to my computer but when it tried to install the FW it booted the phone into FW Update Mode and then failed to install. I have tried all of the listed methods of button presses to reboot the phone into any other mode but it always comes back to FW update mode. This morning I learned about the LGUP program and have given that a try and it stops at 4% with an error message that says "Error: 0x700A, ManipulateBootPT Failed"
I'm not sure what else to try. I'm using the cable that came in the box and a USB port on the back of my computer.
Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated.
Maybe turn of recovery mode
How am I supposed to do that? No matter what buttons I try pressing when rebooting the phone it always comes back into FW Update Mode. I tried running the recovery process and the Verizon updater program and that had the same problem.

I don't recommend advice from that guy
The problem your having is stuck in download mode.
As long as you're not connected to a PC via USB and actively transferring a firmware file, you should be able to force shutdown by removing the battery and placing it back in (if possible) or pressing and holding Power for about 20 seconds. Then power on again normally.

Hey, did my information help?
Unfortunately nothing has worked I just ended up with two bricked phones. Thankfully they were just supposed to be back up phones for somebody that is unlikely to need them and can afford buying another replacement if something ever actually does happen to his primary. He has a lot of accessibility issues in a really prefers having the the buttons on the back of the phone so he doesn't keep turning it off accidentally.

If your android was stuck in recovery mode (as i know it), you could of just factory reset right?
forgive me it's been a couple of months since I bothered messing around with them but I believe it's not a generic recovery mode you know where you've got those four text options at the top you know and the Android with the exclamation point coming out of its chest but instead it's a firmware update mode. No amount of software tools or button key presses and we'll get the phones to do anything else. Both phones are dead right now cuz I just wanted to confirm what I was telling you whatever they managed to charge up later I will make sure what I'm saying is correct and I will let you know otherwise
If this is the screen you see, then i regret to inform you that your phone might have been bricked the entire time and you couldn't save it (unless you get new firmware for you device and install it). Trust me i had this experience before.
This is what I get. I try running the the Verizon LG update utility on the computer and after it reaches 11% or something like that it fails

Welp, my last geuss at this is that the previous owner got something like a virus to prevent the firmware update to continue. i've only worked with lg phones a few times, but those phones where very old (2008) and did not run android
Thanks for trying. I've given up and my friend didn't even get upset about it. Whatever went wrong happened when I tried to manually update them because the OTA kept failing. If he buys any more backups in the future I'll find him something a little more recent.

Question Your device is corrupt. It can’t be trusted and may not work properly.”

I have a pixel 6a that I successfully rooted but when I tried to unroot it something went wrong. When I restarted the phone I got a message saying
Your device is corrupt. It can’t be trusted and may not work properly.” then it was stuck on the Google logo. I managed to get it unstuck but then when it restarted I got the error message again and it shut off. Now the phone will not turn on at all. I tried charging it for hours. I tried forcing it to turn on with every ossible button configuration I could think of. It is completely unresponsive. Please help. I literally just reviewed it from Google Fi a week ago

Are you on A13?
Did you have, at the minimum, the A13 bootloader on both slots?
What method did you use to uninstall Magisk?
What happens when you connect phone to computer?
Will Android Flash Tool recognize it? If so, use that to flash back to stock.
Try holding the power button down for at least 30 seconds?
If you were on A13 and didn't have the A13 bootloader on both slots, when bootlooping your phone may have reverted to the A12 slot. If so, your device may be a brick due to the new ARB and you should probably RMA it.
Yes it was A13. And nothing happens when I connect it to my laptop. And I'm not sure what you mean by "both slots". My apologies... This is my very first time rooting and trying to unroot a device
I am also using Linux. So I don't really know what other tools I could or should try other than sdk platform tools.

Did you do this after updating to A13?
It's a hard brick as per the link in the above post.
But why root, then unroot?
What steps did you take?
It would be helpful to others to find out where you went wrong.

Why not post this in Pixel 6a forum?
@Cheesymatt661 Okay so you have unlocked bootaloder + fastboot is working right? One of my friend also faced this and what he did was flashed latest (A13) factory images to both A & B slots separately and that's it. It was simple as that for him.
