My S3 is a few days old and I can't quite stand this pillar of yellow going across the midsection of the screen. I posted a screenshot of Chrome without any tabs open, which is a dark grey background (pardon the reflection of a a string of christmas lights at the top). It's also noticeable on white backgrounds, e.g. scrolling through Google Newsstand, articles from the bottom have a cool white background to a yellowish white as they scroll up How does yours compare? Is it better or worse? If you were me, would you exchange it? I'm unhappy with it, but I feel like I'll likely just end up with something as bad or worse if I get another one... AMOLEDs are such a gamble. Any feeback is appreciated.

I'd definitely change it if you haven't already. Once you know it's there it'll just bug you. More people than you'd think aren't bothered by uniformity issues and have a very "meh" attitude. Probably why there's no replies here. Good luck with it!

Alright...
This is stupid.
Report if you have the same thing... It doesn have a massive pink dot like old HD7, but it has like a ring of pink (noticable) when you take a picture.
Have never seen this before.

yes! i have this issue, do you think htc would replace the phone for us?
I noticed this immediately, when I got my phone. I made a thread on WPCentral about it but no one replied. Lol. I tried the same picture on my Blackberry Playbook and I was shocked to see it had this too, but to a much lesser degree. I mostly notice it from incandescent lighting.
Yup, have been noticing it recently. I didn't notice it at first though... what changed?
Or maybe it's just in certain kinds of conditions, when the auto-adjust kicks in?
i would say it comes from cheap hardware. But the fact the shift is perfectly in the center is weird (lense problem ?)
Not sure it can be easily really fixed by update
Hi!
If you look at the posted image, there are areas with red pixels.
I get these at various places and I haven't found why it is happening.
It seems to be software related (opengl lib?), although I've gotten it on several roms.
If anybody knows please help me.
Thanks on beforehand!

bump
I noticed it only appears after the tablet been used and the CPU gets a little warm.
Maybe time to contact Samsung?
If it's transient and temperature related, visible on different screens once it appears I'd think so. Seems like a defective panel perhaps.
If your tab is still under warranty (I'm guessing it is) I'd definitely take it to Samsung to have a look at.
The picture sure does not look like everything is alright ...
Have no idea what it could be though, as I've never seen something like that happen to a Gtab
I notice there's like a small dent/warp looking area under the glass in the screen. It's only visible if you have the screen off and reflecting off some light like a desk lamp or something. Also it's easier to see if you tilt it and look at it from an angle and not just straight down at it.
It doesn't affect the performance and it doesn't blur/distort anything when I'm using it but I can see it's there. Do any of you have that under your screens? I mean it's not a huge deal but my ocd is kicking in haha.
Yup same here.
I noticed it recently under a bed lamp, its like a tiny warp kinda thing on the top half of my screen.
Maybe a few unlucky devices have this minor manufacturing defect?

Looks like the LCD display has flaws, have anyone contact the Samsung service?
hey guys, i got a yellow spot on my display that is kinda growing slowly.
does anyone know by what this can be caused?`i guess it might be a heatproblem but i am not sure. yellow spot is next to the volume buttons.
my idea is, that it´s the gpu or cpu or something heating up, that might caused the yellow taint, but this is just a guess.
i know it´s a hw issue. so what is the best that i can do now?
writing the reseller? (i am in germany, bought the phone on gearbest)
or
contact xiami? is it even possible?
did anyone else experience the same?
suggestions are welcome
edit: is it enough to just put on a custom rom if i´ll send it in or should i flash miui?
here a picture of the display.

Happens sometimes when water gets in between the screen. (some glue got removed, there are lots of things)
There is nothing to be done. A screen is cheaper than sending it back to china
Hi, Pictures say it all. Do you think that this screen is faulty? It presents anything with black scenes (like black bacgrounds here, netflix, youtube) looking like shiit.
There are some blobby pixelated stuff going on on black images and videos. Phone is new, never dropped pure condition.
I've read about some "black crush" issues with those displays. Do you think this is it ? Because I think this display is faulty. Anyone experienced such issue ? This black crush definitely would not be to such a huge extent imho. This is 100% not a compression issue because on my other phones, tv and computer black background looks like background and not like this shiit.
Anyone experience similar issue ?
Android version is 12.
