so I flashed twrp 3.1.1.0 mido for redmi note 4 and then as soon as I pressed reboot, it was stuck on mi logo.
i think its bricked but I don't know for sure. I read some place that dw verity must be disabled in twrp recovery. but I didn't find any option of dw verity in twrp settings.
so I took backup of my data and now I'm hoping to find a way to boot my device without losing my data.
I'm open to installing a custom ROM too if that solves the problem.
(I'm a noob )
to disable dm verify just flash lazyflasher.zip .you will find it easily in miui or xda forums in rooting threads.

Once you flash TWRP, you've to instantly boot to TWRP and flash lazyflasher.zip and then reboot. Otherwise you'll stuck at bootlogo.
Here's the link to lazyflasher : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862700328
How to fix :
*.Boot to fastboot mode
*.Flash TWRP using fastboot command fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img
*.Next, do not disconnect your phone, use fastboot command fastboot boot recoveryname.img
*.once you're in twrp, flash lazyflasher.zip
*.Reboot.

Since I don't have a PC, No idea on how to push a file using ADB.
Google it or xda search.
BTW, you can still put an SD card and flash lazyflasher.zip from SD card.

I just get stucked. You can plug your Phone to the PC via USB while in recovery mode and it will recognize your SD and you can copy your "lazyflasher". No need to reboot after copying the "lazyflasher", you can install it right away. Thanks for the Help!
I Can't even go to fastboot mode.
Thanks!! Work Bro

Once you're in fastboot then try to install twrp recovery.
Once you successfully install twrp, then boot into TWRP (either using volume up + power button combo, or fastboot command without quotes
Code:
" fastboot boot recoveryname.img "
)
Once you're in twrp, wipe everything except internal storage and install a new rom and reboot.

Hi, just sorry for my lameness. Once the fastboot icon appears, what do I do? Should I connect to a laptop or desktop? Can I download twrp from google search and install in the laptop and then connect the phone to laptop? Can you help further? I am from India. ADB-Fastboot, basically your going to 'adb sideload' and flash a ROM from your computer. Its not that hard. Just read everything
You can also root your phone via abd, so I don't understand your problem

Try to flash TWRP 3
Extract twrp.img and rename it to recovery.img
Install xiaomi usb drivers
Extract adb drivers anywhere in your computer
Copy recovery.img ( renamed it to only recovery) into adb tools folder
Boot your phone into fastboot mode by pressing volume down key and pressing power key simultaneously , and then releasing power key .
Connect your Redmi Note 2 to your computer through data cable
Go into adb tools folder => while pressing shift key => right click => and click open cmd here !
Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and press enter.
After flashing TWRP through adb flash the lite version http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-2/development/rom-slimmiui-dev-stable-t3296594

the problem is not enter into recovery.
the first time i have flash wrong twrp. when i enter in recovery, by hardware procedure, in the bottom of screen i read version of twrp.. and is version twrp 3.0.0r2. this is a wrong version!
then.. i do flash from pc, flash operation success.. and ONLY with command "fastboot boot XXXXX.img" , where xxxx.img is name of recovery i have flash before, i can enter in correct twrp.
i don't know why, but i think i can't flash and fix the correct version of twrp. bhooooooooooo!
edit:
problem solved..
i have rename twrp img file in "recovery.img" and i have flash it in fastboot mode by pc..
i have try to enter in recovery with adbo command (adb reboot recovery) and phone reboot in correct twrp version;
then i have try to enter in recovery with hardware procedure (poweroff, volume up + power and release power when appear Mi logo, tap on "recovery") and it work;
and, in the end, i have try to nter in recovery mode by app "updater"
all works perfectly now!

Hi,, i've successfully unlocked my redmi 3 bootloader, and now there's root permission option in security app. I tapped it and confirmation prompt to get root acces appear, i click ok, then my device download something (my assume its root file), and reboot by it self after. Now i have rooted redmi 3 with unlocked bootloader but no superSU installed.
I want to install twrp recovery which is official now for redmi 3, i've read about dm-verity thing in our redmi 3 and still confused about it.
Can i just install twrp recovery thru twrp manager app from play store? If yes, can i go into twrp recovery via updater app.?
Thanks in advance.

Congratulations you just followed the official method of getting root access successfully, root access is not from SuperSU but from MIUI itself, it's in the Security app.
You can, but the phone won't boot anymore then, because of the dm-verity thingy. So in another word, you have to disable it by flashing a modified boot image, I'm not sure but some custom ROM might have come with the modified image already, but MIUI ROM definitely doesn't, it is certain you'd get a boot loop after flashed TWRP and try to boot into Android again. That's the simple explanation. And yes you can go to TWRP from updater app, it's the same thing as writing 'reboot recovery'.

Bootloader is unlocked. Help asap plz.

Hi,
if you flash Global Developer rom using Fastboot method, you will always flash a stock recovery with it.
There is a great manual how to unlock your device on official CZ and SK webpage created by local admins.
Just go to miuios.cz (translate it to ENG using browser like chrome or others) create an account to be able see the links.
Then on the main page scroll down to Redmi note 4 and check
[NÁVODY] - základné /Bootloader/TWRP/MIUI/ROOT
there is everything you need to unlock device with software you need.
All credits to miuios team.

I think is a problem about installation process (I had the same problem with another phone), but you can still access twrp with your computer. Just use this command: Fastboot boot "twrp.img".
Update "twpr.img" with your own twrp´s file name.
Wait untill phone´s reboot (more than 15s.)
Then use it as usual
Good luck

I ran into the same problem after unlocking the bootlader:
TWRP would not install -> [Vol+] + [Power] started only the MIUI recovery.
But after some search, I found that you have to:
enter in a terminal "fastboot flash recovery twrp-x.x.x-x-mido.img"
enter after that "fastboot boot twrp-x.x.x-x-mido.img"
My Note 4 then started in TWRP.
EDIT:
Corrected step 2

ADB doesn't work in Fastboot... fastboot.exe does. And that can only boot into itself (the bootloader), not the recovery.
Anyway, I solved the problem. Mine is a 4X not a Note 4X. Damn you Xiaomi... they are exactly alike!

As others have reported, I had the same issue too. I was able to boot to TWRP with the fastboot boot command above, but it looks like after you boot to the stock ROM (mine was MIUI V9.2.1.0.NCFMIEK as far as I remember), the TWRP recovery gets replaced by the stock one. After flashing LineageOS (official lineage-14.1-20180331-nightly-mido-signed.zip), I can now properly reboot to TWRP with Vol+ & Power.
Thanks for the tip @tinaeire :good:
Why aren't devs mentioning this in the instructions right after the recovery flash command? I'll never understand. I guess it's more MIUI's fault for being so weird about the bootloader.
TWRP boots stable
Press VOLUME-UP and POWER together, when you feel the vibration release the buttons.
-> boots into TWRP
If you hold the two buttons until you see the TWRP logo flash up and release them at that moment -> boots to MIUI.
Did that with phone mentioned below, TWRP 3.2.1, and MIUI Global 9.2 Stable.
I am also facing the same problem, please someone guide me thoroughly how to root my xiaomi redmi note 4 snapdragon global stable version. i have successfully unlocked my phone but i can't start it up in twrp recovery mode. please tell me all the steps and files necessary.

Once you flash TWRP via fastboot then use command fastboot boot xxx.img
So, you'll be able to boot to TWRP, next flash magisk for MIUI, install lazyflasher.zip and reboot and check if TWRP sticks.
i have the same issue after flash the twrp and it reboot back to mi recovery instead. However i am using redmi K20.
Found out that the issue is the twrp.img file that you flash must be a correct one that your download for your device.
If it is not the correct file ( my case is using redmi k20 pro instead of redmi k20 twrp.img), i will always failed and stay at mi recovery.
Hello everyone and sorry for my English I am French! I ask for your help because I have a little problem.
I tried to root my xiaomi redmi note 3 pro premium smartphone that I bought in China 2 years ago.
I unlocked the bootloader and then I installed adb on my PC, no worries.
Then I downloaded the TWRP from my smartphone (I took kenzo, I do not know if it's the one I had to take).
I unzipped the folder and renamed the image recovery.img that I copied to the adb folder.
Then I launched the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" then "fastboot boot recovery.img"
and then I restarted the smartphone by clicking on system (in TWRP) and since my phone remains locked to the Mi logo.
I have access to Fastboot and my smartphone is always recognized when I run the "fastboot devices" command.
And then I retried the manipulation and at the end I rebooted in recovery (in TWRP)
but it did not change anything.
Is there a way to get back to normal by keeping all the data on my smartphone? Or can I recover my data in another way?
Thank you in advance for your help !
First Why would you flash & then boot twrp? why dont just only flash and boot to recovery by Power + VOL UP to boot into recovery
and second What did you do when you're on twrp? You did not give us any details about that

I just wanted to root my smartphone (have administrator rights)
So I entered TWRP and it asked me for a password that I did not have so I clicked cancel then reboot then on system
(by searching on google I understood that this password would come from the diagram of unlocking of the screen or the sensor of impression and that without this password the data of the smartphone could not be decrypted)
Except that restarting the smartphone is blocked on the Mi logo.
I did not do anything else. (I wanted to download and installed SuperSU after reboot, but I did not do it).
Then I went back to TWRP because I can go back (but I can not see the data of the smartphone without the password that it asks me when I arrive in TWRP) and I made a wipe cache (in TWRP) but it has not changed anything.
just use xiaomi.eu if it present for ur device
