Hello,
tomorrow I'm getting my new X821. I would like to try out a stock ROM, and I've read that some ROM versions can cause severe malfunctioning. I am probably getting an indian ROM. What should I do with my phone as soon as I get it?
Which ROM version should I flash? 23s? And what is the best way to backup the ROM it's coming with?
Thank you!

Dear all,
I would like to flash my TP to a new ROM (for the first time). I did a lot of research already but I still have 1 question.
If I flash my TP to a new ROM can I hard reset my device again to the default stock ROM?
The reason I want to know this is because I have a Dutch stock ROM. I assume most of the coocked ROMs are in English. I have no idea if it is possible to switch back to the Dutch stock ROM. And most importantly how it is done.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,

The HR will not send you back to your default stock rom, it will only give you the current ROM plain as it was when you first flashed it. To get back to stock rom simply flash your stock rom. If you dont have it, go check the wiki for it, it should be there.
There are several posts on how to switch back to a stock ROM. There is even a database of stock ROMs in the wiki. Please use the Search function next time.
Also, there is a guide on how to stock to custom ROMs and stock ROMs. All of the necessary items are stickied.

Guys pls i need help to install 5.1 in my phone or return to my stock firmware. Only 1 week earlier i rooted my phone and update is release and i have installed twrp recovery how to return to my stock firmware to update my phone pls help or send me a link of stock firmware or instructions to install pls help...
Well let's see here, why did you root your phone in the first place and flash twrp?
I presume it was for a custom ROM. Unless you are selling your phone or giving it to service center, you have so many Marshmallow ROMs out here!!! Why would you want to return to stock!? Just why. You have Resurrection Remix for intense customization, the most trusted Cyanogenmod, You also have aosp caf if you really want a stock experience (Its just as stable as stock with no bugs). I just don't see why you should download 600mb worth data! You could have 2 custom ROMs and a kernel for that amount of data. IMO, don't........ Just don't
Hi! Yesterday my LG G5 is dead. So I had a crazy idea: could I resurrect my old Galaxy S3 and use it until black Friday arrives. Is a bad idea? Could you help me about a simple ROM?
Thank you in advance!
Update the phone to the latest stock ROM, flash TWRP, and look in the ROM development section for a suitable ROM.
Firstly thank u.
I have installed a resurrection remix 2 years ago... I have to install a ROM stock again?
No advice on a stable and "basic\light" ROM?
You didn't mention the baseband and modem version in the phone which is why I recommended installing the latest stock ROM because this will ensure that the phone is running the latest bootloader and modem.
I can't offer advice about a custom ROM because I haven't used an s3 for a long time.
