I saw that the Nougat update was available on Sammobile and a user here has posted a link also. The update isn't showing up on my phone but appears on the Windows Smartswitch app.

I only used Smart switch for the first time yesterday. After I plugged the phone in, there was a button to say that an update was available.
Update downloaded and applied within 90 minutes. It feels slightly smoother. Battery life is about the same.
There are some more options for AOD.

I have some kind of good news for you ! After twitting and chating with Samsung France, they told me that Android 5.1 Lollipop is coming to the Alpha really soon !
On Twitter Samsung France told me that the update IS rolling out in France but I still have nothing.
I had a chat with Samsung France on their website and they again told me that Lollipop 5.1 is coming but with no date.
Hope to see it soon on my Alpha !

I really don't trust SamsungFR twitter account. They said the same thing for 5.0 and it came 1.5 month after. And when it came out I told them it was out, their answer was "are you sure it's lolipop?"
EDIT: BTW, now when people ask about 5.1 update for Alpha, they answer "we have no informations about this...."
5.0 does not seem to be worth the trouble but 5.1 may be and M may have some great features like RAW Camera Support etc.
I am good with 4.4 until I know the Features.

The galaxy Alpha has nothing to do with the "A-series". But as Samsung got a 18month update policy, it most likely will.

Data turns on then off every second or so. I had it originally when I upgraded to Nougat because I had OEM unlocking turned on in developer options. This time it just did it, even trying various SIM cards. I will have another go this weekend, when I have more time.

Remove your simcard before you update and it will work as usual again
German G version and AU version most likely is the same... as currently we cannot really tell what is the main different between those G variant....

I couldn't possibly know this.
But there are a few things that might cause it:
You are not on the latest build.
Huawei ID email/account is not of the same region you try to sign up to.
Your country doesn't have beta.
You have rebranded.
These are the ones I suppose would cause trouble.

AFAIK, only BLA-L29(dual SIM) devices got beta so far.
Question plz, Have got single Sim BLA-L09 unlocked Optus here in Australia, any idea of when i can expect pie?

It would be good to share experiences.
First experience:
surfed for almost 1 hour, recorded clips and recordings, played music, started new crazy options, loaded with the site, played mobile on smart TV via the "smart board" option, adjusted the options. spent about 5 hours almost without interruption. The battery ran out from 100% to 78%, while nothing was out of the question.
-the "smart board" option gives you all the content of your mobile on TV and work your fingertips on the screen on TV, from e-mail, viewing clips to playing,
- the option for a "wallet" is relaxed, but in Serbia,
the screen of the mobile station is a smart board,
4K video recording,
in 720 resolution, the video clips can be slowed from 120 fps to 960 fps. Perfect.
Some strange things,
the Wifi signal is continuously plugged in and I can not touch it by touching it,
In the label it says that the battery is 100% and in the settings there is actual consumption, discrepancy or what.
Mobile does not heat up while the camera is working.
They were a bit trickier with notifications when using melody and tuning.
The last update I have received for my Uk m5 10.8 is with security update dated April 20
Will there be no more now with all the fuss with Google?
Don't think so.... Updates have been sporadic at best all the time and I think they stopped updating the m5
I've got a M5 8" and last update was May 2020.

According to https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/bulletin/ it is no more on the list. Has only just been removed, as it was there last month. So there might be one last patch left (optimistic me...)
Since I have a US model, it never received a major update and only sporadically received security updates. Very disappointing.

I agree - and it's nigh on impossible to get a branded tablet of the similar modern spec at a sensible price. Or one that gets updates.

I'm no lover of Samsung tablets - but the current S range are significantly more expensive than the M5 was.
Though I believe Samsung have promised more updates for certain parts of their range than they did in the past.
I mean the original Tab S from 2014.

Mines being offer 345. I need to get the URL to extract recovery img to root it. It's not listed in firmware finder. Anyone know how to find it?
Both of my SHT-W09's just updated to 345 version (September 2020 security patch level) here in UK. Haven't found any bugs. Pleased that these live to see another day, there's no tablets come close without paying 3 times as much for the Samsung.
