[kenzo] [Lineage OS 14.1] Phone reboot itself - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I'm using from six months or so the Lineage OS rom for my device. Since I changed rom from MIUI to this my phone reboots by itself like 3 times per day. I want to know if there is a solution for this problem except changing rom.
I also have flashed the franco kernel and magisk, if this can give you more necessary informations
Thanks in advance

Flash another rom

don't know why you're using an outdated kernel..use default kernel for best experience

I had the same problem on Lineage and OmniRom, so I wiped everything and installed ViperOS, all good

I recommend you flash the stock mi rom , then install TWRP then radio blobs and then install the ** LASTEST **rom that you need *i know this is what you did* , but since you are getting the error , please consider it .

Not kernel
Flashed whole old ROM back solved 2% bug
Unofficial RR has no such bug
N official RR till 20th build
N all others bfor July builds were fine to use without this bug

I've done that for several times. Didn't work.
I've noticed that there is no battery status, when booted in recovery mode. All available screenshots of TWRP (coffee, Alca) HAVE battery status.
Only TWRP 3.0.2.M4 by TheStrix shows battery, but it's stuck at 50%
Probably the root of evil is kernel, which doesn't support some modifications of battery controller.

Flash stock using MiFlash tool via edl mode doing so will over right the kernel to stock . then flash any lastest rom , and dont use the rom pakage that you used earlier . There are devices with different FP scanner and camera , modules but the OS/ROM/EMMC are the same for all the devices .

Newly updated July build kernels have that bug
Noticed by flashing 2 to 3 ROMs of July 2nd build
Kernel of a bit old build can also flashble in latest one that can probably solve this issue
But WiFi doesn't work
Damn...

Why All Android Nougat 7.0 / 7.1 ROM switching from WiFi to Data Connection so slow?

Dear All,
Good day to all of you, recently i has been try out the following Android Nougat 7.1 ROM for Redmi Note 3 Kenzo:-
1. crDroid v7.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rom-crdroid-android-t3483950
2. XenonHD v7.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/official-xenonhd-7-1-t3492504
3. CyanogenMod 14.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rom-cyanogenmod-14-0-xiaomi-redmi-note-3-t3459382
4. AOSCP v3.1 (Nougat 7.1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rom-t3481056
aside with the minor bugs on each ROM, i found out these ROM has a major bug whereby unable switch to Data connection automatically after disconnected from WiFi connection.
sometime needs to wait about 2 ~4 minutes only connected to data connection or worst still sometime need to restart the phone.
may i know did you guys having the same problem? any solution on this issue? if yes, please tech me how to do so.
thank you very much.
No problem at all on XenonHD and CrDroid.
No problem on CM14.1
Isn't this kind of thread more worthy of Q&A rather than Development?

Hey, I have the same issue ... But it's worst for me, I have no data at all. My APN is good and never has been an issue when i was on stock.
Did you find the solution ?
Didn't have such issue. It must have to do with the FW you're using, but still you can keep data on in developpers setting. This way you'll swap between wifi and data in no time . Hope it helps!

Thanks for the tip ! I tried it all day and never had any data.
I was on MIUI 8.1.1.0 I think (the latest possible).
I officially unlocked bootloader, then fastboot twrp, then flash Nougat and gapps. I tried some kernels but no luck .... Same for roms RR, Slim, CM14.1 ...
Second try, i wiped all, flashed firmware from TheStrix, Slim rom, superSu ans Gapps. Still not working.
Any Idea ? Do I need to flash MIUI 6.x before going on Nougat ?

I was on MIUI 8 global dev and flash twrp and Nougat ROM+gapps like you did and didn't get too much issue with the data. I'd suggest you delete and re-input your settings. If still not good. Flash MIUI again and this time don't wipe system. Wipe everything else except system!
Well, I did a backup and a full wipe. Then I flashed the beta of this rom (the V3 follow the dl link and it will show up) https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rom-citrus-caf-t3490675 then gapps and BOOUMM lte is working on 7.1.1
I was pretty happy with Slim Rom. I will try to flash it some time just to see if anything change.
Thanks for the help !

Been using it for like 2-3 hours, working pretty solid till now without encountering any bug. Battery is a little off compared to xiaomi.eu but I guess maybe because it is the first charge cycle. I haven't done any gaming yet,so not sure about the heating situation. Camera also works fine.
so in short,Yes it is usable as a daily driver.

That's for phones that support bokeh mode by default.
Installed last night, all went smooth. The performance is stellar and every is working fine. Only issue I had was that somehow my TWRP recovery was overwritten by Xiaomi recovery.
Oh btw you don't need any Google installer APK you can just download the installer from the included Mi app store.
I will test out the rom today but I think I will restore my Lineage backup till the EU version is out....... the rom is great but there is way to much Chinese bloatware [emoji6]

That is what official MIUI does ...
Always have a backup of your stuff not in the phone.
I do not use the official twrp, I use this https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-note-2/development/twrpscorpio3-2-1-1tools-6blue-t3798956
So that there are no problems if you are in MIUI make a backup and before putting the rom deactivate from the mobile the device search and the account of xiaomi
once done reboot in twrp and make full wipes internal memory included and format data (if it gives montage error restart twrp again and perform again full wipes and format data) restart in twrp again and install, should not give you any problem with encryption
I do it like that and have never given me problems
and I do not overwrite the twrp either

Yeh might be but i never installed official MIUI ROMs before this one. Anyway took me 30 sec to hook up ADB and then Fastboot flash TWRP back. I rooted with Magisk and now all is perfect might even stay on this if i can tweak a few things to my liking.

[Guide] [Mi 8] How to flash Poco F1 ROMs

1. Download a Poco rom that you want
2. Open the zip on your PC or mobile
3. Navigate to "META-INF/com/google/android"
4. Open the update-script with a text editor
5. Then remove every line at the beginig that starts with "assert" (they are almost always the first three lines)
6. Save it
7. Flash the ROM and a custom kernel for our device and enjoy it
(optional)
8. Flash this Magisk module to set the right build props for our device

This is the best guide I found yet!

Mi8 and Poco has almost the same hardware. That's why it works. Oxygen is for OnePlus and it's not similar as Poco.

Has anyone got the OxygenOS Poco Port to work on their Mi 8? I'm currently trying but it's not booting up.
This is what I've done:
-changed the OxygenOS update-script
-wiped data,cache,dalvik + system
-did factory reset
-flashed the rom (prepped OxygenOS)
-flashed Mi8 kernel
-flashed DFE
-flashed the vendor.img you need for OxygenOS
I see the Oxygen boot animation but after 5 mins of trying to boot my Mi 8 resets into recovery
Would really love an OxygenOS port for the Mi 8 so hmu if u got this to work

Question restarting and permissions issues

Has anyone had this problem on Xiaomi Redmi note 10 (sunny)?
for no reason it restarts, takes a while to start and all apps have their permissions removed.
I don't have any changes in the ROM, and it's also in the latest update.
I can't take it anymore, this is already being something constant and I've already tried the Hard Reset but the problem continues
Can someone help me?
Stock rom? I haven't had that kind of issue. Although I had the phone automatically restart sometimes but haven't encountered that in a long time.
