PLEASE help me, I have NO phone and I'm going to fail all my classes because of this! : (
'IMS Service has stopped' was repeatedly popping up making device unusable AFTER rooting and flashing theunlockr, "bloatware remover"
(beware S7 users!!)
This is what caused it and other S7 users are reporting the SAME IMS problem:
I factory reset and the popup was still there : (
I tried to flash the stock firmware with Odin but it failed multiple times, even after restarting & using another USB port.
Phone is now bootlooping or stuck in download mode, or telling me I need to run Smart Switch. Odin failed to flash stock. Smart Switch doesn't recognize SN.
ALL HELP APPRECIATED!

Hi Al,
Yesterday after update (Settings\About\Check for update) I'm not able to access settings screen, I have done factory reset twice already but it is still the same.
I'm not able to connect to the Kies, because I believe USB debugging is on, and I cannot turn it off because I can't get to settings. So my PC not recognizing phone now, so any update is impossible. Phone have never been rooted and it is Vodafone UK.
The fault: The application com.android.settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again
Any ideas how to resolved without sending to service?
Thanks for any help

So, you can start recovery mode, as you said that you have done factory reset twice.
I think that download mode (Volume DOWN + Home + Power, then Volume UP for proceeding) will work too.
I suggest to flash stock ROM (as you want to connect to KIES) to your phone.
If you have not done it so far, please have a look at Intratech's Official Firmware thread => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
In the first post, he described the procedure very detailed and understandable IMO.
You can download latest official ROM from the second post or a Frankenstein ROM (is nearly the same as the official / stock ROM, but prepared for combining with any Modem and/or CSC files) from the third post.
I prefer Frankenstein ROMs.
Nearly every ROM in Intratech's thread is non-wipe.
Download and install Odin.
Put the downloaded ROM (extract it with 7zip will result in a tar or md5 file) into PDA section of Odin connect your phone started in download mode to the PC.
Wait for all phone drivers to become active (make sure that KIES is no longer running), and a yellow box will be shown in Odin.
Then just Start flashing the new ROM to your phone.
Once you have done it this way, you won't use KIES any more.
Good luck !
I did exactly as you said and Is working perfectly. I like it some much, so I decided to rooted and flashed with CyanogenMod, also went smothly, without any problmes.
Thanks again!
settings stopped working
I also have had the same problem after the latest update. I discovered yesterday , that if I disabled the blue tooth function, the settings stated working. I have repeatedly tried this, and it so far works everytime. When I turn the bluetooth back on, I again get the error message.
Hi guys, i really need help to fix a friend's phone.
He has a Samsung Galaxy Exhibit t599n, with the stock rom, without a custom recovery but rooted.
The problem is that he got a malware (com.nb.superuser) and for getting rid of it we did a hard reset on the phone, but, after rebooting it it starts the Setup Wizard, but after choosing the time and date and tapping into next it says "Samsung Setup Wizard has stopped" and it throws the phone back to the language selection.
We have tried not changing any setting, reseting the phone, making another factory reset.
So far i have searched for bypassing the wizard with no results, i have also searched for how to install a recovery using adb (for installing a custom rom latter), but the other problem is that when i plug the phone into the pc it beeps but the pc doesnt detect it (yes, i have installed the drivers), kies doesn't, and odin doesn't either.
So, any suggestion? some way of bypassing the wizard?, or maybe installing a recovery, or maybe something else?.

Woke up to my S6 Edge Bootlooping today. I tried flashing 2 different stock firmwares with no luck. The phone eventually starts up but has serious lag and I'm unable to use Wifi. Seems like the firmware restore isn't working. When I boot into recover I see the words "dm-verify verification failed. Need to check DRK first..."
PLEASE Help! I need my phone working for tomorrow.
I tried to change my S6edge from BTU firmware to UK EE firmware.
This failed and wouldn't pass the pulsing Samsung logo.
I tried to put the same BTU back on and now I get
com.sec/epdg has stopped
IMS Service has stopped
com.android.phone has stopped
These errors keep flashing up preventing access to any other phone feature i.e. to get into settings.
The phone is now not seen by my PC (Odin still see's it) so I can't move any data.
I have also tried loading it with an older version of BTU but that wont start either.
Any help?

How long did you leave it on the pulsing Samsung logo? The first time after flashing can take up To 30 minutes to boot up. Also to flash the EE firmware you will need to flash a pit file as the partitions are different.
Any reason you wanted EE rather than BTU?
Also to stop the errors you need to boot to recovery and wipe cache partition. The errors will stop.
Also if you flashed a firmware your data will be gone as it would be set up as new phone.
