Weird screen at beggining problem with S3 GT-i9300 - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys! I have a problem: when i try to start (press the on button), it only shows the attached image and keeps there
Any suggestions about what is this problem about, please?
I also attached the backside oficina the phone, if it is useful to know what model is it.
Thanks !

How does the screen look in download mode or recovery? If it looks the same, it looks like a hardware problem.
Was the phone dropped or exposed to moisture?

May be, but how can i check it? Is there any tutorial about it?

You have to remove the back frame from the phone to check.

Ok. I Will try! Then i tell here how it was.

Dead gpu. There is no fix for it. The device is unfortunately dead.
It looks like it is a Spanish variant by the language on the sticker. Spanish could be Spain or South America.

Reflashed and Now Line On Screen

After I reflashed my Samsung Galax S2 I now have a line running down the middle of the screen. This only appeared after I flashed it. I tried reflashing it a few times but the line doesn't go away. Need help.
Incredibile... Are you sure isn't hardware related question????
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Already told you it's very likely a hardware problem and you should return the phone to be replaced. Just tell them the line appeared randomly and not won't go away.

that looks exactly like a complete column of dead pixels. are you sure this only happened after flashing firmware? how about going back to the original firmware that didnt have the issue and see if it disappears?
i'd exchange the unit.

Is My SII a Prototype or a Fake Phone?

Hi guys I was having issues connecting my new SII to my att network. I checked the imei using the *#06# and it came back with the generic samsung imei of 00499010640000. When I went to check behind the battery cover it also showed the same imei printed there.
This seems shady as I know that imei is the generic samsung imei when the efs folder gets corrupted. It is worrysome to see the same imei on the back of the phone as I think this means this phone is fake or a prototype.
I bought the phone on ebay from a chinese seller and I've already been refunded my money and told to keep the device by ebay since it doesn't work and they also believe it is fake.
What are your thoughts? The phone never connects to 3g but it will connect over gprs and load pages. However it won't make calls. Very strange. By the way I've flashed stock gb ics and jb and they all work with exception of the modem.
Thanks
Can ypu post more info on this device?

Interesting... This is a second time someone is posting a photo of this design (battery terminals on the left side, SD card is by the SIM, antenna connector is in a different place) that doesn't look like the "standard" i9100. And both times there are questions about the IMEI...
This is the other topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2151566
If it's a knock off it's a good knock off.
Tha IMEI sure looks bogus.

It sure looks like it, but the IMEI in this case is most definitely not the valid production one...

Is there any way I can restore the original good imei of this phone in order to make the phone work? Or is this just a knock off phone that will never function?
Thanks

Here's a back pic the front looks like an original s2 as well. Flash was too shiny for the front pic to come out clear.
I don't think it's a knock off, looks legit.

It doesn't have to be a knock-off... But it could be some sort of a prototype or a development model. There is no way in hell this phone is from a regular production run - not with the IMEI sticker like this. And the hardware design differences are quite significant from a standard i9100. True, all manufacturers always leave their options open to change the specs or design without notice, but how many people have actually seen this variant IRL or even on the photos? "Fake" or not, this is definitely an oddball...
Could this be the chinese variant of the gt i 9100?

So what do I do now with a GSII that can't connect to a GSM network? Do I just have an mp3 player now? lol
Is it possible to fix this phone?
You could but you won't, it's not strictly legal.
You've been refunded so keep that device and do whatever you want with it, who knows, maybe you'll need some parts one day.
Now focus on getting an I9100, the real thing
You could also contact samsung and see what they have to say about a what-is-seems-to-be legit I9100 with a generic IMEI (Branded under the battery).

Open the MicroSD card cover, you'll notice to the left where you insert the card there's a small black tab, pull that out.
I made a thread about it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2744197

Tomorrow I will get my device, but the seller has already taken picture and is 14w17! Is that good?
The Taiwanese model is exactly the same as the European?

Yes they are same. As for whether the date matters, who knows. See the above thread linked, but mines 14w12 and I don't have aesthetic issues. I do, however, have heating issues with the camera like everyone else.

Which Display manufacturer? Samsung or Huaxing

Hi guys,
I've broken my Display from my Mi 10 5g.
There a 2 different types of displays. One produced by Samsung (Version S) and one by Huaxing (Type C)
I've tried to find out with App Device Info HW, at Point LCM is: j2_p2_1_38_0c_0a_dsc_cmd.
With bugreport at line msm_drm.dsi_display0=qcom
Under version information is nothing noted for display.
Maybe somebody could help me here, because I can still use my phone and want to buy a new display and then disassembly.
Cheers, Andy
This is Samsung screen if I'm not mistaken.

Thank you, you was right.
I took one from Aliexpress where another board was included, so that I could use both versions.
Worked quite good for me

How did you find out which version it was?
Also, could you share the AliExpress link please?

I have the same problem.
Yes, use App Device Info and look at the item LCM.
My number was j2_p2_1_38_0c_0a_dsc_cmd and it's the Samsung panel.
If you have the other one there should by another number here, but I'm not sure (XX)
j2_p2_1_XX_0c_0a_dsc_cmd I think it's 42 or so.
But when you buy this one:
Aliexpress
you won't have this problem.
Hope I could help you.

Yes my phone is rooted.
I've got it from log too, so you can generate a log file with the service and feedback application and read it out from there.
I would read the file from a PC because it's very big.
Can you give me some instructions how?
Which log do I generate and how do I download it?

I'm sorry, I was away a few days.
I've made a mistake, I tokk the informations from the log generated by twrp recovery.
There's another possibility, you can make a picture with another phone (or use a looking glass) to see if the pixels are diamond shaped, if they are it's samsung.
If you want to take the "secure" way, just buy the c-version with the conversion board. If you had huaxing, the display will work immediatly, if not just apply the board plus it's the cheaper one ;-)
mine (( j2_mp_42_02_0b_dsc_cmd )) is huaxing or samsung? from post before, i can see that mine is not 38, but 42, which means its huaxing?
