Roboto Condensed Bold? Been looking for months, searching for hours and im tired of this (unless there is someone who knows and willing to share) and I dont wanna root my phone, may as well just buy it once and for all also able to use it in my future phones. But I cant seem to find them in the Galaxy store.

Hello, I just got my samsung vibrant, and I want to customize it a little bit. I wouldnt mind changing the theme of it. I've got an ipod touch that i jail broke and got this cool blue carbon theme that I really like. I dont wanna pay $10 or$20 for a theme pack, but just looking at my options. How Do I do this? Do I have to root this phone? im not very experienced in hacking other than what ive done with my ipod. I also want to be able to play videos on my vibrant. Someone told me I can use something called double twist, but once again im inexperienced with all of this.

There is an app called metamorph that will allow you to easily change themes. I have not used it however so read up on it before your jump right in.
Also, movies should play using nothing more than the default media player.
The market will likely have many solutions for you on both questions...

They're very active and there are many helpful people over there for questions such as yours. No need to root until you're ready. Actually, you might even want to have an actual good reason to do so before doing so. SEARCH FIRST before posting questions there and you'll be fine.
Getting involved with MetaMorph right off the back is not recommended. Changing themes, (depending on what you want to do) is possible without rooting your phone.
Sharp has made a pretty nice Keitai-style Android phone: sh7218u , but has crippled the OS only to run chinese apps. (They call it DimSim)
What would be the best way on approaching a potential "uncrippling" of this software.. and installing a full blown Andorid on it ?
All suggestions welcome, (I don't wanna hear any "buy a HTC instead" replys) 'cause they don't make clamshell androids)

Anybody has more info on functioning of the SH7218U outside China, namely in EU? Been thinking about this phone as my second (private phone), I'll be able to order one from China in August... Is it worth the hassle and the risk?

Now, I don't really know how to read Chinese well so Ive gotten all this info from lurking Chinese forums searching for keywords or just finding these because of others. So, if anyone can help me out with translating this link I'm about to give, ALOT of helpful things will result since it's basically a thread on SH7218U optimization.

Also, if you check out this vid, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmTf300BhpI ,this guys SH7218U is modded so the notification and virtual android buttons have a different look to them. I asked the guy and this is what he said, "It is similar to how to modify the status bar is other android phone (which you can search from google or XDA forum), but the tricky part is instead of modify the frame-res.apk. you do the modification on dianxinos-res.apk". Now that seems simple enough but I can't find any guide on HOW to do this, and him not replying any further didn't help me out.. SO yeh, if anyone can read/write Chinese lets look up on how to mess with the SH7218Us framework.apk and dianxinos-res.apk, as for now Ide rather not mess with those important files without a clear English guide.
So let's try and get something going here possibly maybe perhaps?
Hello everyone, in trying to find a thread I saw about 2 weeks ago about changing your build.prop to have gameloft games be playable that normaly aren't on the E3D. I don't remember exactly where I had seen it but I've looked for it. Maybe someone remembers the thread and can post me a link for it. Thank u in advance. I know there is one in the games section of Android but its for arm6.

Thanks ekz13 but that's not the one I'm looking for. The one I remember had changes to the script that where way longer. I remember something about changing the device to LG Optimus.
I thought that was the one to change it to the optimus one. I don't remember seeing another though.. gl finding it, post up a link when you do please

Yea I hope someone else remembers it. I think it was in the EVO3D forums but I looked in there and even went back as 10 pages of posts and still nothing...maybe I'm just missing it. I'll keep looking but I also hope someone finds it too or stumbles upon it, cuz I really wanna play Sacred Odyssey If anyone has gotten it to work on the E3D, how did u do it? Thank you peeps

From a android market developer's point of view there are really only two ways the market allows the developer to explicitly filter out devices for their application:
1) by specific build model of the device
2) by screen resolution support
the /system/build.prop supplys the information the Market uses. if you have a konwn good device that supports these games, such as the LG Optimus, you would only need a copy of the LG Optimus build.prop file in order to mimic.
if it was me personally, i would suggest changing the fingerprint to make the lg optimus first, wipe market cache, reboot and see if it appears in the market. if it doesn't, then i'd look into screen settings, but i think most filter by device as that is the easier of the two to manually control/adjust in the developer market console.
as a side plug, my app, build prop editor, makes it very simple to edit the file from android mode, along with maintaining backups/restoring and switching between them!

Hi. I'm a new Galaxy S user. But I have a banged up EVO that I loved and hated. But that's veering off topic.
What I need help with is finding a root solution for mine, and my wife's phones. I've been searching Google for leads ever since I got this thing. But haven't found out whether the old guides (sometimes for a different model ) will work for me.
Anyone able to uncover anything useful?
I have recently purchased my daughter this phone to use for Pokemon Go...since she is only 9 she cannot go walking around too far to play this game..SOOO i am in need of 2 things if at all possible.
1. A rooted stock ROM for this Phone(SuperSU rooted works the best and easiest)
2. A Stock ROM for the phone(Just an exact replica of the ROM that is pre-installed when you first buy the phone, or can remove all the garbage excess stuff if would like? )
I do not have loads of cash but if someone can help me i wouldn't mind donating to them to get this done? Just let me know if someone has these files already(i already have Odin to do the flashing and i know how to do it already, just need these 2 files ) OR if someone would do this for me(for my daughter actually haha) like i said, i would gladly donate to them if they prefer. just whatever it takes

I am afraid to say this is not possible so far I know. A Friend as ask me to unlock his phone, but no success. I think I gonna suggest to sell it in eBay and get another phone which is possible to unlock (and not from Verizon).
