I have noticed a great improvement in my area for phone call strength - I live in a terrible AT&T reception area, I am keeping calls and not dropping them near as much as when I was using the Note 4.

I see no difference in reception with the N8 when compared to my S7E, and even my LG V-10. AT&T needs to do a little work in my area (Around my house mostly )

On my LG-G2 there were many times when I would not receive calls/text messages immediately without a delay. Other times I had no signal period, especially for GPS. This phone's GPS tracks on instantly and I am able to use data with LTE in places I could not before. It's Although I'm JUST outside of the Sprint LTE areas (B.S. considering I'm just a few streets/blocks away from an area with it on their coverage map) and I am now downloading as high as 25MB/s instead of the maximum 2MB/s I was getting before this phone. Phone cellular beats my crappy TWC, now Specturm, internet at times and I pay for the max 300MBps package. Ain't that a *****
Slightly better than my last daily driver, a note 4.

Here in NYC, signal is good and strong generally. There are particular areas that I personally refer to as "LTE dead zones". No matter what Sprint phone I've had, these particular areas will show LTE but nothing happens, period, until i'm out of the area.
I ride the subway a lot, so in the stations you get service and not in the tunnels, so the pace that the radios connect back to the towers is very crucial (especially when you're dealing with streaming services like Spotify, etc)..
I find the Bolt second to the 6S Plus in holding onto a signal, very close second. The only other phone I've been impressed with regarding signal strength is when I had the original 4.7" Moto X (loved that phone).

I've gotten an 18MBit connection on Tracfone BYOP. This was out at a lake where there's some pretty good tower reception and not a lot of people. However, the phone does falter a bit indoors, particularly big warehouse-type stores like Walmart. LTE cuts out and it goes all the way down to HSPA.

Seems to be on par with the note 8. Could be my imagination but according to LTE Discovery phone shows slight less db signal.

How does the Samsung "Shannon" LTE modem stack up to the Qualcomm X20 LTE modem?
1st is my note9 on a dead network. 2nd is same and the fastest I ever had on my V20 but average was about 120ish Mb/s.
Winner note9. About a nickel better dBm on average but up to 10dBm better than V20. Better dBm than my than my note4. Note4 was my first phone to pull down 100+Mb/s, almost as good my V20 speeds.
When compared to a one plus 6. The note 9 gets a weaker signal. LTE speed are also lower. On the note 9.
THis is for the Exonos version.
