Hello i bought a Flytouch 5, I'm wondering what people know about this tablet.
And also i like to learn here if it's possible to change the Android version to one that are around here.
I'm not really happy with the pre installation that came from the manufacturer. It works but i know it can be better.
I would be really happy with any info what is out there about this tablet.
Info from tablet.

May I ask you if you are still on the original firmware to send me the file wpa_supplicant.config? Or if you have the original ROM it will the best way if you can send me the link to download it. Thanks.

Thank you for your answer! Is your device rooted? Because only if it's rooted you can go to the folder where the file is. Or maybe you have the ROM? That will be the best way if you have the ROM to send it to me. Or to ask your reseller to send it to you? By the way where did you buy it from? That might help me to obtain the original firmware.
Thanks

How is the folder named? Let me look in to that first, i don't think the site allows direct company names that sell this product.
I'm surprised about the low info here on this tablet.
Maybe new info i found will help, it's also known as superpad.
And I'm sure it's no fake. Google it. I will not advertise here.
Still need some good info and answers.

I bought one of these chunks of crap, it ran for 24 hrs now it won't boot it had newer yospad firmware but I can't remember the exact build cause it won't boot now. What I need to know is how to do a hardware reset, not the little reset button it just restarts it or another yospad rom.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Who the hell gives names to this devices .. ? Flytouch 5 ? zomg!
this is the ONLY company that has the Infotmic SoC available for implementing into tablets:
http://www.shuoying.com/global/index.asp
http://www.shuoying.com/global/Product.asp?/3.html (tablet page)
I Know that, cause I personally visited the head of Infotmic SoC design (Shenzhen) and ShuoYing CEO, also in Shenzhen (Infotmic HQ is from Shanghai)
If there is any other tablet with "Flytouch" design, then they are tempered from the original tablet made by Shuoying, or they are so wild that it is really a mystery of it's origin.
My guess is that those are regular FT2 (since all have the same CPU) tweaked by some wild chinese people, Kernel and OS, and RAM/ROM
not to all - dont buy tablets from companies that dont show up in 1-2 hours search. You'll end up with tablet that someone assembled by hand and a screwdriver, and most probably extremely bad OS.
flashing rom on yospad
Use only Z4 to root the yospad. Can someone leave link for fw flash for yospad

I think your completely right there.
I use it for a remote control know.
Thanks for the input btw.
Digital Zoro - im sorry for your failed tablet device.
On the other hand - I find the FT2 design to be the best tablet design ever. it obviously lacks the fine finish, and better materials, but - 10 inch wide tablet, with every god damn port there is - pure win.
I saw the "actual" FT3 in Infotmic Shenzhen, and it looks awesome - capacitive screen, ARM Cortex A8 based infotmic SoC (about time dudes, you are sooo late) .. dont know why isnt out yet, cause all those named "FT3" dont have same specs as the one I saw.

My Flytouch 5
The design is not really bad and i like that it has the rj-45 port.
The screen I find bad. No multitouch and slow reaction when touched.
Its thick and heavy to hold.
Flytouch 5 should have GPS build in, but it doesn't.
The Flytouch 2 3 4 5 are all the same design. On one moment it lost the second mini sd slot.
Is this only with the fake ones?
No, they are all faulty. the forementioned Shuoying company makes crapy tablets
I took for bussines 30 units the first time around, and I still have 6 broken units. others had flaws, mostly of how they are assembled - everything is sticking out, and such. USB/SD slots die more often than you could imagine.
buttons are the biggest problem - they are not glued in & soldered - they are JUST soldered. so the only thing that holds them into place is Tin (Sn) and we all know how that is firm and solid
oh, there is also a screen problem - there are 3 types of ZIF wire-to-board connector types for the screen, so if you ever need a screen replacement - dont even think about it.
the best assembled chinese tablet is from a company Utopia, in my expirience. you can find them by the name "imx515" A8 or A10 tablet. it turns out that solutions for assemble is better than most of the branded companies.
I have a MID purchased from Tradestead.com , Their stock# is a tradestead.com/wholesale-7-capacitive-android-2-3-wifi-4gb-tablet-pc-mid-a10-1-2ghz-consumption_p15297.html PPC-180-2MX
It looks identical to a Bmorn V11, Aldi Minitab, Skytex Alpha 2, goclever a73, LY-F1, etc.
(I have tried all of these FW, but none are working for the digitizer, some are better in allowing some response, others no response at all.
LY-F1 has the ft5x_ts module and was the closest of them all to getting the MID's Digitizer to work right; LY-F1 was perfect in all ways except the gravity sensor was 180 degrees off (hold it and up was down) and left was right on the touch screen.
So, does anyone know how to tweak the module so that I can correct the screen orientation? I am CLOSE...
Here are the specs on the original FW:
Model: Crane-evb-v13
Android Version: 2.3.4
Kernel: 2.6.36-android [email protected] #4
Build Number: crane_evb_v13-eng 2.3.4 GRJ22 eng.mhc.20111202.113113 test-keys
Same basic specs as mentioned above models and same casing;
A10 1Ghz + Mali400, 512MB DDR3, 4GB NAND, 7" TFT LCD 800x480 5 Point Capacitive, WIFI b/g/n
I really need to have assistance in locating the FW because the seller WILL NOT help and WILL NOT disclose what supplier and or manufacture this MID is from (I have called Hong Kong and China offices, spoke to them and they are nice but refuse and make up excuses as to why they cannot get original FW and upload to their site)
I do have an identical MID (I ordered two) and don't know anything about how or where or if possible to get the driver, etc. So, I have a working MID and the Mystery MID..
As far as I can see is having the need to calibrate the MID; I have searched on how to calibrate via adb shell but I have not found anything really that is helping.
Any help appreciated.

Here is a link to a quadcore SOM board
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...L-KLD-RM-GS-JY-YZ-BN/1657211_32608448711.html
I bought my head unit from this seller. Had good communication with him, reliable seller.
I have RK3188 SoM 16GB in stock
IN USA I can ship you one for 85$ plus shipping
Hi ! thanks for your inputs
Did you notice a real difference between the dual core and the quadcore?
Thanks !
Is this compatible with KYD model?
I have the KD-c1908 from Pumpkin audio and they have been upgrading this unit.
the RK 3188.
They quoted me 70$ us shipped to me in canada from china for the board and 100 for the front higher resolution panel (complete minus som)
Now the question is do I do the display upgrade as well
I have noticed twice the speed when using google earth and I can simultaneously install several apps much faster than with the 3066. Not much of a benchmark I know but I would say it was worth the investment in the quad SOM.

The lcd is hidden under that, I haven't disassembled it any further than that yet.
There are 3 connections coming from the lcd/digitizer. In that picture there is: 1 two wire white plug for the backlight on the left. One small ribbon on the top for the digitizer and one long one on the top right for the lcd itself.
Do you have a picture of yours that would be similar ?

Hi,
I'm looking for a place to buy the RK3188 SoM to upgrade my JY RK3066 headunit.
I saw the link to aliexpress on the first post but they are asking $120 (!) for something that I see others got for $70 shipped.
Any place to order it for a decent price?
thanks
Update 27/07 - did not improve the radio enough to recommend this modification/change.
Apparently the TEF6686 module has better performance than the TDA7786 - e.g. 7786 poor sensitivity, selectivity, multipath issues etc. My JY TDA7768 is terrible, even with an RF amp, so to find out if the TEF is any better, thought I would try and investigated swapping tuner modules. Reviewing the GS board I have as a spare part against my JY, I identified the modules are pin-for-pin compatible.
Sucessfully swapped the Radio module from a donor GS board containing a TEF6686 Module into my JY board originally containing a TDA7786. The GS board was quite difficult to unsolder the module, perhaps due to leadfree solder, fortunately the JY board was easy, the desolder wick readily desoldering the module.
As for results, I have bench tested and RDS, tuning, audio etc is OK, I am yet to test in the vehicle. Will update this thread with results.
See attached images. Note that the JY case had additional mounts that over time might short out against the non-ground PCB tracks, resulting in complete failure of the unit!
Welcoming any questions.
Did the reception really improved?? And RDS AF fuction is working well with malaysyk V3 firmware?

Hi,
The tef6686 appears marginally better, is more sensitive and appears to handle multipath better. Im not sure if I would call it out as a worthy upgrade just yet - need more time.
wonder if it can be bought on its own.. seems like just the chip itself which is surfaced mounted on the riser card as pictured above.. so this would prove difficult to install

Ive seen a suitable module available on aliexpress that would need some modification to swap a couple of pins. That is the TEF6686-TDQ-230V-186 (10 pin) - a whole $6 bucks US.

Next week this module come to me , so in the next weekend I have time to swap.

That's great, don't forget these are not pin-pin identical and will have to figure out swapping pins. Search for the manufacturer PDF and check against the mtcd schematic. I'll upload the module PDF later today.

could be something else in the implementation, not just the chip itself.
i have 2 boxes, one with 7786, the other with 6686 and the difference in reception is worlds apart. I mean even with the powered antenna not connected to 12V, i had no hiss on any station received.
7786 with powered antenna is just fine, don't get me wrong, but 6686 is better.

I had thought about that but there's no difference in implementation I can see after comparing from schematic. Perhaps I had a 'good' 7786.
- MCU is latest HA
- Both modules are digitally controlled by MCU/i2c bus.
- same supply
- latest HA android 6.
There's really not much to it, 5volts, antenna connection, i2c comms and audio out. I get multipath noise/crackles from stations between 99 and 102mhz. Same between both tda and TEF.
Can you clarify what you mean by 'better'.
Hi!
Maybe there are some differences in the Radio Software used in the different HU. The Chip is controlled by I2C and it seems to be possible to activate or change some behavior of FM Reception through some commands.
Is it maybe possible to extract the radio Software from the good HU so we can try it out on different devices (with TEF 6686).
It would be really nice if it would be possible to control some of the possible configuration of the chip manually...

No differences in android and same MCU, MCU controls radio module via I2c. The "upgrade " has no discernable difference.
Any more details? I need a more sensitive tuner. I have a full power mast but my car is all SMC so the radio needs all the help it can get.

Sure - there are two different tuner modules and neither of them are 'better'. I suspect its hit and miss in the production of either modules.
If you have a proper external antenna, which is properly connected, there's nothing you can do apart from using internet streams or DAB if available for best quality.
thanks, do you know if these unit have the 7786 or the 7786M IC?

Are you sure ? Cos on MTCB/C units the AF doesnt work and the PTY is plain wrong (I have an MTCD unit now but I havent tested the radio yet, its still on the bench), but someone (deffo Italian I remember that) made some changes and got PTY to work correctly and I thought he did it by modding the app ratehr than anything on the MCU side. Sadly I cant remember exactly what thread it was in, or who it was.

Unfortunately the only way to tell on MTCD untis is to open it up, unlike the MTCB/C units where you can select the tuner type in facory settings, which is strange cos MTCD MCUs are much more powerful 32 but compared to MTCB/C's 8bit . . .
. . . or maybe there is a way ? - @marchnz's dmesg output mentions "6686" in the first post.
Hi,
Can someone help with radio module pins schematic for XD-6686AF-0. This is same radio module that @marchnz has swaped. I am forced to change main that is not pin to pin identical to TEF6686-TDQ-230V-86-TDQ-230V-86-R that I have from aliexpress.
Thank you

Thank you

Do you have a datasheet? Shouldnt be too hard to match up against schematic.

I can make a new photo if someone needs clear image of this module.

If I buy that device "md-rt1009" px5 4/32 can I transfer px5 board to my px3 device?

I've seen videos about that topic but some says it can be different boards. MCUs are different but I know MCU is on mainboard.

non-MTC* MCU units like that don't use the same style SOM, so you can't remove it and swap into a MTC* unit.
