What's new??
It might be the September security updates. I just received my US firmware based one on the older firmware and it has the August security patch level. Based on what I see in XperiCheck, the US firmware isn't listed yet for the G8342.

BlueBorn fixed and patch , some camera pictures colors correction and improve with less noise and some buggs fixed
Checked build.prop, security patch is still on August for 47.1.A.2.324

Nope. Exactly same.
Anyone else use Google Keep? Since the update, oddly, cannot open notes in full screen......this silly little shrunken overview thing pops up that is unreadable...

Have you heard that there is a RS98811c update? RS98811b brought the Android security patch level up to June 1 2016, but I've read somewhere that there is an August version of the security patch as well. Perhaps if there is a version 11c update it will include that latest security patch.

I just checked for it and it was waiting for me to download.
Here's some information about it:
For those who care about such things, the RS98811c update DOES increment the rollback counter. Security patch is taken to 2016-07-01.

The RS988 is the unlocked US variant, and I am using it on AT&T's network, so I can't say for sure. I found it by checking for updates under the "About Phone", then "Update Center", then "Software Update" menus, and there it was. I tried using LG Bridge, but software update wouldn't work for me.
I just had this update pushed to my phone yesterday afternoon and just installed the update, I'll report back my findings later this week.
Trying my best to ignore it for now and wait for more people to confirm if you can rollback after this update. Don't want to ruin any chance I have at getting root in the future.

I also received this OTA (Security patch level @ June 2017) last night (I'm south korean). I've removed lockscreen ads via adb as @dosangst already had been described. After OTA update finished, annoying lockscreen ads app (com.amazon.phoenix) was reinstalled, and it looks like previous method doesn't work any more... T.T
This update reinstalls the ads and invalidates all previous methods to remove them. I would advise declining it if you can.
Does anyone have a backup of this image. I accidentally flashed the ret version and bricked my phone

Actually Verizon looks to be the first to be trying to push the update
Verizon pulled the change log, it was just the April update. I wonder why they would bother to push the April update if the Oreo update was close, that tells me Verizon is going to screw the S7's on Red.

I'm thinking their still deciding on updating the bootloader for carrier specific ,like what sprint is doing, as the betas are still on 4 while sprint is on 5 for android n ,so customers can't unlock with out having to go through the company

I dont have a link but have been running for a few days. after disabling 'Device Health' is has been running great. Good battery life, far better than I was getting on BRA1.
AT&T just pushed the March security update, I am still wondering why bother with it if Oreo is close..

Posts on Reddit say the one being released in Europe is ERD5. I would hope the US market would be the same. I'm holding off flashing CRD6.

Got this update (January security patches) after manual update with Newflasher from 47.2.A.0.306 (which I forced via PC Companion beta software repair and couldn't get any OTA) to version 47.2.A.4.45
So if you come back to any "official" build you will be able to get official updates again

You should flash to the original android 8.0 then update to the normal android pie. So you will be updated via OTA as usual. Note: You must flash the FW to the original of the machine.

I used Lenovo rescue to update my G Power to the QPMS30.80-109-2 version (from QPMS30.80-51-5) and I was wondering what is different. I think it is strange that this update was not OTA. It is also still on the July security patch.
The update was released on August 31st 2020 according to a mirror

No, no crashes. I updated using the Lenovo rescue, removed the erase user data line from the XML file.
I never got the Ota update.
Retus G Power here. The OTA update is QPMS30.80-51-8 with the September 1, 2020 security patch. The LMSA downloads the QPMS30.80-109-2 version for some reason.

Maybe due to LMSA only downloads full firmware and its not available yet.
