Hi, guys!
To all who runs AT&T M9 Firmware Locked to AT&T.
A lot of people can't run Nougat, bacause AT&T didn't want to share update signature key outside AT&T network. If you are not in US, you can't get Nougat update.
Does anyone have activated AT&T sim? Just flash your M9 by latest MM firmware. But before Make backup of your data, phone became clean!!!
What to do:
1. Flash file: 0PJAIMG_HIMA_UL_M60_SENSE70_ATT_MR_Cingular_US_3.38.502.41.zip
2. Use method 2 to grab OTA download link as shown here https://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...75&postcount=2
3. Post here result to share with others
Thanks for help!

Can you give me a quick tutorial? my phone is:
s-on
Unlocked
firmware: 2.11.502.21
If you have AT&T card, just use OTA update. I don't know all things how to update from Lollipop. Plase read Readme thread.
Anyone found the OTA url yet? I restored to stock, but it says no update available. RUU isn't an option since you can't go from 3.x to 4.x.

Hi
I missed the HTC One At&t OTA updates ( 4.3 and then the 4.4 Sense 6 ) for my phone. I know i can side load them.
I have been searching for Stock ROMs given during OTA.
Can i directly update to the 4.4 update package and skip the 4.3 update ? Is it safe ?
Also can anybody direct me to the links for the 4.3 package and the 4.4 package and the steps. I have a thread which has the 4.4 package, just was searching for steps and the 4.3 package.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2659374
Also, as a curiosity , i read people requesting At&t to 'push' a specific version to a subscriber , by asking a code to be dialed on the phone. How does this system work ? Do they push on the basics of IMEI ?
One more experimental thing, if i change the date of my phone back when 4.3 was released , is it possible that i shall get a OTA update from At&t server when i check for it ?? has anybody tried this ?

If you are not in the US or on AT&T then the push request would not work for you either as it come from AT&T.
No way to get At&t update if outside US and not on At&t. ROM flashing is the way.
if you are not in US and not on At&t network currently . I checked there are no proper OTA files for the AT&T to update via OTA method if you are stuck on 4.1 ( 1.25. xxxx) . Via OTA files user data is preserved. No need to re-setup your device.
So you can't just go without flashing the phone and re-setup of old apps and stuff is required.
Now that you have to flash the phone its so much better to leave At&T builds. They have the highest amount of junk ( bloatware) in their builds. At&t phone book app i hate you.
So, do one step more and convert your phone to a generic version. US developer version is the best. Updates are faster and directly from HTC. And Rom has no issues.
That one step more is changing your CID and MEID in fastboot menu. ( it requires a S-off , and S-off might require a root. Root might require a TWRP recovery and SU binary steps ) .
If you on 1.44 Hboot the story is easy , just s-off via revone and unlock bootloader( i guess not needed !) and then flash a JB (4.3) binary first and then update to KK. Don't jump to KK directly with RUU.exe method . It fails with image error 158. I spent 5 hours figuring why this error !!!
Also can be converted to any other edition by changing the respective CID and MEID. Later make sure the CID is correct to receive the future OTA updates.
PS : T-Mobile is so much better in terms of pushing OTA. I had a m7 t-mobile SIM unlocked outside US. Never had a issue for any OTA. All were pushed on time.
Very unprofessional of At&t, that they want only their 'active' At&t members only to get the updates.
IF they see that the update binary is already same for all and is ready, its just server bandwidth they need, to extend OTA to non-At&t subscribers using an At&t phone.
Sorry if these are dumb questions... I have searched unsuccessfully for answers here and I am new to the forums and to Android... not sure where to ask this...
I just bought a new (unsold stock) T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900T) phone and activated it on the T-Mobile network. The phone came with G900TUVU1ANE6 (4.4.2) from the factory. After only a few hours of operation T-Mobile has pushed an unnamed update to the phone which I assume is G900TUVU1GPE1 (6.0.1) Marshmallow. I have postponed installation of the update but don't know how long I can postpone it or if I can prevent its installation.
Will installing Marshmallow cause my S5's bootloader to become locked? I ask because I found this on Wikipedia (link not allowed) "As of Marshmallow, the Android Compatibility Definition Document contains new security mandates for devices, dictating that those that are capable of accessing encrypted data without affecting performance must enable Secure boot and device encryption by default".
Or is my G900T's bootloader already locked? I ask because I found this at root my galaxy dot net (link not allowed) "If your device’s bootloader is locked then you will get the update via OTA. [...] If your device is rooted or bootloader is unlocked then you have to manually Flash / Install Official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Firmware On T-Mobile Galaxy S5 using Odin Flash tool".
The second question worries me more. I bought a T-Mobile S5 because so many sources claim the G900T bootloaders are unlocked. Now I'm unsure. Is there an easy way to determine if my bootloader is locked or unlocked? (I have Heimdall available on a Linux laptop but no windows machine).
I hope to install CM10 or CM13 on my S5. Thanks in advance for any definite information or guidance anyone can provide.
I'm thinking about buying an S5 and am wondering this as well.

After installing the latest firmware, you can still flash custom ROMs, you can still root, etc.
Just look in the Android Development sub-forum, and you will see several custom ROMs for MM on the SM-900T.
You can also flash ROMs from the International S5 forum. I've never flash a CM ROM, but there are several on this forum that have and do.

G900T T-Mobile's bootloader is not locked. I've downgraded from MM to KK without problems. I flashed RR MM without problems
No brother . I mean if I need to root s5 T-Mobile than shall I downgrade it first or I can easily do it on marshmallow.
Can u tell me any authentic root process!
Thanks
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...l/root-how-to-root-sm-g900t-firmware-t3358190
It's exactly the same process on MM as it is on LP or KK.
I rooted my G900T about two weeks ago. It had MM the latest patches and everything, so you don't need to worry about the bootloader ever being locked.
marshmallow to Lollipop?

Hi! is your smartphone really a G900T?
IF it is so... It is pretty sure you download a firmware and it is incomplete.
Where do you download from?
Which version is it?

It's been forever since I've been here, missed this place. I am practically a noob now.
Here is my scenario:
I have a Verizon-branded S9+ / SM-G965U on the firmware/baseband G965USQ3BRK2. It is paid off, assured it is carrier unlocked and has also never been modified, pure stock. I'm looking to switch carriers from Verizon to another service. It's also my understanding that Verizon phones are a pain in the hiney and there may be issues with data, features, and other nags and warnings because a non-Verizon SIM is in use. Had an S5 that worked on other carriers but was a nightmare to configure.
Will I be condemned to a similar nightmare of nags and warnings, or will it rebrand it's self and allow me to receive OTA updates on the new carrier? Just not sure of what my options are, the search results yields conflicting information where some had to flash some firmware and others didn't.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
I converted an unlocked Verizon S9+ to an unbranded, unlocked device, using it on T-Mobile and couldn't be happier with it. You have the option of flashing your own carrier's firmware or the factory unlocked, and it will improve your situation, no more SIM card notifications and all that.
P.S. I was in the same situation as you, used to be on here all the time but felt like a noob all over again. But a super helpful member here guided me through the process and it was completely painless, one quick flash with Odin and it was all good.

Welcome. Looks like there's some instructions here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...icial-stock-firmware-thread-samsung-t3764479. However you will want to make sure you find the patched version of Odin to get past the fact that you are flashing a different firmware than is currently on the phone. And you will want to flash G965U or U1 firmware, that also has a 3 as the fifth number from the end, just as the firmware that's already on your phone.

Thanks for your help and for answering the questions.
Is there any benefit to flash U1 or would just U work?
Would the firmware downloaded using SamFirm work with that version of ODIN you linked?
Do I have to go through a rooting process and install TWRP prior to going ODIN on my phone? Or can I just go into download mode on my device, click yeah about a custom OS, then do the ODIN bit?

The U firmwares are those from carriers and the U1 is from the factory unlocked unbranded variant. so it's up to you if you want your carriers own firmware or just a generic Samsung version. If you need Wi-Fi calling and or volte, there might be a better chance of it working with your carriers firmware but the unlocked firmware does a good job with that as well, I have both of those features working perfectly with the U1 firmware and a T-Mobile SIM. Just make sure to use the CSC as opposed to HOME_CSC, so that your phone is fully wiped and configured for your sim card. I will say one advantage of the unlocked U1 firmware is free built-in caller ID ?
No rooting necessary, in fact it's not even possible on the US models, so just boot into Odin and flash the firmware using the patched version of Odin.
Hello all.
SM-G965U, was AT&T but now unlocked for Fi. In the US.
Build: R16NW.G965USQS3BRJ6
Security Patch: Nov 1
What do I need to do to get back to the OTA schedule? I'm presuming its to flash onto an unlocked ROM but I can't work out exactly which thread I need to be following to make that happen.
That is the newest update until they release Pie. You can manually flash a beta version of Pie or sign up for the beta program.

Wait a few days, the rollout might not be instantaneous
It's unlocked but still run the same AT&T branded firmware. All AT&T phone requires an ATT sim card and in US to receive OTA. It looks like you are on Fi so you need to get an active ATT sim from a friend to receive update.
What is the alternative to flashing some sort of generic ROM instead? Specifically what ROM would I need?
you need firmware version SM-G965USQU3CSAB THATS THE PIE UPDATE . it rebrands based on sim card so you wil be branded tmobile on project fi . here the thread with the link u want https://downloadmirror.co/2CXl/G965USQU3CSAB_G965UOYN3CSAB_CCT.zip

Thanks. I think I'm actually going to go with SM-G965U1 G965U1UEU3CSA8 because I don't believe you get any carrier features with Fi, even if it piggybacks on Tmobile anyway.
Just got a new unlocked phone. Baseband Version is G965U1UES6CSG4
I'd like to flash it to the AT&T rom so that I can use WiFi calling, etc. I have AT&T sim in the phone that I pulled from my Nexus 6.
I'd also like to be able to get OTA updates if possible.
Can somebody point me at the right files ? I have Odin ready to go.
Thanks !
