Hi all,
I flashed SlimKat 4.4.2 latest build 3, ocasionaly, i get about 10GB free after full wipe and instaling stock samsung rom, but after installing SlimKat i get only 2,5GB user available out of 11GB dedicated, i have done full wipe of everything, i experienced that on Temasek's build also.
Does 4.4 use so much space?
Please help if you can.
Just wondering if CyanogenMod 12 will work on my phone? I don't even know what to do my phone, just brought it from 29 november 2014. Looked up at internet, and no good tutorials to find and need root to flash cyanogenmod 12. The model is Samsung Galaxy V (Indonesia, Telkomsel), SM-G313HZ. Any suggestions?

CM11 and CM12 work
I am currently trying to CM11 , tratandod to solve some bugs , maybe then try CM12 the problem is that my computer does not have enough features to compile CM12 , I have good processor 9.9Ghz AMD 500GB HDD , but memory is very short , I have only 2GB and 4GB normally required or higher.

if u want to compile CM12 with 2 GB RAM, u can use Elementary OS 0.3 x64. Im using it to compile cm11. and my pc also has 2 GB RAM only with 3.10 GHz.
And i've managed CM11 for galaxy v. sm-g313hz. u can find out in Galaxy V SM-G313HZ Development Thread. (Check my signature). But still has more bugs. If u want to help us, we'll so happy.

Nope, CM12 needs more than 2GB. Currently i have 4GB of RAM and a pentium G630 @2.7GHz. When building CM12 it uses swap so much (i've 6GB zRAM and it eats 5GB of it)
I'm looking for some help building CM12.1 for this device to get it in life . Even this is just a cheap phone, but we're devs, we can do it, so bring it on! Now with CM12.1, i'm currently facing with dead services (service media.audio_flinger died and more....)
A little off-topic: I've done building CM11 for this device and released the first builds. Now our (me and my friend on Github) biggest problem is that damn RIL. If someone could make it work, we will greatly appreciated

I'm not an expert, but in teory there aren't minimal system requirements for android lollipop, but I know it's suggested at least 1 GB RAM in order to work well and smooth. (it doesn't mean its not possible however)

That is the base min to run the os. As long as that is all your doing then it will be OK but don't try to use it for anything else. As for is it advised? If you don't need it then no its not. Root for those that are not sure is a major security hole.
Hello,
My friend is using an old Glaxy S2 because his other phone is broken. What stable good custom rom would you suggest? He saids that the phone has the original rom right now, but apparently he can't install almost any apps because they're not compatible with the outdated version of android..
Also, what are the requirements for installing a custom rom nowadays? I've rooted and instaled multiple custom roms on my old android phone like 4 or 5 years ago and I haven't done anything since then because I'm using an Iphone right now. I'd assume that you still have to first install a custom recovery, then root the phone and then install the rom?
Cyanogen Mod 12.1 is the one you want to use. Less laggy and fair app support. In case if you want to expand the storage with SD card, I suggest you to use LineageOS 13 or Cyanogen alternative, Nougat will chug it up like crazy, believe me.
I do not recommend custom ROMs.
