Phone will not send calls via Bluetooth - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, I have a really strange issue. Recently for no apparent reason I cannot get calls via Bluetooth. My phone does connect to my various Bluetooth devices and will even send music to them but not calls. I can temporarily rectify this by going to the Bluetooth system app and clearing the data but the issue returns daily. Any ideas would be appreciated as this is driving me nuts especially when it cuts out while connected to my car Bluetooth and I am driving.

You are on stock rom or custom rom?

Backup your data and do the hard thing,:silly:

I wiped the cache partition and it seems to have done the trick.

[Q] Problems after root

I used this to root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286432
The 3 days I had my phone before I rooted it worked perfectly, now after rooting I have had to reset my phone twice because it says it is not registered under AT&T network, sometimes I loose the ability to text so I have to reset, sometimes I loose connection all together and have to reset. Sometimes I loose data connection but can still call/text and have to reset. Also, places I would get 5 bars I now get 2-3. I also have had the touch buttons not work so I have to reset.
Kinda sounds like my problem...

I had to get a replacement, and now its working fine for me.

Did you by chance flash a new ROM after rooting?
I had the same problem after initially rooting mine, while I was trying to restore some data with TiBu. I did a factory reset on it and it's been working fine ever since (didn't lose root, either, for what it's worth).

No new Rom.

I also just got back from AT&T, they gave me a new SIM card and it seems to be working better, but still not as good as before root.

I think I read somewhere to only restore missing apps and no system data with TI Backup since there was some weirdness reported. Looks like the same case for you.

Faced a problem like that, but it hasn't happened to me for some weeks. It happened to me with cm9. Sliding to receive calls just didn't work sometimes, and the only option that worked was rejecting them. I remember that one time or two it even rebooted when I tried to answer. But now it doesn't happen to me. If you have a custom ROM, first of all make a backup and make sure it has no problem. Now, try to wipe data and cache and format system from the recovery, and then flash the newest version of the ROM again, if it doesn't require flashing on a previous specific build. But if it's not a custom ROM, I don't know what to do.
When you format system, careful not to format SDcard! Once I had wanted to format the System but I was distracted so I chose format SDcard. That was awful! I couldn't stop it!
Have a nice day!
Well i am on stock os only.

[Q] Music intermittently muting for 1 second

Not quite sure how this started. Im on Nxtgen 5.2 with galaxsih b7 (tried b5 same issue)
I play my music, and more often when the screen is on than off - it randomly mutes for ~1 second or so. Its almost as though it mutes quickly for a notification. but theres no notification!!!!
Ive tried reboot - wipe cache and dalvik, and flashed the other kernel (b5)...
Its really intermittant and seems to occur more when changing songs, or the volume etc. Really strange..
Anyone know what the problem could be?
It was FINE yesterday and ive changed NOTHING whatsoever overnight, yet today its dodgy...
Cheers

Nope, all stock settings, one day it worked, one day it didnt! :/
Not sure what to do other than reflash... that may not even work! I guess it could be the headphone jack being faulty?

Before that try to reset media storage: Settings - Apps - All Apps - Media Storage and wipe its cache. Then go to recovery wipe cache / dalvik cache and fix permissions and reboot. Wait for 10 minutes for cache and media storage to rebuild and see if that helps

I'll give it a whirl, thanks.
EDIT: Its been okay for the past couple of hours to be honest, and i havent yet done what you suggested. I think it may have been some dust in my headphone jack, haha. If it continues again though i'll try what you suggested!

[Q] Bluetooth issue

Hiya,
So I managed to get my phone rooted and flashed a new ROM or two (PACMan and CM10 and 11) and in each one the bluetooth was essentially not there. I could toggle the switch, but no bluetooth would show up, and the actual bluetooth menu is empty. I've searched a bit and couldn't really find a definative statement on the issue. Is it just me? or did i miss some note stating the issue?
I'm on CM11 and have had no issues with Bluetooth.

I haven't issues too
Interesting. So I just tried to run Tablet Talk and it said Bluetooth isn't supported by this device.
No BT issues here.
I updated to m9 today and Bluetooth would not connect then would not turn on when I tried to cycle it I wiped cache and dalvik cache rebooted and it connected fine. Might try that if it's still not working for you.

Thanks for the reply. So i did a bit of experimenting. First I went back to stock. BT actually worked. Next reloaded CM11. Again BT was OK. The I restored my backup data. Suddenly BT was not OK. So I simply went back to a clean CM11 install and loaded my data bit by bit. I never actually figured out what was causing the issue - the issue being that something was telling the phone that it did not have bluetooth capabilities - but I imagine that it was so specific and unlikely that it isn't much of a concern.
That is interesting about the davlic cache. I did not try that.

Memory Card Issues Since Root

Since root I constantly lose my ringtone settings and see the memory card disconnect & connect. I have done a restore to the day I rooted & haven't done anything to it aside from changing font & freezing apps but it is still happening. Anyone have any advise or should I just try to unroot? If I have to unroot is there a best way to do it?

afaik the only way to unroot would be to use the flashtool to flash a stock ftf
edit: or maybe use the Full Unroot option is supersu, but Im not sure that returns you to stock completely like flashing a stock ftf.

I guess my first question should have been is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Not experience this. If you haven't tried a data wipe I would give that a try. You'll spend less time setting your phone up again than you would trying to figure out why this is happening. Just one suggestion. Hopefully someone has a better answer

Thanks. I think that is gonna have to be the next step. Don't really want to give up root.

I would do the data wipe from the stock sony/android recovery rather than the dual recovery. I read something somewhere by someone who knows "things" that a wipe from stock recover is more complete.

Just beware that wipe from stock recovery should nuke your internal storage so have things backed up
Thanks for the warning. Did the wipe & set everything back up. Disabled apps as opposed to freezing them for now. No other changes until I see how it goes. Then will take it one change at a time. Block ads. Xposed & camera mod. Etc.
Thanks everyone. I'll let ya know if the problem is still present or what sets it off.

Here's hoping all goes well
OK. Factory reset from stock recovery, wiped cache from dual recovery, reloaded basic apps, disabled several & all has been working great.
Installed Xposed & 20MP Superior Auto then the phone will no longer go to Airplane mode or shut down the wireless connection.
Again hard reset, wiped cache, reloaded the backup from before installing Xposed...still won't shut down the wireless & go to airplane mode.
Can't imagine either of those would change the Airplane functionality. Not sure where to go from here.

It was the Setup Wizard! Disable or freeze that & Airplane won't work. What the hell? Time to try the 20MP Superior Auto again.

Good find
try wiping data and factory reset once again. i was also having the same problem but resolved by factory reset two times.
Memory card issues seem to be gone. Reactivated amplify & greenify the other day with no issue. Still need to turn on ad blocking.
Only issue I have now is the audio through my headphones keeps going out. Think my beats headset finally **** the bed. Now I have to figure out a decent pair.
Any suggestions?
I liked beats but some people say it is a gimmick when compared to "good" headphones. What's the best in your opinion?
