WiFi calling is great, and I use it a lot (I have it set to prefer WiFi), but the unclearable notification and the constant icon, especially on the always-on screen is annoying as crap.
Is there any way to hide/kill this notification without root (since we don't have one yet)?
I have tried a few apps on the store, including systemUI Tuner to no avail.
I had the same problem so I just turned mine off
You could probably block notification permission for wifi calling in settings/apps menu, but personally I like the icon to show up, it's the easiest way for me to see if I'm on wifi and if I have a problem, when I should be and I'm not, especially when I'm ready to download some 2 GB update.

This isnt the "on wifi" icon. There is a separate icon on the left side for specifically Wifi Calling. No options to block notification permissions.

Maybe we have different phones: On my phone under wifi calling/ app notification / on lock screen I have 3 options: show content, hide content and do not show notifications. I'm at work now, no wifi calling, so can't test it, but I suspect if you choose "do not show notifications" will get rid of the wifi calling icon. I have wifi on at all times, I could be at home within wifi range and still drop connection somehow, wifi calling icon is the easiest to see if I'm still connected to wifi, it's usually the only icon on the left, even quick glance at the locked screen will tell me if it's on.
if you have adb shell, you can download an app that lets you hide and status bar notification. it's pretty simple and a great app. I have 8 but you can add up to 15 I think quick toggles at the top of my screen. the app is called systemUItuner. here are some screen shots
I can confirm this is an issue. I've had most flagships of the past 3 years on T-Mobile and you can not get rid of this notification on the Note 8 per the usual route. Might have to do the abshell fix.

So I just downloaded this app and tried it and doesn't work ;( I already had ADB installed for doing tweaks on my past 3 phones so I knew how to get around in CMD . I verified the app was working by toggling my wifi icon, bluetooth icon, mobile signal icon etc and they all disappeared and reappeared. But none of them worked for the wifi calling notification. Any tips would be appreciated
Other than it not doing the one thing I need it to, the app is SWEET! I just toggled off battery, wifi, mobile, alarm, bluetooth, etc and it looks SO CLEAN with the top empty like that except for the time Kudos!

Yeah, it was just the entire point of this post was the annoying WiFi calling notification only on T-Mobile phones...
Cool app, just useless for this thread (unless the author updates it).
Found a Solution
I found a pretty easy solution
For Android 8.0+ :
1. First, download AutoNotification
2. Then, open the app and under "Standalone Features" tap "Notification Blocking"
3. Now tap the plus in the upper right and search for "calling"
4. An app called "Wi-Fi Calling" will show up. Tap it. Next a box that says "All Fields Optional" will show up. Just tap OK.
There! You're done! The notification won't show up again unless you remove it from that list and restart your phone!
This method works for any app including the Wi-Fi Calling app. It does not keep the app from running, which means Wi-Fi calling will still work fine while the notification is blocked.
For Android Under 8.0 :
All that needs to be done is force stopping the wifi calling package when you connect to wifi. The package restarts automatically (but does not send the notification again) and I've tested that wifi calling and texting will work fine while using this profile. If wifi disconnects and reconnects the notification will show up again, so the profile stops the package everytime you connect to a network.
The profile will wait 6 seconds after connection to wifi to stop the package (and get rid of the notification) as this is how long it takes for the notification to show up on my phone after I connect to wifi. If the profile doesn't work try tweaking this time to a longer amount of seconds.
Here's the XML for the profile:

So I just put this profile into Tasker then? Could you give instructions. Thanks again for digging into this.
You need to copy and paste that into a text file and make it into an XML file. It needs to have .prf in the name, for example "CoolestProfileEver.prf.xml". Then you need to put that file in sdcard/tasker/profiles. Then go into Tasker and long press on the "Profiles" tab and tap "Import". The file should appear in the list there.

This works perfectly on my Note 8 that just got updated. Thanks!
I might be too late but an easy fix is:
Go to settings > notifications > advanced > tap on 3 dots on top right corner > show system apps > scroll down to Wi-Fi Calling > Wi-Fi Calling > importance > change to low.
And that is it for at least for versions galaxy s8 and up but im sure others would be similar.

This works too, also just turning off Wifi Calling if you do not need it. Keep in mind this means no Wifi texting either. I have been using the AutoNotification notification blocker and it has been working for me! It is completely free and does not need root!

I just got my Note 8 running 8.0.0 and I don't have "importance" option in mine.
I really hate the cluttered notification area, and if there is absolutely no easy way to disable/hide ongoing "Wifi Notification" in notification drawer, I'll have to disable it.
There is already a icon on the icon bar/tray, why do we need to have an ongoing notification in addition to that?
Mine looks like this:

Any suggestions to disable it in some other preferences changes ?

Seriously, i feel like a complete idiot. Where in the hell are the bluetooth settings after the ICS update? Also, while we're at it the only way i can get into Wi-Fi settings is by dropping down the window shade, going to quick settings and then clicking on the wi-fi icon. Where the hell are the actual settings menus?

wow, totally not intuitive, only can access bluetooth settings once you turn it on. Same for wifi
In the Settings menu (via the icon in the app drawer or Menu softkey > Settings from the home screen) click on the text itself to the left side of the toggle switches.
Edit: yep, you can access WiFi's Advanced options while off, but not Bluetooth's settings. It is rather dumb.
I have this really weird icon in my status bar. It is 2 white horizon arrows the top one pointing left and bottom one pointing right. I've searched everywhere. There's nothing about it. It won't go away when I restart my phone either! Please help!
Sorry. It won't let me add a image.
go to settings > mobile networks > access point names, there should only be one data access point name and one mms access point name
if there's more than one remove the others that aren't in use
that is VoLTE icon when is on
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! I did this Setting>Mobile Networks>Network Mode then I selected auto mode. Thanks!
I'm using Santhosh's CM-14 for Xiaome Redmi Note 3. I get tens of Cell Broadcast notifications each day (sound and popup) and I can't turn them off. I go to Settings -> Notifications -> Cell Broadcasts -> Show silently and turn it on. Then go back to Notifications and reenter Cell Broadcasts and it is back to off.
Those notifications are annoying. How to disable them?

there are multiple threads on this topic around already, just search for "cell broadcast".
basically it boils down to disable/remove a system apk..
Just open the message app --> select your sim card --> click wireless alerts --> delete all brad costs ....
On my Galaxy S9 plus unlocked there is a strange icon that is showing up and I cannot find any information. On the screenshot it is a broken line triangle between the battery saver and the Wi-Fi icons. Does anybody know what this icon is?
Data saver.
Settings > Connections > Data (below Bluetooth).
Thanks, but that is not it. When I cut data off the icon stays.
Nooo. Check again.
Settings > Connections > Data usage > Data saver, should be off.

Notifications doesnt show up on lockscreen & online games doesnt connect to servers
I dont know if it is just me but I am not getting any notifications on the lockscreen. I did look into the notification settings for each app. No notifications show up even after enabling lockscreen notifications. This is a huge issue and is really annoying because as such there aren't any notification icons in the status bar. Thanks in advance
Edit: (Another issue is that most online games does not connect to their servers at all. PUBG, Dragonball Heroes.) My mistake guys. It was my router's problem, not the phones. Sorry!
Have you enabled lock screen notification for each app, which is different from system wide option?
For the online games, I don't have the problem. You might had tinkered with a wrong option. Kindly check them all one by one.

Thanks but I figured out the online games issue. It is a problem with my new router. Had to change its settings. Totally unrelated to the phone.
About the notifications, I did enable them individually but it didnt change anything. The lockscreen is empty all the time. I have to pull the notification shade down to see any updates.
PS: This is my first time using MIUI. The settings are kinda confusing

I also bought the f1, I've had rmn 3 pro / 5 pro ad MI 5s plus. All of them where pure miui and I'm sorry to say this but the f1 has a poco launcher and I haven't tried other launchers yet but the f1 doesn't show icons on top notification bar. It's supposed to be like that which is annoying as hell!

It depends from the theme you are using. Some of them has that feature some doesn't.

Notifications are not showing up in screen lock of POCO F1
I read all the blogs to fix this issue but a simple action made my notifications to pop up on my lock screen. Initially, when the phone gets manufactured, the software would have set some default value(ON/OFF) but the real value will be set for particular action only when the user explicitly sets it so, just try following steps which may solve your problem(Solved for me).
> Go to settings
> Go to Notifications and status bar
> you will be able to see a toggle button of "Show on lock screen". Just make it as disabled and then enable it.
> then on the same screen select App notification.
> select any app for which you want to show up the notifications on lock screen.
> Enable show notification and App icon badge.
> for example, I selected Gmail and clicked on Email and enabled lock screen notification and floating notification.
For me, it started working fine only by disabling and enabling the toggle button of "Show on lock screen" and I have selected POCO F1 default theme which is a standard MI theme of POCO.
Nope, I am still not able to enable notifications on my lock screen in my new poco f1
I just updated to the new miui 12. The official update as my phone is not rooted.
Now I got the same problem, there are absolutely no notifications on the lockscreen. Why? Anybody else has the same problem?
Before you ask me, yes, of course I have enabled the notifications at the settings
