Hey
This is my first post and I don't know if this is the right thread or not so I'll just cut to the chase
So I have Sony XPERIA C5 Ultra E5553 for half a year now.
On July 6th 2017, My phone just shutdowns and really hard to boot. I noticed that maybe my battery is getting disconnected in some sort of ways. (Because while charging the LED light is RED while it's even fullcharged)
So on the 7th of July I send it to the warranty Service Repair SONY Philippines.
For almost 3 months of waiting I got my device back last September 28 2017 (talk about really slow repair progress)
I noticed that my phone is Updated to the latest Android Version Marshmallow.
Upon inserting my sim card I noticed that it kept on showing the sim card logo on top even though I already restarted my device. I leave it that, arriving back at home I noticed that my signal bar is empty. Before giving my phone to Service Center my phone can generate 3 signal bars in GSM mode which I always use for battery purposes. So I restarted my device with same result the SimCard logo is back on top.
Pissed, I restarted my phone for 4 times noticing that sometimes the Sim Card logo is replaced with empty signal bars (which I said Supposedly have 3 bars).
Upon my curiosity, i tried to type the *#06# and upon my discovery my IMEI number is missing and replaced with NULL.
I tried to contact SONY for why did that happened but sadly no response.
After a few hours I noticed that my phone will pick up signal full bars on GSM, 3G and LTE and checking my *#06# my IMEI is now back. (On some location which have REALLY high signal)
Even right now, I tried to restart my phone again always the same having no IMEI for almost 1 hour then after and hour the Signal will appear strong. Moving in different places where signals are a bit low it goes blank and will never receive anymore signals even I moved back to high signal areas.
I'm having 3 theories,
A. Sony sabotage the repairs because I kept messaging them to speed up the process (because it took them 3 months to replace a battery where I can do in few hours). PS. They even broke our sony sound system when we send it for repairs last 4 years ago.
B. The Marshmallow update because sometimes the screen stutters occasionally. And because, I have an old phone that I updated to different ROMs that sometime FIRMWARE affects Hardware functions
C. My phone is broken and I need a new one which I can't afford because I'm not even done paying the credit on my Xperia.
For anyone will kidnly help please help.
Because if not, a few days from now SONY will soon receive a tons of message coming from me using my hundreds of Accounts just to spam them to replace my device.
Good day and I really hope I posted this on the right thread.Sorry for the Long story really need to remove this from my chest

Hi well my phone randomly did this earlyer.
Got home, started making the sound when you plug the charger in constantly, even when the charge was plugged in and taken out again.
Turned it off to restart it and then a battery sign appeared on the screen alternating with a flashing tempreture sign and a warning triangle.
My phone wouldn't turn on again. Took the battery out again and then all my phone would do is put a circle sign on the srceen then a battery, still wouldn't turn on.
My phone randomly turned on 10 minutes later. But still made the battery sound just nowhere near as often.
Phoned orange up to get a replacement, and she told me she would arrange one the next day, she then said there was a problem with replacing them as there is a problem with all galaxy s2's.. or theres a problem with all the galaxy s2 replacements, one of the two.
So..what could be the problem with mine? and is it common?

Samsung just fixed mine for this same problem. Its a problem with the USB host. Basically bit of dust or moisture gets inside the charging port. They will fix it if you take it for repair, or you can do it yourself, if you search on this board you'll find out how.
Mine has now broke a 2nd time though since getting it back a week ago, as mine now wont turn on at all...
These phone makers should give up, or maybe i'm just unlucky.
Never seen this issue on my S2 which I have been using since August last year. I can't see the replacement having the same issue. Fingers crossed.

Its a very common problem. All over the web.
Ah I'm glad about that, this is my second galaxy s2 and I only got it in like September last year, so thought she wasn't going to give me a replacement then lol. I swear these are poor build quality... my last one had poor problems such as the screen not being level (Glass sticking up at left side) and problems like that which is just poor lol. Love the phone however...
Build quality seems to be very poor of these phones, which is ashame, because the phone itself is really really good. Like I say common problem, they will fix it.
Ah cheers, will try to go through Orange when they phone me back tomorrow as I dropped mine a while ago and it's got a rough bit on the corner so I'd prefer a nice new one
My build quality is fine and few users report your problems out of the millions sold .
Dust or moisture in any USB port can cause problems .

Mine started doing the same after less than a month, would make the charge dis-charge sound constantly and I couldn't turn the phone off as it would turn back on.
cleaning out the charging port temporary fixed the problem, but after a few weeks it started happening again.
I brought my phone on 12 Nov 2011 and I returned it to Amazon UK on 23rd January 2012 using Amazons extended return policy around the Christmas period.
I have had the replacement for getting on 3weeks now and this phone has been okay and I have noticed that the battery life is quite a bit better than the other one was.
I did contact samsung before returning it to Amazon but got a useless reply.

We are sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing with your handset. Issues like these often occur when the firmware on the device is in of being updated. Had the same a couple of times, blowing and pulling the charger jack towards the screen does the trick for me.
Hi i too has the same problem. I checked with local samsung service center and they informed that there is some water spots in board and for this we need to replace board and display.
Is it true?
Can anyone help me!!
2 weeks ago, I took my galaxy S2 back to the shop to get it fixed under warranty.
The USB port was broken, as with so many S2's. I got it back after 2 weeks and the port was replaced for free.
But now the speaker doesn't work anymore! So I get no notifications when called or texted or alarm or can't play music, the phone thinks it plays the noise, but it doesn't. Also in the *#0*# menu, when speaker is pressed, nothing happens, no sound at all.
The internal speaker to make a call does work, so you can hear the recipient of the call.
But if that wasn't enough, I also get bad reception where before I would always have great reception. Now it just goes away and the phone almost never gets more than 2 bars, while my friends with the same carrier get full reception. I put my simcard in my other phone and there I have good reception, so it's not the sim card that is the problem. Also the wifi reception is worse. How is this even possible? My phone is worse than before. Before I got 3 bar Wifi connection in my room and 1 bar in the bathroom and now 1 or sometimes 2 bars in my room and no reception in the bathroom.
I reset the phone and everything, also searched the forums and found nothing.
I'm not very eager to send it in again, since they make them worse than before.
Anyone got a solution?

Hello peeps,
had my S3 for 7 months and it's starting to play up, I dropped it in the car once on to the carpet, and it went for a quick dip in the bathroom, however once all dried out and what not it was fine.
However i've a recent problem that started about 3 weeks ago.
I was browsing imgur and the screen flickered like if you moved a TV aerial (lines horizontal) and it switched off. Then I was stuck in a boot loop regardless of flashing any ROM until I used ODIN to restore to a stock ROM, everything seemed ok so I went back to Omega ROM. The on going problem is in phone calls I'll go from 5 bars of H signal to a circle with a line through it. the phone says no network coverage, once it gets back into gear sometimes 5 seconds other times 5 minutes the signal comes up 5 bars try to make a call, 'not registered on network' give it a minute and it works again only to make another call and it happen again, sometimes it's a 90 min call other times it's a minute.
I've contacted my provider for a new SIM as once it said 'No SIM inserted' however I think it's a bit more than a SIM issue any advice welcome
I did search for the issue and people mentioned IMEI numbers being incorrect or missing, mine IS CORRECT and present.
Any help very welcome.
Thanks
Luke.

Has anyone started or has had issues with the V10 becoming progressively non-responsive?
My wife and I both have the V10, mine being recently replaced due to what looked like memory corruption as icons started showing as grey blocks randomly even after a restore from my pc. Hers is starting to exhibit multiple of the same issues plus more even after a restore from pc:
Not powering on requiring battery pull
No longer accepting double tap to wake/sleep
Icons starting to become grey blocks
slowness to responses
Phone calls are not coming through at times
Verizon has replaced my phone but the fact that hers is starting to show the exact same issues has me wondering if there is a bigger issue to these phones. My new phone has started to show the issues of double tap not responding, there is not an app that is causing wakelock or draining battery. I don't have unusual apps loaded on either phones and have tried going a few days fully stock and it is still exhibiting the issues.
If there is, is there anyway to get Verizon to move us out of these phones if it continues as I'm not going to have a phone that is going to constantly have issues.
after they replace it 3 times you can generally negotiate a different model.
My family's two V10s are starting to show their age. Okay, my wife's crapped out last week so it is definitely aged. The phone got really hot, drained the battery, and kept rebooting. Then it got locked into an eternal bootloop. The only way I got it to boot was to put it in the freezer. I had connected a cable to it and was able to get most of the data off running the cable out of the freezer to a laptop. I still have some other stuff to recover. Hopefully the freezer trick works again.
But now my V10 is having radio issues. It switches between 4G, 3G, and 1x constantly. I'll be in a location that I know has a 4G signal and pull out my phone only to see 1x. The other day it wouldn't find the GPS signal if it was plugged in. Time to backup my data and see if Vz will replace it.
Sad thing is that I declined the insurance coverage. So once my 1 year warranty is up I'll have to buy a new phone. Easy come, easy go.
You can still add insurance to the lines it's never to late. When one customer service rep says no hang up and call again and it doesn't hurt to play stupid and nice. For some reason they do what you ask if they feel smarter then you and I.
Sent from my XPOSED V10
My v10 started running hotter than normal and my battery drain was more. I replaced the old battery with a new one and the problem seems to have gone away. In my case I think the battery was getting too hot and was making the phone run hot and unresponsive.
Kickin' it on my VS990
Heya so it all started about a month ago when my phone would suddenly loose connection to cell tower, the only way to fix it was to reboot the phone, but now since a week or so, i cannot get anymore signal no matter what i do (signal icon next to battery percentage stays at 0 bar and a little x on top left of it), rebooting does not help and even doing a factory reset did nothing, i went to local bell store, one of the seller tried my sim card into his personal phone and it worked. They suggested that i go to a repair store. I did not drop my phone since forever, although it did heat up quite a lot about 3 months ago (charging under a pillow while running a video, it was hot to touch in the morning).
I was wondering if its a common issue or if anyone got an idea whats going on, im thinking itt might be a hardware issue with the transreceiver or whatever its called.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Ok what the hell, it just came back after over a week, rebooted a dozen time but this time it fixed it, for now.
Although with the new work contract i work in an area with very high magnetic field at specific spot (400000 or 600000 amp of power going tru the building), like some hand tool would would hold straight up in the palm of my hand and even my versaflo respirator would go crazy, passed a dozen time in such field with my phone in pocket, maybe that helped?
