I want to replace the default video player that comes with AICP with MX Player to play everything but not just that, I know I can just select "Always" when it asks me what I what to play a file with.
I'm asking this because I was trying to make a GIF from a video but all apps play the video(s) very laggy. This does not happen with MIUI since the default MIUI video player was able to play those videos.
So, does anyone knows how to replace the stock video player with MX Player? So all apps use MX Player and not the stock one to play the videos by default.
I've already tried freezing/disabling the gallery app but no effect.
Thanks in advance.

But I can't find the icon.
The stock Music player has an icon.
The stock Video player does not have an icon. Unless I can't find it.
I know I can download some players in the Market but the stock video player is actually good for me. Plays mkv with no issue.
Can u find the stock Video player icon?
I can play the videos by going to File Manager or Gallery.

You can find the video via Gallery or Mizuu app.. and from then, stock video player will handle the rest.
Personally I recommend Mizuu.. it just has nicer organizing feature.
It doesn't have a stock icon for it, per se. Its the gallery video player that is stock. Only way to access it is just to click on video then it'll ask you what method you want to use. Choose stock player if you want. Another way is to press the stock video icon. Stock player OK but you really need to get MX player or Dice Player.

Hello Everyone!
I am unable to play some videos (which are in .flv format) from Gallery. I understand that HTC Desire X doesn't support .flv videos by default, but we can play it using other players like MX Video Player. How can i choose to open those videos to play in MX Video Player from gallery?
I am able to play those videos after i open MX Video Player. But, i am unable to play it directly from gallery or through OI File Manager.
I have tried clearing defaults of APPS in settings of "Gallery" and "View Video".
Is it possible to get an option to choose video players in HTC Desire X?
Thanks

As you already know know that our phone doesn't support 720p play back, If your flv file is in 720p resolution then it wont play at all no matter what you do.If your file is in lesser resolution then you can play it with good video player like MX video player (but you need to install codac for armv7). other good player is Super video (it can even play 720p videos with ease when SW decorder enabled)
But, how can i make MX Video Player as my default video player in HTC Desire X?
Also, my question was "Is it possible to get an option to choose video players in HTC Desire X when playing videos from Gallery?"
Maybe..Try to open the video from ES Explorer and will ask you with what player to play chose MX Player by deault...Maybe that will work.
Hey guys,
my question is How to change default video player. I really need to change it beacuse that video player cant open all of the formats, so I can't open snapchat videos. Basically i just want to make snapchat videos work on my phone. Every time when i want to open snapchat videos i get : 'Can't play this video'. So i thought it's video player problem, but even if i got MX Player installed (or other vid players, i tried many of them) i can't open videos on snapchat. Maybe if I could change default video player or disable that LG video player snapchat would use MX Player instead.
Try Default App Manager Lite application. It should help you setting the default app used per file type.
Running: Cm12 (OTA) One Plus One
I cannot play videos with the stock video player. Not a big deal right? Just use VLC or MX player, which is fine for videos --> but this is affecting Snapchat as well. If I record a snap video, it records fine, but when it starts to play back it CANT and I get a "cannot play this video" error.
If I open up my camera and shoot a video, if I want to play it back using stock video player I get 'cannot play this video" but if I use VLC or MX player, it plays fine.
I think the stock video player is broken and its affecting my snapchats, what do I do?
