Rooting of Cloudfone Excite Prime 2 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, i just bought a filipino brand Cloudfone Exite Prime 2 that i want to root, but can't find any way that works.
I have tried KingRoot app and through PC, same with KingoRoot but nothing works.
I have enabled USB Debugging and pretty sure i also managed to open Fastboot, but nothing works
Any tips on how to try next?
This is the phone i have, running 7.0 Nougat Edit cant post links, but its a Cloudfone Excite Prime 2
Any help on possible solutions are welcome!

Hi, what are the full specifications of the phone?
Note: To get root, you need to install TWRP on your phone and flash SuperSU!

If you can upload these files from your stock rom, I will make a TWRP for you.
Files needed:
boot.img
recovery.img
build.prop (you can copy it using root explorer app, it's inside system folder)

Do you have stock rom for your device (the files you use in order to flash it)?
If you don't know what that is, I humbly ask you to stop here and reach out to someone who knows how these things work before doing anything at all.

I have a Lenovo A269i bought from here:
lelong.com.my/lenovo-ideaphone-a269i-dual-sim-1ghz-processor-3-5-inch-satugadgetdotcom-142728589-2014-04-Sale-P.htm
Take a look. I believe it's already rooted but not sure since I only use it as a MiFi hotspot device. If it's the same phone as yours then I can help create a backup rom and post it here, provided you list down all the steps I need to do to create one using only free tools.

ok, got adb working. bad luck, the partitions are ubifs.
Code:

That it is impossible:
make CWM, it needs to be done with ubifs support
write boot through the program, it kills phone (while it is unclear why)
Download ubifs blocks from a program backup through FlashTool, it will kill a phone

For this phone, you will have to make a a recovery using Carliv's recovery. Head to http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1825722 and download CTR, it's an automatic tool to enable you to make a recovery for UBIFS file system.

No. My backup system uses the ubifs filesystem which isn't properly supported by the mediatek tools. That said, there is one guy on this forum who knows how to fix this. I'll quote him below:

You don't need to root Lollipop to install a custom ROM. In case you just want to root lollipop, download the super user zip file. Just google it. Launch TWRP and install the zip file. That's all.

I have been trying this method but doesn't seems to work, I already changed the name of the twrp img file but nothing :crying: any suggests?
You need to tell it where the file is located, the easiest way to do this is to put the TWRP file in a folder and then hold down the shift key and right click with your mouse inside the folder you put the file in. You should see an option to open command window here. Select this and try flashing TWRP again. It should work. Here is an explanation with pictures of what I was talking about with the open command window here http://michaelcrump.net/power-tip-for-windows-users-open-command-prompt-here/

I wasn't able to root it yet. ?

I tried the lastest KingRoot version but it didn't work.
I'm on stock recovery and my my Mediapad runs T1-701uV100R001C100B109.
I haven't tested yet. I gathered all (few) useful things.
One is latest KingRoot and then I have downloaded latest Huawei firmware which seems to be "Huawei_MediaPad T1 7.0_Firmware_T1-701w_Android 4.4.2_EMUI 3.0_V100R001C232B009CUSTC232D001_West European_Channel-Others.zip". And I am pretty sure this firmware update doesn't "fit" my device, as it's a "T1-701u".
The point is that without root and without a decent recovery, there's little to play with!

I tried to install another firmware, T1-701uV100R001C100B005, and then rooted with KingRoot (latest). It worked perfectly, but there were some issues. Front camera didn't work, and themes application crashed.
So I re-flashed the backup. Waiting for solutions. BTW, even without root, I can enjoy my Mediapad.

I can enjoy any Android device that:
has a decent recovery (CWM, PhilZ Touch, TWRP)
has a lean and mean system (CM, barebones AOSP, a few other ROMs and, to some extent, MIUI)
has no bloatware at all (minimum gapps, no branded apps, no nonsense)

Very unlikely!
There are only a few apps for FM radio. Spirit FM is one but I am not sure it will work on the T1-701u and am not even sure the FM radio has been wired in. GSMArena is not sure about the presence of the FM hardware...

It is not a mainstream tablet. It is just another tablet with bare-bones specs from Huawei. Plus it is run by Spreadtrum processor. You won't find any custom ROMs. Root it if you can and make it to your liking and use it. Don't waste your time waiting for a custom ROM that never was.
Anyone.Help me to install custom recovery such as CWM,TWRP,etc. Is there any recovery in this tab?
Only a hint: at Huawei official site is (for germany, maybe also for other countrys) a new firmware: download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=73107&version=267628&sit eCode=de
I flashed this, rooted it with kingo root app. Now I am able to remount /system/bin
I am used this for change the content of the "charge" file to
#!/bin/sh
/system/bin/reboot
The Mediatab boots now when I put the charger in the tablet. (For car navigation).
Works well for me. Device is a Huawei Mediatab t1-701u

I am facing the exact issue. After flashing a different firmware, my camera is not working and themes dont have nothing in it. Only difference is I dont have a backup to go back to. Would you be able to upload your backup for me? Will it work?

Sorry dude, I can't. I deleted it from the laptop where it was stored. I can try to do another backup for you as soon as I can.

That would be very helpful if you could do it and share with me the file. I have searched everywhere and couldn't find the firmware.

I'm out of town these days, and my Mediapad is not with me.
When I come home, I will try.
BTW, try to do some search on Huawei official site. Maybe you find the firmware you need. I tell you this because the firmware is different for region to region. And that's why I've had issues installing another firmware.
Stock Recovery
Can anybody please upload the stock recovery,i tried to flash a custom recovery but it didnt work, now can't get back tk thee stock recovery.

I am used this for change the content of the "charge" file to
#!/bin/sh
/system/bin/reboot
The Mediatab boots now when I put the charger in the tablet. (For car navigation).
Works well for me. Device is a Huawei Mediatab t1-701u

did you use kingroot, and kingoroot? the apk file AND the PC installer? Try different versions of each. Some did my MTK phone, and some didnt. Was trial and error for me but eventually one of them did, this one to be exact.
tried it and no luck at all..
