I am using the bluetooth headphones for listening music from Amazfit, but sometimes I found that even the max. volume is not sufficient. Is there any way to change it? By some ADB command?
Thanks
in shell, type:
content insert --uri content://settings/system --bind value:s:15 --bind name:s:volume_music_bt_a2dp
don't forget to reboot afterwards, and set the volume to the max, again.
This solved the issue, thanks a lot!
On latest PACEfied you can just enter :
Code:
adb root
adb shell btVolBoost

Increase Max Audio Volume
Hello everyone! I'm not a developer but I'm too interested in increase the volume and reading this thread I'm certain it requires some knowledge do it so. Is there any walkthrough or could someone help me do it, in case isn't so complicated? Thanks!!
To do this you have to install adb on your computer. This is how
https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/
Connect your device to your pc and launch command prompt in administrator mode
Start adb services and check if your device is connected using this command
Code:
adb devices
you can add the increase volume code next
Code:
adb shell content insert --uri content://settings/system --bind value:s:15 --bind name:s:volume_music_bt_a2dp
restart your device after

Hello guys, I also have the same music volume problem while using amazfit with Bluetooth earbuds. But my amazfi is Chinese version, so my question is. Will same solution work for me too? and after playing with ADB does watch encounter any other issues, like slow booting or it's operating is slower than usual.
Hi guys, I'm trying to do this on my Amazfit Verge but it didn't work. Any other tips?

If you have been greeted by these hateful messages when trying to connect to Miracast (EZcast)
"Could not turn on Screen mirroring. The output device is not ready or does not support HDCP."
"Could not start mirroring on the screen. Make sure the output device supports HDCP."
Probably you already have tried changing /system/etc/wfdconfig.xml:
Code:

to
Code:

<ContentProtection>
<Valid>0</Valid>

After that the mirroring probably worked but got greeted by

Xperia Home, Video, Music or Walkman, Settings"

"
Your output device does not support HDCP. Cannot mirror. You still can mirror some apps and unprotected content to the device."
There is a very easy fix, in this file /system/build.prop just below
Code:
persist.debug.wfd.enable=1
add
Code:
persist.debug.wfd.appmonitoring=1
and then from ADB
Code:
adb shell su setprop persist.debug.wfd.appmonitoring 1
Restart your phone, it should work.
As @s107ken mentioned in #14, In case of boot loop, go to TWRP and then
Code:
adb shell chmod 644 /system/build.prop

Hi, after doing everything OP described my phone went on to bootloop after restart. I restored everything from TWRP backup and tried again, same thing happened after changing the build.prop and rebooting (now I didn't even change wfdconfig.xml, so the changed build.prop must be causing the bootloop, right?). Am I doing something wrong?
adb shell chmod 644 /system/build.prop
Sent from my GT-I9305 using XDA Free mobile app
thanks a lot s107ken, that solved the bootloop problem, but still screen mirroring doesn't work properly and gives me HDCP error. I am on 5.1.1 btw... could that be the real issue here?

Can't believe it! That fixed everything!
Few things I want to note:
I did this on a Unlocked / Rooted Xperia Z4 LTE (v.260)
I followed all the steps listed in the original post and ended up in a bootloop.
Using the method @s107ken mentioned above ( adb shell chmod 644 /system/build.prop ) in TWRP fixed the bootloop.
Can confirm this is still working on the newer devices. Great to be able to cast to large screens again. Thanks @themightydeity and @s107ken

In CN version you can active the app list in the watch, if you have not already enabled "Launcher App List", go to "More Settings" -> "About" -> Keep clicking legal information till you see countdown to zero. Once that is done, you will have the Lab link below. Click on Lab and select "Launcher AppList". This will restart your Launcher. Now go to the Right most app from your watch face, you will see the Launcher.
This method allows you to activate the app list also on the American versions so as to use the third-party app!
Connect the watch to your computer via USB and access via ADB (install ADB Drivers as needed)
Open command prompt or shell
Enter the commands :
Code:
adb shell
> /sdcard/launcher_config.ini
am force-stop com.huami.watch.launcher
After Launcher restart you can go to the Right most app from your watch face and you will see the App List.
Thank you very much! US firmware 1.3.1, this did work. I was able to install and use AmazfitCNTimer.apk without installing Chinese firmware.
# SEE EDIT!
On 1.3.1m watch model a1612 your instructions return:
Code:
adb shell
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5038 *
* daemon started successfully *
[email protected]:/ # /sdcard/launcher_config.ini
/sdcard/launcher_config.ini
/system/bin/sh: /sdcard/launcher_config.ini: not found
Further, if I proceed to force-stop the launcher does restart but of course there is no app launcher as expected.
# EDIT
Just realized I needed to include the '>' to create the file. I'll take noob mistakes for 500, Alex.

Hello there. I was using this metod on last 1.3.2b update and it was working.
Now i've received 1.3.3a, that should have app list by default.
But it desapparead from the watch, and also using this method, i have no more app list.
any idea?
PS:
Amazfit PACE US
Jun 2017 firmware 1.3.3a was supposed to include the app list as a feature.
I tried to enable it by going in to the menu > About > Legal and tapping 5 times but there was no app list in the new Lab menu.
So I tried the adb shell command and it worked.
To reverse this, do we just delete the launcher_config.ini?
Also, I tried to pull that file and look at it but couldn't:
adb pull /sdcard/launcher_config.ini c:/temp
Got no errors, but got no file in C:\temp.

I really want to switch to WOS 2.0, but the one thing preventing me from doing so is that the voice prompt (when running with bluetooth headphones), would be in chinese.
I know that pacefied has english voice prompts (or had, as I believe it's not working in the most recent versions)
So my question is: is it a simple case of copying over some english voice files to the watch?
Could I install WOS 2.0 and then after installation copy the english files ?
I did replace the chinese voiceprompts with the english ones in the NewWearSport.apk, installed the rooted spanished version from here:
https://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=1412777
and replaced the NewWearSport.apk via adb.
Everything installed well and is working well but I don't hear any voiceprompts. Since I don't have that much outdoor activities now due to an injury I couldn't check, why the voiceprompts are not working. I guess it is better to wait for Saratoga79 to have it done.

You mean you couldn't hear the voice prompts when your bluetooth headphones were connected? Could you hear chinese voice prompts instead?
I realise that Saratoga could probably solve this problem fairly easily (that guy really seems to know what he's doing), but I don't want to keep asking him cos I realise he's busy.
I feel like it must be just a case of replacing files in the file system. Or is it not that simple?
Voiceprompts are in the NewWearSport.apk integrated. I replaced the Chinese ones with the English ones. I didn't check the Chinese ones before. You have to open the apk files to do so. For this you can use several tools. Since my manipulated apk did install properly I guess it is save to assume, that I did it allright.

I see. My assumption was as follows:
When you install an apk, the files are unzipped to the android file system somewhere (e.g. a newwearsport/voiceprompt folder or something). I thought that (without installing a new apk) you could just copy english files directly to the folder. Perhaps there is some technical reason why this isn't possible. I know very little about this stuff.
The version of the voice files in EN is missing some phrases in the new sport app, but the version in Spanish seems to be complete. I will do some tests today, trying to use ES+EN, so no words in CN...

I just had a look on the watch to be on the safe side.
This quoted assumption is wrong. The only trace of the NewWearSport.apk I found was under:
\system\app\NewWearSport\NewWearSport.apk.
Where is a Subfolder mips which contains the actual code as odex file which I didn't touch.
We have some traces in the data folder :
\data\data\com.huami.watch.newsport
but not the voicefiles. So in my opinion the only way to get to this files is via replacing them in the NewWearSport.apk and installing the new version of this apk.

I just did a quick and dirty replace of the voices with ES + EN, still a few phrases in CN but I think that all of them are used only for VO2max which is deactivated on Pace.

Nice work, will add this to next WOS ROM.
Btw, note that I had some problems with voices using different bitrate, frecuency or channel number comparing to stock CN voices. I face several Bluetooth issues due to this, even bluetooth disconnections, so be advised.

Thanks. And thank you for all the work you've done for the Amazfit community as well. No problems with my testings yesterday, I did a walk and also indoor running for testing. But this was the initial version, a quick build for testing purposes. Many of phrases can be improved, maybe it's better to wait until it's finished.

I have tested with walk and indoor run and it worked with me, enabled most voice alerts and I could hear warning on pace, heartrate and distance. If you don't connect the headphones in the Accessories part of the activity settings, then try to start playing a music before you start the activity and then pause it using the headset to make sure it's activated.

Thanks for the support.
Headphones were connected and playing music fine before.
I think I have an idea whats wrong.
1) I run with airplane mode on but bluetooth activated. (PaceON)
2) I did not use the settings accessories to connect with the headphones but did it before with music.
3) Auto Lap - off
Have test this theorie further.

Btw, note that I had some problems with voices using different bitrate, frecuency or channel number comparing to stock CN voices. I face several Bluetooth issues due to this, even bluetooth disconnections, so be advised.

NewWearSport concatenates all the mp3 files needed to form the phrase in a temporary mp3 file.... these means that all mp3 files need to be same bitrate and with no headers (xing, id3, VBRI or another tags at the start or end of the file)
I have a small local network:
• A router not connected to the Internet
• 20 tablets that connect to it
• a computer under linux with LAMP
• a computer under windows with WAMP
When I want to install new apps on the tablets, I have to plug them one by one into a computer and run ADB commands. Would it be possible to execute these commands over WiFi? All tablets are rooted and the network is secure because there is no internet access. So I wouldn't be afraid to use security holes to carry out adb commands over WiFi.
Example of remarkable ADB commands:
• Place files on the tablet: adb push C:/APPLICATIONS/TitaniumBackup/ /sdcard/
• Install several applications: for %f in (C:\ APPLICATIONS\*.Apk) do adb install -t -g -r "%f"
• Start an application: adb shell am start -n com.package.name/com.package.name.ActivityName
•take photos
• activate or deactivate wifi
• Re-boot the tablet: adb reboot
• etc.
I would like to be able to do this on all 20 tablets via the wifi network rather than plugging them one by one into my computer.
Thank you in advance for any ideas you can share with me.

Yes, android supports ADB over WiFi.
Do a google search for:
"ADB over Wifi"

Yes, indeed, the answer was easily found on the web. I asked it because that day I split one big issue into several smaller ones to post requests on your forum. And I never imagined it would be so easy to connect 20 tablets to each other using a local wifi network and adb. The app jwoegerbauer recommended to me is just wonderful. Now I can:
- simultaneously install an application on the 20 tablets from my PC:
FOR /F "skip=1" %x IN ('adb devices') DO start adb -s %x install -r "my-apk.apk"
- uninstall an application on the 20 tablets
- place folders or files I want where I want on all the tablets (they are rooted):
FOR /F "skip=1" %x IN ('adb devices') DO start adb -s %x push C:/my-file/ /sdcard/
- take a file from each tablet or delete it
- even take a screenshot of the tablet I want:
adb -s 192.168.43.122:5555 shell screencap /sdcard/testadb/screen.png
or 20 tablets:
FOR /F "skip=1" %x IN ('adb devices') DO start adb -s %x shell screencap /sdcard/testadb/screen.png
Many thanks to jwoegerbauer for recommending the Wireless ADB application to me.
However, I would like to explore the matter further. The problem I'm looking to solve is to manage a group of tablets without internet and without having to pay an MDM (Android mobile device manager). With ADB, I can install and uninstall applications and send or receive files. Here is what remains to be done:
- I am learning how to remotely change the settings of my 20 tablets. Imagine how tedious it is to turn on the wifi on each of the tablets, then select a network and enter the password. Sometimes I need to turn off wifi or change networks on all tablets. I also have to change the default display or font size. Last week, I've had to set the time and time zone on each one because "network provided time" does not work in a local area network not connected to the Internet. I will tell you which adb formulas I have tested if anyone is interested.
- I also started an other thread on xda-developers: Remotely modify the settings of an android application. Indeed, it takes a plenty of time to manually change the preferences and datas of an application already installed on 20 tablets. If you have any ideas on this, I'd be happy to read your ideas on the forum.
AFAIK USB hubs with 20 ports exist
