For some time now my Xperia Tablet Z has been feeling a bit slow to load web pages. After some performance profiling I came to the conclusion that the problem is its Javascript performance. Many web sites nowadays use large amounts of Javascript to build up their content and this is reflected poorly on browser processing times. For example, on a Finnish news site www.yle.fi the script processing on my Xperia Tablet Z usually takes something like 15-20 seconds whereas on my Xperia Z5 Compact it seems to take roughly half that time.
To get some comparable figures I ran some online Javascript benchmarks and here are the results:
sunspider-0.9.1 (lower times are better) :
Xperia Tablet Z ~ 2400 - 2700 ms
Xperia Z5 Compact ~ 1000 - 1400 ms
JetStream 1.1 (higher scores are better) :
Xperia Tablet Z ~ 14
Xperia Z5 Compact ~ 27 - 36
I did try these benchmarks on both Chrome and Firefox and there is no significant difference between the two. I'm currently running crDroidAndroid 3.7.
I'm wondering if these performance figures are in the right ballpark and therefore it would be nice to have some results from other owners of Xperia Tablet Z for comparison. In addition to the benchmark results, please include information on which ROM / kernel you are currently running. Thanks in advance!
The hardware in tablet remains the same all the time, while workload increase constantly.
So there should be no surprise, that it takes long for tablet to process information.
On RR 5.8.4 with built-in kernel, i got 2477ms in SunSpider | 15.238 in JetStream in chrome-based browser, so your results are in the same ballpark as mine.

Hi I came from Xperia T2 Ultra usually get around 8-10 hrs sreen.on time with lowest brightness, no auto sync, stamina mode on + queue background, browsing all the time, playing some games around 10-30 min Aspahlt 8, no location on no scanning.wifi.even.when.off, watching youtube with 80%-100% sound @360-720p with facebook or facebook lite turn on sometimes, wifi on all the times and mobile network set ti gsm only. Is this possible with Xperia Z2? Or even.greater with the same.usage? I usually get 1 hr + screen.on time with 10% depleting on my battery so estimate is 1hr+ scrren.on time = 10% battery depletion. Thanks, sorry for bad English. I really like Z2 so maybe its better than Z3. Right now I'm on 75% Battery with 3 hrs and 13 seconds screen on time I did not play Asphalt 8 at this day yet.
The answer is no. You can't get this because z2 is much more powerful device, where performance = power consumption.
I usually get 15-18% of battery usage per hour (depending on rom).
However playing asphalt will drain the battery very fast.
Expect 5h+ sot time.
PS. I don't play games on the phone.
Of course to achieve similar results you could limit cpu frequencies.

Well some people seem to got 8-9 SOT and GSMArena rated Web Browsing at 11hr and.32 vs T2 @12hr and 12min. If I apply same usage will I achieve a little less.or equally SOT? If onlg Web.Browsing.plus my settings? Thanks. I think Z2.is a.really big step up from Z1. I had Z1 once.it was given.to me the device I waited for 2 yrs was.lose good thing I was Alright thank God.
EDIT:I also have off my Xperia and Android dev management only on was Enterprise. Lanhs usage of T2 Ultra from Android Authority he got 6.5 hrs SOT on my phone.

Of course if you apply all those power saving settings you will get better results, but as long as you won't limit your cpu frequency you can't expect such a good results, because the phone uses 2.27ghz very often when you browse Internet.

Which has better screen on time? Xperia Z3 or Z2? Well for me I like the Z2 overall. Escpecially the light bar notification. Whats your usage on Z2 on that 5SOT? Because of GSMarenas battery test which is very close to my T2 Ultra I think Z2 is twice better than Z1 based on results. and a total of Z2 is 89h vs my T2 96h vs Z1 53h.

I can't speak about z3 because I don't own this device, but it will probably have the same battery life as it has almost the same specs.
For me it's mostly browsing Internet, sometimes listening to music, visiting xda, etc. but not playing games, and in this way I can easily get 5h+ sot.
I had z1 long time ago and the battery life was almost the same, however I wouldn't recommend z1.

I was very sad when I heard that. Almost the same as Z1? Thats very sad. Many people said battery life has greatly improved on the Z2. And most tests proved that Screen on time has greatly improved. Thats why I was amaze at Z2 even at Sony's website. Video playback has greatly increased. And GSM tests also proved that without underclocking. Do you think Sony will still repair the Xperia Z2 after 2 yrs???
I can get nearly of 7 and on WiFi 8 hours of screen, I use Greenify with Xposed, I hibernate everything except systems apps and Whatsapp, stamina mode on all the time, see image attached

Can you get 10hrs screen on time if you do my usage? I usually get 8-10hrs at 20% left on my T2 Ultra. I think with almost similar results of T2 Ultra and Z2 at GSMAarena I think its possible with Z2. Well my T2 Ultra drains faster if I have 3G and LTE. On. I want Z2 cause its cheaper and gorgeous.

- Browse with Google Chrome and watch youtube @360-720p. With 80% volume most of the time.
- Facebook not log in sometimes I use Facebook Lite. Or not using any at all.
- Don't have any Twitter installed or Instagram. No syncing games.
- I don't do calls.
- No Tap to wake.
- shooting photo like a few sec or min.
- Rooted phone with no greenify or purifier.
- ALL apps installed are 57. I counted in my app drawer.
Running STOCK 4.4.3 Kitkat. I dont like Lollipop on my T2 Ultra.
With my that kind of usage I dontt play games at that usage. Maybe just 10 min of playing with 80% volume. I want Z2 so much and I think its battery life is just same or.better compared to Z3. Based on tests of Sony, Futuremark and GSMarena. Except for Phonearena.

Maybe Z2 could get those results, or nearly, I got 8 hours using WiFi, was using 3G only, a few minutes LTE, then everything it's almost the same as your configuration, except sync, that I have activated, but just Google contacts, Whatsapp, and Firefox... Then like I said before, I use Greenify, Xposed (for use boost option on Greenify), everything is hibernated except Whatsapp and system apps, full debloated brightness auto on, set it minimum in auto, Z2 has more mAH than Z3

Well with this settings I usually got this SOT. Well today I got from 95% to 94% in battery within 8 minutes so 1% = 8min of SOT while google chrome browsing with wifi ONLY no other activities just browsing. No Youtube yet. With youtube only I got 89% to 88% in 5:30-6 minutes. @ 360p and 70% volume I think with 12/15 volume. Well with my cousins Z3, I got 1% = 8-9 minutes in Web Browsing and 5:30-6minutes in Youtube like my T2. With same settings Z3 was able to achieve what my T2 can. I wonder how Z2 will fare? I dont know if my test are going to be consistent but in what I test earlier that was the result.

I think Xperia Z2 can do the same whike.browsing? Compared to my old lost Z1 which even witbout wifi It drains drastically. Even with reflashed firmware. I saw someone said that he drains 1% in 8-9minutes from his Z2 with his screen on.
Would you say that the Sony Xperia X Compact is "fast" in day-to-day use? A higher rating indicates that you think the Sony Xperia X Compact exhibits fantastic performance. Like, is it as fast as your tears when you watch The Titanic?
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
X Compact has really surprised me with its responsiveness. I was expecting a slower phone due to its slower processor but I have been blown away with its responsiveness which surpassed my higher end phone. It must be a combination of its less demanding screen processing with a smaller screen and its updated android version on 7.1.1
I am blown away too. A 7.1.1 update made this a true beast. Coming from Moto Z all I can say I am impressed.
I'd say that overall speed is okay. I'm not blown away by the 30MB/s hardware R/W limitation of the SD card controller. I and a few others with this device have cards that reach well in excess of those speeds (see photo - yes, it's on Windows but tested 3x with different .iso images; on separate media, and never read/written to either device before), and having external storage is certainly a must have in this day and age. I won't really blame the controller speed, it's just an ongoing problem with Android -- where to fix its speed and efficiency (perpetual bloat), you just throw faster hardware at it without really fixing anything (optimization).
What really gets me is that Battery Care turns "on" when I tell it to, but it causes more performance issues than it saves battery. It appears to use the same amount of battery whether it's enabled or disabled whether low/moderate/high - so it's detrimental to performance with no real gain in battery (a day's charge is a day's charge). Sony did a pretty good job of optimizing the stock ROM for performance/battery without the middle management (using International/Chinese).
Hi.
Would the Xperia X be faster than the Xperia Z5?
As when I ran a benchmark on my Z5, it had thermal throttling so the score went down to approx. 70,000.
So then I put it on a ice block and I got a score of 103,000 on antutu. (The CPU and GPU scores went down when it was thermal throttling, and the others had stayed the same)
So, that had me wondering if a Xperia X that was not thermal throttling would be faster than my Xperia Z5 that was thermal throttling.
What do you think? Should I keep the hot Z5 or get a cool Xperia X?
Many thanks

The difference between them is pretty small, but SD810 is a flagship SoC, while SD650 is a midrange one. On the other hand, X is supported by SODP, and with the release of k4.9 it'll be even faster than before. So, you can choose Z5 if you don't care about custom ROMs and such OR you can take X and be happy with a slightly slower SoC but much more potential.

from the angle of hardware z5 is always better !
Hi, if you can enjoy putting this on your phone you Will be glad to have freely more autonomy on your phone, also, less heat that you will see in the same moment that you apply it, and, what is better, you will be able to have a lot more battery Avoiding being dependent of the charging and you can use your very well "heat efficient" phone with their polymer case which made a "sandwich" having it the cpu backed every time that a girl text you on tinder or stuff or, you put on a game to play.
What it does :
- Tweaks the Cpu to have less heat as well as more performance, enables You to choose what's better for you, in four options.
WHY I need this:
Apple have their iphone with 6 cores instead of 8. Their cores are: "two cortex X2 rebranded" and four low energy cores. And, they use only one program (iOS) and above them they run "complements" of the program, called "apps". Based on this, you can have FOUR different browsers on your iOS device that are essentially the same (WebKit) with a skin and some functionality. Avoiding you to have options. Likely better than that. So, you don't need power. Because you are not using it. Since everything runs fast because it's pre-loaded with this iOS, android developers paid by companies put a lot of cpu and Gpu power on your android phone to OVERPOWER that iOS devices. And that, comes at cost of battery.
So, in order to have the same functionality as before, and the same power level of apple, when you cut down the power of s processor you will have the same app opening/closing speed of apps as well as functions but, with a lot of more battery. Maybe you see one of tho "stutters" but that aren't granted, and you will have less heat also.
So, this module created by @yc9959 works very well letting you choose from four options to fine tweak your cpu. Install should be through magisk.
【Preset Performance Mode】

The T800 travels from the FUTURE to bring YOU the POWER AND BATTERY of a Galaxy S10+ to your beloved S7, while fighting obsolescence...
Version III features:
° 14 hours of battery life sustained with OneUI 5.1 (STOCK kernel)
+ 14 hours of SOT
° About twice or more the speed with no Lag por shutter
° Vídeo about how to apply UV properly and recommended ROM and kernel and many extras (Such as GPU Turbo and FPS screen uncap) ( In s23U don't needed! All of that in only 14 hours! And for free!!
This revolutionary CREATION of mine will give you the SAME (not shame) optimization as Apple do with it's phones (Tremendous battery life and smoothness) But with two or three times the amount of ram, better screens twice the cores, battery ,etc. So:
HERE IS THE AWESOME SPEED YOU CAN SPECT Before/After:
AND HERE IS A BENCHMARK WHERE YOU CAN SEE TEMPERATURES OF 20 OR MORE DEGREES LESS THAN STOCK ROM, WHILE SAVING BATTERY Classic s7 results.
"65% of charge in 30 minutes full charge achieved in less than a hour..." With Aosp only
Q: Why does the manufactures do this bad on stock on purpose?
Two things, MARKETING and PROGRAMMED OBSOLESCENCE which lead them to even put 10 core when a Apple device with two high power cores (Iphone 7 plus) eats it (Mediatek 10 core setup)
Q: What kind of results will i experiment?
With LATEST LINEAGE 16 + Morokernel + this AWESOME PROFILE and with a non-degraded battery you will experience the performance of a Samsung Galaxy S10 with the battery life (and also charging speed, if you have a QC 3.0 charger... of the Latest huawei/honor phones (8 hours SOT, 65% in 30 min) feeling the ui completely lag free, the apps opens right at the moment, and scrolling is like butter. Also runs very very well like a SD 855
IN S23U and, from that, ALL S23 LINE YOU CAN SPECT MUCH BETTER RESULTS!
So i upload you the profile, you will need the following: *Updated S23*
1: Root and follow the guide as close as the video on S7, disable two cores (7/8) and put the freqs as close as the video, you can even CUSTOMIZE it If you want. B throut the best results, following the Guide. You can use Mtweaks or Kernel auditor.
And If you want throw some benchmarks for cpu/gpu temp and SOT feel free to TEST.
Morokernel installed

Hi! touching my phone and having common sense let me know that the Exynos GPU and the low power cores/high power cores have a little nonsense regarding to STOCK thermal and CPU/GPU freq/usage, so, i change between low power cores to high power cores at 50% it's minimum frequences and let the system to use ONLY the high power cores, heavy underclocked, since our phone have thermal copper plate to avoid high temperatures there should be no problem.
But the MORE INTERESTING part of it, it's that this Exynos allows to underclock a LOT among other things, except the GPU which doesn't go really well with underclocking so, when i do this mod, i was able to boost the overall system performance (daily use) like our S7 Exynos is like two or three generations after it regarding to performance! While turning on only hardcore CPU's and not the EIGHT OF THEM the phone not only runs wayyy better, but also runs VERY stable and cold, even better than stock.
Regarding battery life, the overall pack which you only have to import through "Morotweaks" you not only have a lot more benefits regarding low power consumption, but, when you use the powerfull cores ONLY at higher frequency, the Exynos is able to deep sleep more often than before... Regarding additional benefits into the battery life/heat area.
This looks amazing, but where are the download links? Also, will I void my warranty if I use this kernel?
Uhm this look sus
does anyone know how to install? I don't quite understand how to do it
