Hi guys,
I am looking at getting a new phone and I narrowed it down to those 2 phones: "Motorola Moto G4 Plus or Motorola Moto G5" The reason why I was looking at the Moto G4 Plus and not Moto G5 Plus is because I can get Moto G4 Plus cheaper than the newer model.
My reasearch shows that that the Moto G4 Plus has better spec in most areas (gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=8050&idPhone2=8454&idPhone3=8687) but my main concern is that the battery is not removeable and Android 8 won't be supported on Moto G4 Plus.
I have also considered the LG K8 as well but I hear that they have issues with boot loop. I also looked at the Huawei Y7 but I see that that phone won't get Android 8 as well.
Is there any reasons not to get the Moto G4 Plus in general?

There's no reason not to buy the G4 plus in general. It's a very good phone for a cheap price and I would buy it again. If you're not sure, there's already a thread to search and ask if you're not sure https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846277

I have tossed between buying verizon Moto z or x pure. Saying price is not an issue. I will use it in T-Mobile. Many said x pure is a better phone than z? Is it true?
I don't use verizon, does z have all GSM bands? can I do firmware update using computer when verizon has new firmware come up?
Any comments are welcome.
The verizon Moto Z does not have all GSM bands. If using it on Tmobile, I would say get the Moto X Pure, despite having 'lesser' specs than the Z. Band 12 is important for Tmobile, and the Verizon Moto Z does not have band 12 support.

The Z is a much better phone. The AMOLED screen on the Z looks better and works better with Moto Display. The battery life on both phones is crappy but at least with the Z you have the option to use a battery mod. Really, the only advantages the X has are the headphone jack and front facing speakers. The Z has a fingerprint sensor, Mods, and will likely get the next major Android version.
There is no reason to buy the Verizon version (Droid model) to use on T-Mobile when there is an unlocked version readily available. The unlocked version has all the frequencies you need.

Hi ccheung,
The Moto Z is a better mobile than Moto X Pure. Moto Z has a better processor, more RAM, a good camera, a better display, and so on.
The Moto X Pure is still an excellent mobile, and will likely be a lot cheaper now that the Moto Z is on the scene. If you can afford it, however, you’re most likely going to want to go for the Moto Z.

The better choice is obviously the newer phone, especially in its unlocked form.
But if flashing custom firmware is your thing, the Moto X is actually the better bet as there's an active dev community for it. The Moto Z's dev community is still rather quiet.

its a long history, people are talking and saying that LG itself say to a user they dont will update G4 and V10 because Nougat runs unstable on SD808, but then i remember LG Nexus 5X and they have the same SoC than us, and i think the online support lie to the user in question and now that user are in "emergency mode" and post it in every thread they see and make panic between V10 and G4 users.
I belive we will get it, and of course if you have the Korean model you should get the update firt than us of international model or USA models. Korea make them firt for theyr country and after to worldwide!
Dont get too excited because i think until G6 dont get in the stores we dont get the updates, let the G6 have 1 week on the shelfs trying to sell and after that i think we get the update!
Relax...LG always do things like this, i remember in december 2015 with my G3 lose hopes if they get Marshmallow and then they release them to G3, G4 get it first by the time, software info on high end LG phones is always V10x, V20x and v30x - x is one letter of the software, so, G3 get Marshmallow, G Flex2 get it too last year when i have it...and remember G Flex2 is the dark member of the LG phones because the overheating SD810 and anyway they get the update to MM.

So from what I can see amazon was able to achieve what almost no smart phone company had done that is to avoid root to their teams, it is unfortunate what is happening with the moto g4 / plus teams that today have just given the bad news that they will not upgrade to 8. And if this is added to not be able to unlock the booloader and can imagine the disappointment that I have bought this equipment.
G4 / G4 plus aren't candidates for upgrade to Android O. It's a shame, same thing happend with Moto G3 and Nougat.

Hi. I have lg g6 now for 2 weeks. Before i have huawei P10. P10 its good but Lg g6 its mutch better display(18:9), waterproof and better battery life. Wide angle its super.
No led notification but it have AOD.

I came from the G4, which refused to turn on after a software update, and all of my attempts to fix it failed. Getting this phone was cheaper (with a contract) than getting my G4 repaired. I also had to use my S3 for some time before I decided to purchase my G6.
I came from P10. In my opinion G6 is better.

Coming from Xperia Z3 Compact, I decided to try something bigger than 4,6 inch and G6 is very cheap in Poland nowadays. It was definitely worth it!
