hello, so I'm looking to buy redmi note 4 snapdragon 625 for eu market but still not sure about the amount of RAM, I'm not into any kind of social media, no fb,snapchat etc. so this apps won't work in background 24/7 like on other phones, I'm gonna use it mostly for browser, some reddit, news apps, google maps, youtube, and other utility apps like office suit for pdf, some basic logic games maybe some rts if I find any but none of this shooters or racing games such as asphalt the other thing is android I think about 7.0 and MIUI 8 but not sure about that because I didn't do any reserch about that yet, so which one you recommend 3/32 or 4/64?

noting different between 3gb/4gb work like champ ....
Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using Tapatalk
Well, if you have extra bucks for 4/64, just go for it, why not, right?
I used 3/32 version, just for social media, browsing, streaming (youtube/twitch), some games (not heavy games though), its served me very well.
Wait for xiaomi redmi note 5.
If you eager to use note 4x, choose 4gb/64gb
If you want to save money choose 3g/32gb
Stay away from 2gb/16gb and 3g/16gb
4gb/64gb ?

theoretically I could buy 4/64 but in reality it's 50$ difference and with 0 social media working in the background, without all these notifications and stuff it's just not efficient to go for 4/64 in my opinion, that one gb of ram will just sit there doing nothing since snapdragon 625 won't utilize it, my concern is more around how will it perform on android 7.0 and MIUI 9 and after all I have 50$ more for a student that's a lot, especially from my country, for that 50$ I could buy a nice case like for 7 dollars and some decent headphones and maybe I would still have some money left, I'm gonna use this phone for at least 4 years tho and with time that one gigabyte might find some usage, I'm completely lost tbh

Yeah i'm a collage student too
My first phone is redmj note 3 pro with 2gb ram, i bought it with 150 USD 1 years ago.
I thought it would be great for social app, but it keep loading app and hanging. I try custom rom and AOSP rom but no luck and that time, i regret if i bought 3gb ram it could be different.
And lucky for me, 1 weeks ago, i accidentally saw redmi note 4x with 4gb ram just only 175 USD ( it's old modern with 11 months warranty left ) i buy it and very happy.
So i sale note 3 pro with 80 Usd.
If you not have enough money just go for 3gb ram, but if you want to use in long term, consider to choose 4gb ram ( just my opinion and experience)
There is no difference of 3gb and 4gb....
Its more 32/64gb

Well, I am fully understand that. But since you intended for long term uses, go for 4/64. That's just my suggestion though.
Right now, 3 gigs ram its very enough. But 2-3 years later who knows?
3GB ram still perform amazingly, especially just for normal daily uses. Don't you worry about it, not kind of big different.

Yeah, everyone just go big or go home right?
But, don't listen to the others tho, if you think 4/64 not worth it and over killed for your daily uses, buy 3/32 version. Don't worry about performances, its the same with 4/64, except for heavy games. Cheers.

Hello everyone,
Sorry for pretty dumb question, but i hope you could give me advice! I'll explain my situation a bit, i currently own 10" Chinese Onda tablet, performance is pretty awful, battery life also (~1 hr of reading/browsing can drain 40%), i use it mainly for browsing and reading because gaming is impossible (from one side it is good, because i can spend more time with my family ) ) i never take it out, mainly because of battery life..
So from one side i can live with it with my needs like reading, books and browsing, from the other side it lag's like hell, crashes and battery, well as i said...
So i tried to look for some more descent alternative (one of it could be eReader, but then i still would need another device for lazy browsing or some apps, so i'am more on the tablet side). So i checked what is on the market today and i could get Nexus 9 16 GB for about 300 EUR on Amazon. And as BlackFriday is landing i'am hoping for some discounts, so i'am wandering, should i grab Nexus 9 if it would be available for let's say 250 EUR? What concerns' me is how future proof will it be? Dual-core + 2GB ram seems to be pretty low for today. What i like that it is supported both by Google bot Custom ROM's, so while it is popular device it will have at least some support. But maybe it is too late to buy one today and be patient and wait for future device?
I don't feel like paying more than 300 EUR in any case for tablet, though i could afford it i just don't justify it as proper "investment"
So, that it! Thans for your help and opinion.
UPD: What about new NVIDIA SHIELD K1? What is your opinion, seems like super deal for 200EUR? Maybe except screen size and aspect ratio.
300 Euros is way too expensive for this tablet. Even 250 is too much. If this tablet had a Nexus 5 level of speed and smoothness, it would be worth it. Unfortunately, on stock, it doesn't. As they haven't sorted it out properly in a year now, I don't think they ever will. :crying:
In the UK at the moment, Argos are selling the 16GB version for £150. This is a more reasonable price.
If you are on a budget, I'd also consider the LG V500. Its still on 4.4.2, but the performance is great and it has an SD Card slot. If you know where to look, you can pick one up for £100/145 Euro. the V510 from the US is even better. :victory:

Hi, thanks for your input. I can't find any deal at Argos for £150 :/ About LG, i don't like ones that drop support for their devices.
What everyone think about new NVIDIA SHIELD K1? It will have Marshmallow, 3D performance should be awesome, also i should be able to utilize my GTX 970 here, and it cost £150, only downside for me is screen size, but it is just IMHO, i never used such aspect ratio.

Yes I take your point regarding LG. If you could get a V510, its a GPE device making it almost Nexus.
I cant comment on the Nvidia shield. It does seem strange to me however that the original Nexus 7 had memory issues and the Nexus 9 has memory issues. The both used Nvidia SoC as oppose to Snapdragon. Maybe just a coincidence? I've never had any issues with devices using SD SoC.

V510 from US would cost around 200EUR, and GPE seems to be dead already
New shield seems very interesting device... My hands are itching
I like the Nex9.
I bought the 32GB for $305 shipped and got a nice $12 case, so basically $320 total and I am very pleased. I was mainly concerned with battery life as I like to sometimes leave it alone for 3-4 days and want to have a charge.
I am on Pure Nexus ROM, but even on stock mra58n build I was able to leave it overnight and only lose 3-4% battery. So I can leave it around for say 5 days and still have at least 70% battery.
I get around 6 hours SOT so far from my use but I've only had it a short while so I expect it to only get better as it calibrates.
It has its faults, and something better I am sure may be on the way, but you may find a great deal on black Friday and I would jump on it.
When I saw the 40% off from HTC I did and am glad I did.
Best of luck.
I was a frustrated N9 owner until MM. I still can't believe it! The lag has not returned as it always had within a month of each of my six wipes over the past 10 mos. I tried DU and ran Elementalx. Lag remained and reboots (up to 3x daily) continued. Each flash was a complete wipe. Chrome (I use beta) is still a battery hog--probably what causes the heat, but it's my choice to use it. My tab works the way it always should have. I'm running xposed with gravity box. Everything is running well. For the first time, I can recommend this tablet--especially if you can grab the next HTC 40% off deal over Thanksgiving.

Hi guys, fine?
I'm really disappointed with Zenfone 2. Yeah, it's a great phone, with a powerful Atom. But it has some issues that is terrible for me:
- The battery drains like hell (no matter the ROM)
- Custom ROMs aren't stable and there is bugs related to Intel HW decoder
- (same above) There is no much sources available from Intel and Asus, it makes custom ROMs difficult to develop.
- Sleep of Death (sometimes the phone doesn't wake up after deep sleep, and power off by itself after a while)
But there is some good resources developed from community. NetHunter is working on LineageOS, good kernels. But I'm suffering with battery and the SoD (sleep of death). I have a Redmi 2 as backup phone, and i like it. Clean, fast (for a 1GB RAM SD410), and has many custom stable roms.
I'm looking the Redmi Note 3 Pro for a while to be my main phone, and I think when I sell Zenfone 2 I will buy one (or a Zuk Z2, maybe). But I have some doubts about this phone, I want to ask you:
- The Snapdragon 650 has power to bring good performance and no lags? Even in games? (I don't play too much, only Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links and Digimon Heroes. Maybe Bully with X360 controller)
- 3GB is capable to run Android 7.1 and heavy apps?
- I use two SIMs and a microSD card (16GB). Will I have problems to manage it?
- Is the battery good as claimed? What's the SOT and endurance with moderate use?
- I like NetHunter. I have a $10 wifi dongle (J-Link 6100, ralink 3070 chipset) and I use it in Zenfone2. I saw some threads about NH, but nothing official. Is there some developer with interst to prepare a NH kernel? (the Chroot packages are available in NH page)
- Is there the SoD (sleep of death) issue in this phone?
Thanks a lot!
Coming from ZE551ML (z3560 2gb ram variant) here too

~Yes, and also it doesn't heat much compared to my Zenfone 2.
- 3GB is capable to run Android 7.1 and heavy apps?
~Not so sure, but I've had a good experience running 7.1.1 here and I'm using the 2gb/16 kenzo device. And I can also manage to do multitasking like in my Zenfone 2.
- I use two SIMs and a microSD card (16GB). Will I have problems to manage it?
~Redmi Note 3 uses hybrid sim. Use 2nd sim w/o SD or use SD without 2nd sim.
- Is the battery good as claimed? What's the SOT and endurance with moderate use?
~Yes! Definitely worth the switch! I'm barely getting ~3hrs SoT in my Zenfone 2 and I can easily get ~10hrs SoT in my Redmi Note 3 when I'm watching 1080p HEVC videos.
~No answer. haha
- Is there the SoD (sleep of death) issue in this phone?
~I'm not experiencing any in my ZF2 (running jrior's cm14.1) and also not any SoD issue here in my Redmi Note 3
I came from the ZF2 Deluxe SE and the only thing I have an issue with is the fact that this thing is a pain in the balls to unlock. You request an unlock does, they send it to you within 1 week or two, then you try to unlock and get constant errors later to find out that Xiaomi has to have your device info and MIUI info current on their server before it will work.
I gave up 128GB internal storage and 4GB of RAM for 32GB internal and 3GB of RAM in the switch but I'm getting a solid 1.5 to 2 days on the battery compared to my ZF2's half day at best. I use a 256GB Micro SD so I don't have storage issues. Just waiting to unlock, root and get rid of some junk. Oh and the video camera's slow motion mode is incredible on the RN3

Well you gotta be little open minded about that unlocking...i too agree that is stupid that they are locking bootloaders if it can be easily unlocked anyway...official or unofficial.
But I suggest you to go with official, because its the easiest one...and no issues later on.
Request for unlock with your Mi account (same as logged on phone), check whether Mi account is showing correct version you have installed atm... Then if you dont get approved you can open a thread on mi forum so they will manually unlock it...
I requested for unlock, waited a day...no sms confirmation...then I tried logging in MiUnlock and it did go through...and I never received sms...
So its not as painful as you guys think...you just have to open a thread if you have waited more then a week like you are saying
Hi everyone!
I am new on the forums and I hope I got the right forum to ask this question
I have a chance to purchase Leeco Le Max 2 X820 for 180 euros. This phone is 1 month old and sold by someone over the internet. So not buying it from the shop.
These are the quick specs but I am sure you already know them:
5.7 inch 2560*1440 Pixel 2K screen
CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, quad core, 2.15GHz, 64bit, GPU Adreno 530
4GB LPDDR4 RAM + 32GB ROM UFS 2.0
Metal unibody,3100 mAh battery with fast charge
What I need the phone for?
I need the phone to run my websites, use WordPress, google analytics, google webmasters and bunch of other browser-based apps. I also need it to use bunch of online storages such as google drive, onelive and dropbox.
Besides this, I need it to run excel and word and to access like 10 email accounts.
On top of all that I need to run bunch of social media apps and to use multi logins with them. Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook etc.
This is to be a work phone for me to run my social media and website presence because I am not always on my laptop.
Until now I was using my poor 5 years old Huawei G620s and he barely survives 20% of what I need from him but he scores 12000 on antutu so thats understandable. This LeEco can score up to 140K on antutu which makes him more than 10x stronger.
Will I be able to use this LeEco phone without any lag while jumping between emails, google chrome and social media apps?
I have no intention of playing games with it, even thou I would love to but no time for that sadly.
Also did you ever experience a problem with this phone in terms of any part of it dying? I will not get any warranty so I was wondering if the phone is easy to die.
Thank you in advance!
That guy sell because the phone got problem. If you are ok with non-working fingerprint and also glitchy screen, go ahead and buy it.

It sounds like you need a lot of battery. The 2K Screen will drain your battery but it's not too bad. If you really need that battery you would be able to get out more with le pro 3 elite. The elite version has also the same chipset but it has only 1080p screen and 4000 mAh battery. But still the le max 2 is really good for it's value but sometimes people get some defect fingerprint sensors or screen glitches (I was lucky to get neither of those issues) and I'm not sure if it's the same case with le pro 3. And don't buy it from another person, you would most likely need that warranty.
In the end I bought xiaomi note 4 which is a bit weaker than this leeco but I bought it with less money in the store and I got warranty so that's a big plus.
So far works amazing. Thank you for your help though
I faced only finger print problem.
and for your daily work, I recommend you to buy it.
it is super fast with SD 820

Definitely check the fingerprint sensor. It's a chronic and established problem with this phone.
Also, don't forget to check the IMEI blacklist! FOR BOTH SIMS!

I wouldn't oversell the warranty - but he's not wrong about the price. Might as well get it new if you're going to buy it.
I know from banggood I bought mine several months ago at $270 Canadian Pesos, so I mean, Euros probably stack up pretty well against its current price.
I bought mine for ~300 euros . I use 6GB ram / 64GB storage version and here is the list of things i know that tend to glich ( at least for me):
- fingerprint sensor is dead. period. It worked well and REALLY FAST for like 4-5 months, after that, nothing.
- screen gliches out sometimes, like half of wallpaper is out of screen area, no idea why, some apps have same problem. It looks like bottom right corner of the app is moved to the middle of the screen and rest moves somewhere outside.
- app sync. some apps like what's app sync with no problem, you got message? instant beep. other apps like meesenger sometimes does not. you have to go to app, and do manual refresh.
- Battery life - sometimes it's so good phone lasts 3 days and sometimes, process like "system service" that runs most of things in your phone, (gps, messages etc.) gliches out and drains your entire battery dry in 5 hours ( not mentioning phone temperature hits 43 degree) even when iddle in your pocket, with no apps in background.
- battery life again, sometimes phone charges max to 95%, sometimes to 98% and sometimes to 100% no idea why again.
most of the issues above, is caused but stock rom, so if you don't change it, all of these above will happen to you.
Overall, this phone is amazing for doing all you need and more but the issues above just kill the fun of using it so don't bother geting into this mess, really, not worth it.
You're busy and don't have time to wait, which is why you need to stop reading this thread and get back to organizing your Pogs. Rate this thread to express how the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 performs when multitasking. A higher rating indicates that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 keeps many apps in memory so that they don't need to reload, and that when moving between apps, transitions are smooth and performance is excellent.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Multitasking 6GB RAM Model
I generally don't let things get out of hand, but I've had no problem running lots of apps on the phone and in DeX mode to a 4K TV with a USB mouse and keyboard, and still running nicely.
If anyone find 6 vs 8gb note comparison video, please share. I'd like to see is there any improvement in keeping apps in background on 8gb model.

Compared to other devices I've used, the 8gb Note 9 I'm using is a world of difference. It seems like Samsung nailed it with the way this phone handles having a ton of apps running at the same time. It smoothly transitions between whatever apps I want to use with seemingly no impact to performance

That was only with literally everything on my phone closed so I can't imagine that we'll ever fully see over 6gb available with minimal or no apps but background stuff running. Es file explorer to copy files from my ntfs hard drive

6 is plenty. I have the 6gig and only keep 3-4 open. It works great. I wanted the 8gig but after looking at a bunch of reviews I couldn't justify getting the 8gig for my type of usage. I don't play any games. Jist YouTube. Text. Browser. Music and a bit of social.

I switched from the s7e exynos to the note 9 exynos. I can tell you from my experience that it's smoother, faster, better to hold in hands without a case, better camera, better audio from speakers/headphones, a lot better battery life and so on + the new one UI shapes to be great too (android P). The difference is there and the phone better + I have the 6GB variant and this + software optimisations leads to quite good RAM management, it's vastly better than the s7e - will recommend you to get the 6GB version if you don't need the 512GB onboard storage (you can put fast sd card for videos/photos on the 128GB model if needed).

Thx man and about storage i dont have an issue as my s7 already have so much space left i think 128gb will be enough also i am just stopping myself from buying it right now cos in india 5g will come in 2019 and note 9 dont have it so i will be paying a huge price for a phone that dont support it ( s10 may support 5g)

Agree, 128GB is plenty. If you can wait, do so for the s10 is my advice (or 2019 phones in general). Otherwise you will not be dissapointed from the note 9.

WIll buy something in april nxy yr lets see what comes next
EDIT: I managed to find a used one for half that price, so I jumped at it!
Hi!
I found a local dealer who still has a few brand new Mi Pad 1 in stock for about $250.
Is that a good price, and is it worth getting 2019?
If I buy one it will be mainly for gaming (emulators to be more specific). I wanted to pick up a Nvidia Shield K1, but they seem rather expensive for a pre owned one, and a Xiaomi Mi Pad is internally pretty much the same thing, right?
I dont think it is a good choice in 2019 and that too for 250 dollar is too much i bought it 3 yrs back (brand new) for 10000 inr that's arround 140.45 dollars. I would say rather go look for mi pad 4 or any new ipads. As far as gamming goes nah drivers are not too much optimised hence poor performance like you will get 20-25 fps in pubg with everything set to lowest with gfx tool and custom rom (nvidia shield blobs which in my opinion is the fastest available for this thing)
I paid $80 for mine pre owned, wouldn't much more than that even for a 64gb model.
$250??? Oh my God,Profiteer!!!
Go for Mi Pad 4. Treble support, SD 660 and stable Pie for $250
In general it would definitely be a bad idea but if you just want to play low power emulators like NES and all then you could go for it. But don't expect good performance from emulators like dolphin and PPSSPP. also, I would recommend you install a shield blobs based rom as soon as you get your device.
