Hello
I installed MK71.2-le_x2-201710060929-NIGHTLY rom to my Le Max 2 phone.
Clock is not opening and zoom option is not working on camera. I have 2 bugs but these are not imported for me right now.
I saw a update notification on my phone at Saturday night and I downloaded it. But I can not install this update package (MK71.2-le_x2-201710070930-NIGHTLY.zip - 647MB)
I saw second update information next day. But I can not install second update package again (MK71.2-le_x2-201710081057-NIGHTLY.zip - 647MB)
Phone is restarting and "File Corrupted" error appears.
Should I install whole package (647MB) ?
I want to install only updates and corrections.
How can I do this process?
I tried in Recovery mode or Fastboot mode but I failed. I got always "File Corrupted" error.
Please help me about this problem

Maybe you changed some system files. Anyway just download the rom from official website and try to flash it after wiping the dalvik and cache. Also if that still doesnt then do a clean flash by wiping data, system and cache. This should solve your problem

Dont wipe internal storage, clean install means wipe everything except storage and usb option. Yes you will lose your apps, but all the other files like pics, videos and music will stay. If that is also a problem for you then download es file manager, open it you will see apps option. Click on apps then select all your apps and then you will see a backup option, choose the backup option. All of your apps' apk files will be created in your storage which will be inside the folder named backups. So free your mind and do it. Its better to lose some data rather than having a problematic device. Best of luck, i wish clean install solves your previous problems with mokee

Thans man but there has to mre easier way to do this. This is very hard for every update.
Is update process in Release Rom version works with same way?
I am looking for update process like normal phones. Click on update and system will do for me
I saw OTA update file for same update file but is was 20MB.
What is OTA update? Is this easier update file what I am looking for?
Thanks

Ota updates are about just installing the changes, not the whole rom again. Usually, custom roms are updated through a dirty flash where you don't wipe data. But if you start getting stuff corrupted or not working properly, a clean flash in recommended. It should be just this time when you need to use titanium backup. I think you can make a zip with all the apps and just flash it. Tho always have a backup of your rom

Should I copy to the root and flash from TWRP this file.

Yeah you're right. You were also talking about some 600+ MB zip files. You can download them from their site and install through twrp. Anytime you install something it's recommended that you wipe Cache and Dalvik cache. You won't lose anything if you wipe just this. Just remember to make a backup

Hello,
I am a proud owner of the Resurrection Remix ROM but it keeps displaying that there is an update ready to download and install.
So i clicked "Download new Rom Version".
Now i am not sure where the new Rom is located and more important wether or not it is going to delete all my old user data and settings when I install the Update.
Can you give me a quick "How to"?
Thanks in advance!
Kevin
Its located on root of internal sdcard (/mnt/sdcard), and if you are updating from older version of rr, it will not erase anything. It basically downloads rom, reboots to recovery and lets you install new rom. Its then up to you to wipe if you want.
But it asks me what kernel i want to install, what music player and other things like this? Are you sure that my data will be safe?

Yes your data is safe. Only way of wiping your data is by doing a factory reset (deletes All settings and apps ) or erasing sd which deletes all photos music everything

Updating SGS2
Hey am a noob and am wondering how I update my SGS2, I currently run RR V3.1.0 and would like to update to 3.1.2, when I go through the ROM updater on my phone it says file is downloaded and would you like to recover to boot, but there is only a 404.php file downloaded and it doesn't update.
I am currently downloading RR V3.1.2 (395MB) off my pc and am wondering if its possible to update my phone using that download? But I need my data to remain on my device
thanks in advance

Hello,
I'm running ViperRez for about a week now and haven't had a problem. Tonight, I attended a concert and switched to the extended battery so it would survive the night and noticed on the drive home that when I attempt to open my settings and get an "Application is not Installed" message when I attempt to do so. I've tried google for help to no avail and am out of ideas so anything you guys can think of would be super appreciated.
Thanks!
If someone could dig out the settings.apk from that ROM then you could try to install it.

Try dirty flashing the Rom. Or using a root browser navigate to your Rom zip and go to /system/apps and find the settings apk. Extract the APK and try installing.

a dirty flash is when you flash without wiping. by dirty flashing viper youll install everything OVER everything else instead of fresh. and the part your wanting is the settengs.apk to be reinstalled.. you might have accidentally bloated it out, with some kind of uninstaller. or put graywolfs apk on your sd and use a file explorer to find it and install?

You flash the stock recovery using fastboot.
Fastboot flash recovery /location/of/stock_recovery.img
This isn't necessary unless you want stock recovery flashed or to be able to take future official OTAs directly from Google/asus
The system and boot are in twrpon backup format. Make a small backup on your watch of the cache partition, just so the twrp backuo folder gets created (which is unique to your device). Then adb push the folder you downloaded from this thread (with the build number and date I backed it up, not the parent folder that contains the stock recovery) to /sdcard/TWRP/<your_serial_number>/
Then, on your watch, use to to restore the system and boot. Wipe the cache on your watch and restart. You will not be updated without have to factory reset/wiping data partition.
If you try to flash stock recovery and get error BC your bootloader is locked. You will have to wipe data partition when you unlock bootloader by issuing command
fastboot oem unlock
Please let me know if you have any other questions

Download the files, place them in the TWRP/Backups/(RandomHASH) directory using the directory name he has in his Drive folder, remount System RW (that one threw me off for a few), then run a TWRP restore. You don't have to sideload anything, since TWRP will let you see the watch as a drive (at least under WIN7, haven't tried anything else).

I'm glad you were able to pull this.
I woke up this morning to find my watch sitting in TWRP because it had tried to update. I just flashed this, and so far, so good.
Fair warning to everyone: TWRP will restore the boot in the recovery, even if you tell it not to(TWRP bug?)! If you use a different kernel just reflash it after you restore this backup.
do i just put everything on a folder named 2016-06-22--20-06-49_mwd59 and then just flash via twrp?

You have to make a twrp backup just so a backup folder with your unique hash has been created (just backup cache partition to do this). Then push the 2016-06-22--20-06-49_mwd59 folder into /sdcard/TWRP//
(You'll see a similarly named folder in that directory from the backup you did yourself)
Then use the restore function of twrp to restore the system and boot from the backup folder you got from this thread.
Then wipe your cache partition and you should be good to go!

I can confirm that this steps are working:
Backup anything from TWRP (just to create the folder).
Inside the newly created folder (sdcard/TWRP/BACKUP/XXXXXXXXXXXXX --> XXXXXXX folder is one created by TWRP ) place the folder from Drive (the folder itself, no need to change the name).
Then from TWRP perform a Restore and select the one with the name from Drive.
Also note that I lose root, and dunno how to recover it. With this update UI is way faster and connects to BT and WIFI better too.

I forgot to restore boot, now my battery life is being sucked dry! I'm guessing it's stock recovery, though, even though I unticked that option. Someone in here said it was a bug in TWRP. So I guess I could just fastboot flash twrp, then push the zip and flash it?

Many of you know how to fix this issue.
I created a simple zip to do it faster. The TWRP file manager can be very useful but it's not as confortable as a file manager like MiXplorer, Amaze, Solid...
From now on, instead of going to the TWRP file manager to remove the files one by one, just flash one of these zips and reboot.
- To remove the 5 files > DOWNLOAD LINK
- As suggested, here is another flashable zip to only remove the LOCKSETTINGS files > DOWNLOAD LINK
- Final version, to only remove locksettings.db => DOWNLOAD LINK (recommended)
Here are below the list of files it removes:
Code:
gatekeeper.password.key
gatekeeper.pattern.key
locksettings.db
locksettings.db-shm
locksettings.db-wal
Does this only apply to PIN errors?
I recentrly restored a backup and it didn't recognize my password. I gave up and deleted everything.

The zip only removes the lockscreen protection where you have to enter your PIN/patter/password to reach your homescreen.
It doesn't apply to the boot protection while you are encrypted.

That's a convenient solution for a specific issue, I suggest to read the OP, if you don't have TWRP you cannot be locked out due to restoring a backup by TWRP in first place, it only applies to TWRP users in a certain usage scenario... It's flashed from recovery, root has nothing to do with this...

Hey!
I'm an HTC U11+ user and this doesn't work for me, im facing the same issue either i restock via OTA or TWRP backup, any thing you consider sharing that could help me?
1 thing though, i manually flashed 1.24.401.2 images, while my bootloader shows the actual version to be 1.24.401.12 .
Could this be in anyway be causing my problems?
If I do not set up any boot password/pattern etc but just a swipe on lockscreen then,
after restoring the back up and then flashing the given zips for five files immediately,
Will I be able to set up the PIN/Password/pattern on the restored ROM?

Firstly we need twrp, go and get it from
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767135545
Simply flash it via odin.
Then root it by flash latest magisk from
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
After that you will see that twrp cant mount data. You have to format data (go to wipe - format data - type yes)(It will erase all your data SO BACK-UP) and flash the boot image patcher to prevent device from re-encrypt every boot
This is the working boot image patcher by zackptg5.
Download DM-VERITY AND FORCE ENCRYPTION DISABLER
And you will get file name
Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_09.02.2018.zip
Download link below.

And now simply reboot and enjoy
IF IT HELP YOU GUYS , PLEASE HIT THANKS BUTTON , THIS IS MY FIRST THREAD AND THANKS WILL BE ENCOURAGING TO ME.
Thanks to @ashyx for twrp , @Zackptg5 for Universal DM-Verity, ForceEncrypt, Disk Quota Disablers and @topjohnwu for magisk.

I think you choose completly uninstall magisk through an app and install the latest magisk beta v17.3 step by step in the guide. The ploblem should solved I guess it was a ploblem while you install magisk.
Why it's not like olds? Using one click root or just with TWRP? Maybe we should wait a little bit more. Cause it seems risky to me. Also, need to erase all datas etc.

Fresh install apps, CRIA (same),odin 3.13.1, magisk 17.3 [It is not about odin if you pass flash time and never cause from data app] Or you can try re-flash firmware wipe data and root.

This what i did:
> BACKUP PHONE DATA (INTERNAL STORAGE)
> PLACE ALL NECESSARY ROOT FILE ON SDCARD
> FLASH TWRP twrp_3.0.2-1_sm-a910_a9100_7217.tar WITH ODIN (DISABLE AUTO REBOOT)
> ENTER TWRP
> FORMAT DATA (After TWRP 1st boot, internal storage need to format)
> REBOOT TWRP
- INSTALL Magisk-v17.3.zip
- INSTALL Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_09.02.2018.zip
> REBOOT SYSTEM
> ONCE BOOT, GRANT PERMISSION TO ANY APPLICATION THAT REQUIRED ROOT ACCESS (PREFER TO TEST WITH T.B FIRST)
> IF YOU HAVING NOTIFICATION FROM SECURITY LOG AGENT - DISABLE IT
Everything works fine now
