Xposed Modules for V20 - LG V20 Themes, Apps, and Mods

I know there's a whole thread dedicated to working modules but I wanted to start one for this phone, basically just what works what doesnt, I'm running
AD Blocker Reborn
Amplify
Greenify
Flat Style Keyboard
And Xmessenger
They all work perfect if anybody is running anything else that works feel free to let everybody know
I should say I'm not as well versed in Xposed as some people, I started using it in Kit Kat maybe maybe lollipop not sure but I'll try my best to answer any questions that get asked

Did you get the autotint feature to work with the flat style keyboard?

You gotta use version 3.7.1 beta. It's on Apkmirror.

I can't seem to get amplify working on my phone. Mind telling which rom are you using and what type of root (supersu or magisk)?

There's a magisk module called greenify4magisk and it allows it to run in Xposed mode I'm on break at work or id link it for you and also a few posts above said use 3.7.1 I would try that it will probably work better
Edit: I just installed 3.7.1 and it detects Xposed and works great

Released officially for Nougat a few days ago, I'm on WETA Rom and everything is pretty smooth, I made this thread so people can post what works and what doesn't specifically for this phone, there is an ongoing thread for all working modules on nougat but that includes AOSP ROMs and not all of us are running AOSP, also haven't run into any major issues boot times are a little bit longer but I haven't noticed a decrease in battery life or performance

Guys, do you xposed might work on Tilde's ROM?

If it's a stock based Rom I can't see why it wouldn't work, same goes for an AOSP Rom, as always make a Nandroid backup in TWRP before flashing just in case it doesn't work

I went to WETA for customization and the aroma installer had a bunch of stuff I could choose from, rooting in general it's just something I've been doing since my first Android phone, I'm amazed at what I can do with basically complete control, as I say to my friends that don't know what root is, if I want to do something I more than likely can, music didn't sound good enough to me so I installed viper4android music sounds amazing and I couldn't go back to stock, I wanted my battery to last longer so I installed greenify to force doze when I turn my screen off so I can get iPhone levels of standby drain, also it's just something fun to do there's always new stuff going on, Xposed just got released officially a few days ago and I honestly can't wait to see what comes of it.

yeah I would love to be able to force DOZE and also use Greenify to help preserve battery.. but nervous what features i'd lose going away from stock... does everything still function? or did you loose things like 2nd screen, or camera quality etc ?

Yeah i had started with the VS995 Verizon variant when I first went to the V20.. but after we switched to MetroPCS (via TMobile service).. I noticed that without all of the GSM bands.. my connection was HORRIBLE.. plus I did not have the WIFI calling / SMS features... so I switched to the H918 variant... SO Glad I did.. love the knowledge I could unlock my bootloader.. and it seems to have some of the default features that Verizon had locked out... IE FM Radio.. etc..
right now i'm on the 10q software.. so not sure if i'm locked out of anything or if thats still able to root / unlock and flash safely.

Well never mind it will happen eventually. I'm surprised they've made such progress already. Can't wait for a 64bit 5.0 tw xposed . (well maybe by then we'll need a 5.1.1 xposed )
Still early day for the s6. But I've just see a post in T-Mobile forum about an almost booting aosp build (off topic I know, but still exciting)
I'm not not sure if the anticipation of updates are just as good as receiving updates lol

Exact same config, but I haven't rooted yet. I'd like to see wanam compatible soon.
What motivated you to root so fast. As in, why did you need it for. I'd been holding out to see if a better root method was developed to avoid tripping Knox and messing up Samsung pay.
So far all I've missed is not being able to backup my old app data with titanium.

Best Daily ROM?

I have been around for a while and I have had a G3 before but I just picked one up again and I am using it as my daily. Now, I have tried a few ROMs, such as JasmineROM and CM12.1 snapshot and I have been having some issues.
I really cannot STAND how stock LG software looks. It is atrocious to me. That being said, I really am trying to avoid a stock-based ROM if that is at all possible. Now, with CM12, I haven't had too many problems. The phone does get pretty sluggish sometimes (taking 1-2 seconds to open apps and such), the camera takes FOREVER to open, take a pic and switch between the front and rear camera. And possible the MOST annoying is when I have been on WiFi for a decent amount of time, my data will not work unless I go screw with my network settings and change it back and forth from Global to LTE.
My question for everyone: What is the best ROM you have used? Something with a high pixel density would be nice as stock just has everything so big and ugly. Battery life is nice and I really need decent camera and data performance. Any suggestions? Thanks everyone!
I've been using xdabbebs 2.0, and I know you said you didn't like stock ones. But it's been the best for me since it came out. Battery and performance have been amazing. Also xdabbebs xcam is the stock of camera but he's tweaked it and it's so much better. I've never had good luck on aosp roms for the g3. I hope this helps

I was going to say the same thing as @jurington. Although I'm on @xdabbeb 's completely stock (besides my own debloat) 46A Marshmallow, his VS985 v2.0 is overall the best in my opinion.

Thanks guys. I decided to give it a try and the only thing I don't like is how the navbar is white most of the time. But, I went ahead and installed Xposed to get around it. I can get used to this. Thanks guys. As far as 6.0, how is that rom?

Glad you like it. I highly recommend some of the few "tweak" commands he mentions in the OP, too.
I always changed the navbar color in the stock settings. Settings / Display / Home touch buttons. I like dark, too.
6.0 is pretty nice, even more fluid than 5.1.1 in my opinion. There is some details it appears LG/Verizon didn't consider with the handling of USB OTG. Some have had the same trouble with the regular MicroSD access, but at least with X-plore File Manager that I use, the MicroSD hasn't been a problem. For USB OTG I have to navigate to root / mnt (I think) / then the serial number of the USB OTG device. I can and have marked it as a "Favorite" in the file manager so I can go right to it, but it's sloppy and doesn't report how much space is used or available when I access it this way.
It had been a while since I bothered with Greenify - I've largely been keeping things simple on the G3, but I use Greenify's aggressive doze feature and I do believe it makes a difference. No numbers to share, though. I've been playing with my phone a lot more since Marshmallow came out, doing back ups, experimenting, testing things etc so I can't really report numbers on battery life.

Seriously? I don't even need that module then lol. I rarely use OTG but I haven't had issues with my SD card so that's good. I have been playing around a lot lately too so battery life is up in the air.
the 3minit battery mod doesnt work at all tho, when I flash it I get (SystemUI has stopped working), no matter what even with a clean install.

Definitely no problem with the MicroSD card or USB OTG on @xdabbeb 's VS985 v2.0 since it's based on 35B / 5.1.1.

At least a couple of us had problems with the 3Minit Battery Mod that a user (sorry I forget your handle if you're reading this) made for 35B.
For me, it worked perfectly fine until restoring a TWRP backup that was made after it was installed, then FCs like you describe.
Dirty flashing the ROM etc would fix the ROM and it might've been possible to get the mod working again doing that and then re-flashing the mod, but it just wasn't worth it to me even though I have one animated battery icons on there, and I used to make the mod for a different phone.

btw I wouldn't recommend it, I was trying it and it's preatty buggy and outdated. It doesn't have fm radio and it's using only bottom microphone for video recording (stock 6.0 uses both mics so there is stereo effect). It also doesn't support any new custom kernels because it wasn't updated for ages. The worst thing is that it slows down a lot after few days and you need to reboot. On stock 6.0 with squid kernel the performance drop wasn't that big, I was using it for 30 days without reboot and it was still pretty good.

I don't have any of those problems, except for msybe fm radio but I don't give a crap about that. But, I can flash squid kernel & I don't get performance drops often. So it's literally bug free for me. Maybe you should try flashing it again. After all, bad flashes happen.

My apologies you guys for not getting back earlier. I've been fumigating for bugs.
Those issues you were describing are the exact issues I'm dealing with today on my current ROM a popular CM based true to form option-heavy, stability-light ROM. This is a shame as its been fairly reliable platform for me. The occasional issue that was easily remedied with a reboot, a restore or a reflash. The past few months have been bug after bug for me. Mostly a pesky incompatibility issue with my ROM and OpenGapps.
Its seems all I've been doing lately is testing alternative gapp pkg sources, kernels and mods.
What makes this issue the real tops though is that the ROM I use was just listed as "Official" and "Stable" last month. There may be a weekly update waiting in the basket for me but the basket build server is down.
So....?
Not sure where to go from here. I'll tell you this much though. When I decided to try and root this device 8 months ago I had no idea it involved so much. I can almost write my own svripts, I'm understanding the bugreports I generate and read and i haven't spent this much time in a ToyBox since I was 9.
Lol. I'm not complaining though... I love to learn.
Oh and I still haven't tried the ROM you recommended as of yet. PC seems buggy now too.

DNS66 ad blocker with no root needed

I thought I'd give some folk the heads up on this app, I've used it on different devices and works very well, the dev is also on here (I'm not great at linking)
I just thought for people like myself the main reason to root is to block dreaded apps.
This app works great , dev answers all questions all so.
App is downloaded through fdroid.
Let me know what you think
P.s also has a whitelist for apps (brucy bonus)

I just use adaway.
You obviously need root for adaway though
Point is this app does not need root

Yeah I know, why don't you root BTW? There are so many benefits to it.

You probably haven't tried Chads uber then. And magisk barely updates anymore. Xposed isn't even a big deal. The main thing it has is amplify bit if you miss it then just compile merge and Intergrate wakeblock into a rom you are using. If you are on stock you can get the equivalent to amplify without xposed or any integrating.

It really isn't. I tried both and noticed a noticeable speed and battery boost.

I guess
I've recently downloaded this app dns66 just to block the pesky ads! But I'm unsure on how to actually use it for blocking ads? I've read through step to step guides online but not having any luck.
I'm quite dull to it all really
Much obliged if anyone could give a man some knowledge. Cheers.

Note pie should be here soon

Running it now, albeit the leaked beta for the note 8. With the polish that this build seems to have I would highly expect it within the first two months of 2019.
Overall, the UI is a huge change. But overall I seem to like it when paired with some of the android pie changes. It feels snappy and so far user friendly.
I am still a fan of the stock android (pie) ui but this is definitely my favorite OEM skin so far.
I hate the fact that the Snapdragons get betas and leaks, and then after the official streams kick in, Exynos is bombarded with releases and Snapdragons remain behind.

I agree, this build of Pie, and One UI feels very good. AR Emoji and Bixby Vision are broken, but I don't ever use those features so not a deal breaker. Adaptive Battery is included with this build, I'll be interested to see how battery life is affected by this feature. All in all a very nice change from Oreo.

It seems to be working for me as I have it set up. But I have yet to attempt a purchase with it so I can't 100% verify yet that nothing is broken
Yeah but who cares about snapdragon models, but good for them to get something..
Apparently, closed beta ONE UI for Note 8 Snapdragon is up already.

I have a T-Mobile Note8 that already got CRK1 and installed this update last night; it was working totally fine, except for any 'Sunset to Sunrise' time settings, that would turn off every time you turned the screen off. It seriously is a good upgrade from the stock Oreo UI; much more clean, unified, and snappier.
But this morning, I woke up to my phone basically soft bricked. It just sat charging last night, and now it just randomly vibrates here and there, and the lock screen just doesn't show. I can make it do things with adb, and the camera will launch, but otherwise, its basically useless. I would skip this build.. I still haven't found a solution but to download CRK1 and downgrade back, which I'm waiting for the download to finish now. Reinstalling this beta and clearing the system cache didn't do anything.
I have a theory to why sd gets leaks more than exynos. Countries like usa brand the phone heavily and perhaps need to test it more and earlier to push out the update. That's also why they get the update last..
Just my 2 cents opinion

Can you let me know if this is an update or will it be a clean install. Can I use it with any carrier.

Just a quick update on this: the phone was actually working fine like that on the beta, it's just that my Good Lock's LockStar wasn't working; this happened again when I updated to DRL6, but I adb installed the new LockStar to get it to work again.
Official Pie in March.
Tried to install it on Snapdragon 950U1 but gave me error bc of firmware name or something like that.

You'll need to odin the T Mobile 5CRK1, first, then flash the Pie update zip.
