Until today, I had been running Cyanogenmod for Android 6. I decided to install Lineage OS with Android 7 and downloaded the latest version. I did a dirty flash but a bootloop happened after installation. So I followed this tutorial.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/unlock-bootloader-twrp-root-7-2-3-t3359492
I did everything from the beginning to have a fresh start. After I had TWRP installed, I installed magisk, then Lineage OS, then gapps -> bootloop.
Then everything again. TWRP -> Lineage OS -> gapps ->bootloop
Then everything again TWRP -> Lineage OS-> bootloop
Then I tried latest Nitrogen OS. Everything the same order as above -> bootloop.
Then even with the latest official MIUI -> bootloop
Then I tried the stock rom Miui 7.25 from the tutorial link above. And that one worked. So I cannot install a rom with Android 7.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Bootloader must be unlocked officially or flash latest MIUI global beta & unlock unofficially

It all works now for some reason. However, now my phone doesn't recognize the whole internal storage. The problem appeared after I had flashed a fastboot MIUI rom and TWRP again. When I entered recovery mode, TWRP showed that there are only 10gb of storage total, even though there should be 25 gb. It is as if the space is not formatted or something.
Anyone got a clue?

Did you wipe everything in recovery?

Hello folks
Here's what I've done and what happened:
1) I've been using LineageOS 14.1 with no problems, flashed it with TWRP 3.1.0.0
2) There was a system update available, but didn't go well and was stuck on splash screen
3) I flashed my original 14.1 ROM again with no problems and phone was OK again
4) I found out that there's 15.1 Lineage ROM available. Couldn't flash it with with my TWRP 3.1.0.0
5) Had to reflash recovery to newer version (3.2). It was provided along with the 15.1 Lineage ROM, downloaded from official website
6) Flashed recovery with no problems with Flashify, but trying to flash 15.1 gave me an error
7) So I tried to flash the good old 14.1, but couldn't do it with the newer TWRP
8) Flashed the good old TWRP 3.1.0.0 from the TWRP 3.2, it went OK, than flashed good old 14.1 ROM
9) Phone is still freezed on splash screen
So the result is, what worked yesterday with no problems, today doesn't work.
Any suggestions?
Seriously noone has any idea what to do?...
A month ago I tried installing Android 9.0 ROM and i got reboot loop after I did the phone setup. I tried different ROMs and everything had the same problem. Even twrp will also stop showing any files in the device and I need to change the file system and revert it back again then mount my phone to desktop and transfer the ROM. I was told that it was because of me not installing MIUI 10 before trying it. So today I installed MIUI 10 and tried installing lineage 16.0 and got the same problem. Phone starts going into reboot And recovery does not show any files!
Please help me from this hell! I'm hating this MIUI.

First of all I have to assume that you are sure that you have Redmi 5 plus (Vince) and not Redmi Note 5 Pro (Whyred), if this is the case let´s go to the next.
Any Miui rom encrypts data by default at least from oreo so no way to avoid this, if you flash a Miui rom then your data wont´be accesible and the next rom to be flashed you have to sideload it via adb (there are other ways).
I think you missed something here, if you flash a mui rom and over it a pie rom then there´s no way that your device reboots to system. You only have to flash firmware 8.1 from miui not the whole rom.
Start this from the scratch; I recommend OrangeFox recovery instead of TWRP so it has more features https://forum.xda-developers.com/re.../official-orangefox-recovery-project-t3807479
- Before to flash nothing In orangeFox recovery enable the options DM-verity and disable force encryption, you will find too options to keep OTA and others, check which you want.
- Flash the firmware miui 8.1 https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603850663
- Flash the pie rom for vince (may not apply for a GSI pie)
- Flash the Gapps (if needed)
it´s all.
Just a tip; be careful with changing system of files at any time so if the process is cutted/interrupted for some reason your device could be seriously damaged.
it does. you just need to flash firmware file first.
Hi,
I know I must be doing something dumb, but I am unable to install any rom on my MI A3. I unlocked my bootloader and installed TWRP. I tried installing the havoc os rom on my phone and it wouldn't boot after that (kept going straight into fastboot). So I went back to TWRP and wiped my internal storage and tried installing it again but the same problem kept happening. Now I cannot install any rom ( I have tried Lineage OS and crDroid). I performed the following steps to install a rom:
1. Copy the zip file to internal storage from my laptop
2. Clicked on install
3. Chose the file I just transferred
4. Did the swipe to confirm flash thing
5. It does the flash process without any errors, but then says do you really want to reboot, there is no OS installed.
Even if I try to reboot, it goes straight to fastboot. Checking my internal storage through TWRP, I can see that my system folder is empty.
EDIT: I realised that I need to flash it twice because of the A/B partition thing. I tried doing that too. Now, TWRP no longer says that there is no OS installed and I can see that there are some files in system/. However, I still cannot boot into the OS. It goes straight to fastboot.
EDIT AGAIN: I am able to boot after flashing the stock fastboot rom. So at least I can use my phone for now. However, I would still like to use Havoc OS. Any help is appreciated.
I tried a couple more ROMs. Pixel experience also gets stuck at fastboot and Lineage OS gets stuck in a boot loop

My problem is that I can't install havoc os. I tried all the methods....
Same for me, first time I installed Pixel Experience like you did and worked well, then I tried again and I can't install no more custom ROMs, always getting error 1 in recovery, or not installing TWRP at all. I was able to boot phone again by fastbooting Stock Android 10 v11.0.11.0 April.
But I really enjoyed PE and I wanted to install it.
So, I've managed to boot into twrp & I wiped all my data & then flashed lineage os (attachment) & rebooted but it didn't reboot into lineage os instead it went into that bootloader unlocked warning & then went black & now If I restart I can go back to that & then back to black. I did not flash magisk on it since the whole process of doing that changed recently now requiring you to do that from some kind of an app on an actually working os so I figured that I'll just install it from lineage os & as (from what I know) it's not required, not having magisk shouldn't be the issue. Any ideas?
did you flash vendor? some Android 11 ROMs are vendor-less, needs you to download Android 11 vendor from your device group, I suggest telegram. anyways you can look for a ROM that has "vendor included" note to avoid that for easier flash.
Have unlocked bootloader and installed TWRP 3.7.0_9-0
Have tried to flash Pixel Experience 11, Pixel Experience 12 and Arrow v11
All of them just hang at first boot, with the animated logo. I left each for over half an hour.
Have wiped everything I can think to wipe.
Is there something obvious I'm failing to do ? Lineage 18.1-20210620 was on the device before I started.
Edit: I can re-install Lineage 18.1 but nothing newer. Do I need to do something to enable newer ROM flashes?

To check:
TWRP/O.F
wipe/format data type yes
reboot Twrp/O.F
Flash latest firmware (if necessary).
Flash the rom as instructed by the OP.

Use TWRP by REIGNZ based on A12 system_ext. You can find it my POCO F1 Ultimate Collection & Guides along with Guides for clean installation.
P.S: Near the link of twrp by reign you will also find a link for the current bugs/issues and workaround for them.
