How did you write over a program without root? If worse comes to worse hook it up to your p.c. and use Samsung smartswitch to recover the tablet.

Quite simply, I've installed a newer, more recent version of touchwiz, specifically for the Galaxy s8 smartphone. It works perfectly and no longer has the "applications" button. To access the apps list, you have to swipe upwards.
However I would like to restore touchwiz stock version.
PS if I try to install the file kindly provided by vogemic, i have the "package analysis" error

Try this. Go to settings and then apps. Click on the three dots (upper right corner) and select show sytem apps. Look for the launcher and click on it. Again choose the three dots an select remove updates.

Installed a 4.2.1 Rom but it doesn't have Samsung keyboard and I need that 5th row with numbers. Any way to flash or install the apk of it? Or is there a modded 4.2 with the number row?

Maybe, but I doubt it. (I've never made a flashable zip, but I'm guessing there's more to it than what I did.)
It's just an apk inside a zip archive. I'm guessing I made it a zip because xda wouldn't accept an apk. You can just extract the apk out of the zip file with an app like zarchiver or es file explorer, than tap it to install. (Make sure "Unknown sources" is enabled in settings > security.)

ha yeah i had tried it... not luck.. said something about no MetaFile found.. LOL...
I think right now my work around will be using the Google Handwriting Keyboard and then having the S-Pen Command app switch from standard keyboard to that when the S-Pen is removed..

Don't know what rom you're using, but if you installed it through a flashable zip file you can extract these apk's from that zip file.
it was to anoying becouse i couldn't call or answer so i did a factory reset, but it would have been nice to know i didn't have to. thank you for the answer. it's good to know for the next time i do something stupid.

You can also reflash the rom, without doing a factory reset.

Frist u must have cwm at least 6.0.4 not less than that .
Sec. Make backup before you do that because I used it twice .

You want to organize your apps by placing them into folders?
Press and hold an app and drag it on top of an other app.

Oké you want folders in the app drawer. Maybe your launcher doesn't support that feature. I don't know if there are free launchers that support folders in the app drawer.

Depends on what you want with the launcher. I bleieve NOVA launcher prime has to options to create folder in the app drawer.

No you don't need to create any folder just be sure to set the proper attributes to the APK then.
Do some search here in the forums as you will find many examples and guides.

Thanks. I got it installed but now it just keeps FCing. I'll probably have to odin back to stock to get it to work oh well not worth it.

First you need a root file manager for example "es file manager"
Then go to system and open build.prop as text and write # Multi Users
fw.max_users=3
fw.show_multiuserui=1 end of it
Will this display the Active user in the dropdown statusbar also?

Thanks for the tip. I need to do some research and see if this works on Kitkat. Ive been trying to figure out a way to enable the S Health app for another user, although I havent tried just making a second samsung account and adding that to the phone accounts list..but anyways... This might just be the answer (or at least get me in the correct direction!). Thanks!

Got stuck in a bootloop. Not sure what to do now tried aroma file manager. cant find the system directory. I copied the original build.prop file on my external sd card though. Any ideas?

You should using some Recovery support Filemanager, like TWRP, or any Rec and flash AROMA FileManager
then mount \System then put back file backup before, dont forget set permision 644. DONE!

I was using the galaxy note 4 (N910F). It's fine though I gave up and just flashed the stock image back on my phone. AromaFileManager wasn't working for me though. It was strange it just crashed TWRP every time. I tried many different versions too. Thanks anyways guys
