Hi,
I'm posting this question here in the hopes that someone will be kind enough to help me since I don't have the post count to post in the development section.
I installed the omega ROM and really like it but I need the Email.apk that is not included in this ROM. When I copy the Email.apk from other 2.3.6 stock based ROMs the app constantly FCs. Does anybody have an Email.apk and/or Email.odex that will work with this ROM.

Should i suggest a thing?
First backup your system.then go flash any rom which has that that email.apk.
Then open titanihm backup and backup the email app. Then go to cwm recovery and restore omega rom and then restore the app again via titanium backup. This shud work
. If it doesnt work then tell me. I will upload the email apk.

Thanks for your response. I tried your suggestion but it still FCs as soon as the phone powers up.
I think it's because the omega rom is odexed and all the 2.3.6 based roms that I have are deodexed.
When I look at the /system/app directory all system apps have an .apk and a corresponding .odex file of each application.
If you have a 2.3.6 odex version of Email.apk I would really appreciate it if you could upload it.

Doesn't work. I flashed via CMW5 but gave me a status 6 error. I copie the files via ADB in /swystem/app but no go. Thanks anyway!

Guys, I have just copied the files to "system/app" ... nothing... i even don't see the icon in the applications list... whould I flash the zip and add the files or just add the files?

Did you extract the files on your computer first and then add them to system/app?
Did you reboot your phone after putting the files there?

1.first backup ur rom via cwm.
2.install any rom with the app u r searchin for.
3.install titanium backup pro and convert email app from system app to user app.
4.backup the email app.
5. restore omega and restore email app.....

i don't have the a orginal system dump uploaded...i have a system and framework folders that is deodexed if you would like. it can be flashed through cwm or twrp for anybody else that wants to deodex there system.
anybody that choose to flash this in recovery...This will not delete the odex files. you have to manually delete them after flashing..sorry

Mate, to make the zip file for ROMs, gapps, other mods the method is different!
And logo.bin is a different file.. It dont have same scripts as normal zips...
You can download flashable zip from moto g thread and see its content!

put the script from moto g zip into a folder and the edited logo.bin
and create zip
extract the zip of moto g logo and then replace the logo.bin with any of moto e logos and zip that back and flash it will mostly work since its from a moto device
you can find my logos collection in themes and mods section

Yup, I know that, we can just replace logo.bin in that zip with our.
But we don't know what is clogo.img. Maybe it may create problems in phone as its for moto g or maybe it work.. I can still replace logo.bin of our moto E in that moto g zip and give, but clogo may/maynot cause problems!

OK I will try and report.
Backwards request anyone know where I could find the warning message to reflash?? I was rather proud of it and testing a ROM made it go away the other day..

Yes
How can I create the proper folder names for each app? Android creates special names, like "com.buak.Link2SD-1" to add other data. When app updates, it automatically creates a folder and the name of the apk turns to "base.apk".

hello maybe this is a stupid question but how do i install this on my windows cpu i dowload the file but there is no installer so can u plz help is there a special program that opens these files on cpu because i was looking for smthing to installl on my pc tp make flashable zip files from APK files can you ezplain or point me in the right direction thank you very much

I'm trying to import the update binary of a cyanogen mod for my Moto G Lollipop phone. I've extracted the zip of the nightly build, and then extracted the update binary as instructed, but there's still no zip to import.

Extract the folder, then open the javascript .jar launcher which should be in your downloads directory.

Update-binary is not a .zip. It is extensionless.

You can do it by yourself:
1. Extract the zip I gave
2. Take 1 apk at once and name them base.apk(that's the name of the apk on the zip if I'm not wrong)
3. Copy and replace one apk in system/app of the extracted zip's folder
4. Go back and select META-INF and system and compress them in zip
This'll take roughly 5-10 minutes for finishing both
Or you can do a little research after your exams (there's lots of threads available in XDA for that) and make a flashable zip with both at once
