I've seen people on threads write about how they have the android Oreo beta for the European model (stf-lo9), but I can't find a way to sign up for the beta, only the us honor website has that function. Have I missed the entry date or is it just a select few that are chosen for the beta?
Yes, you have missed the date for joining the beta.

Let's hope for this
I have asked Huawei for the P9 Plus Oreo update, this is a translation of what they responded. Original message was in Dutch since I am from Belgium. I contacted my local Huawei support.
"We understand that you would love to have Android 8.0 on your device. On this moment, we do not have an exact date on when Android 8.0 will be available for your device, but it is to be expected on Q1 of 2018. Please be convinced that we are working to get all the devices with the required specs on the best software-update version, so most likely for your device as well. But when this is happening is still to be confirmed. We are currently working on the development for Android 8.0 update for the Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, P10 and P10 Plus. When you will receive the update will also depent from your provider. Some provider tweak the update right before they sent it OTA to their customers. Please check for an OTA update regularly to see if there is an update available via: Settings - System update - Check for system updates."
I have a post dedicated to future updates. Check it out! https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9-plus/how-to/talk-future-updates-huawei-p9-plus-t3625111

You must contact EMUI directly & not the local Huawei Service, everytime local Huawei Service don't have any informations. EMUI 8 IS CONFIRMED FOR P9 PLUS, you can find also an article from xda site.
This is awesome, still a great phone that works stellar for me. And now the security patches have been ticking in lately so Huawei do start to look like the top notch they wants to be
This means that we are going to have project treble?

hello guys
ive grabbed some messages in china forum.According to internal testers, the axon 7 wil recieve no more updates. This speaks about the mifavor version.Dont know about stock version (G ,U),but dont expect something from them.
Hello everyone! According to the arrangement of the project team, the update of the 7 Oreo MFV 5.2 version of Tianyi stopped. The A7 micro test project will end synchronously, but the group will not be disbanded. Thank you for participating in the public beta of Tianji 7 and the support from the past. Your feedback help version is stable as soon as possible, which promotes the quality improvement of the version, and also provides many optimization ideas for the subsequent models. Thank you again!
that means b23 was the last Release for the A2017 Variant ?

Any ideas on dates for the beta rollout for global users?
Also, any ideas for a full, final release of EMUI10 rollout for global users?

Nice but I wonder if it's a global rollout or just China/India only. Also it's weird that there is no global beta - I am still anticipating one. Eastern Europe btw.
Honor has closed the beta program of EMUI 10... "Honor 8X and We are at the final stages of releasing the software, the stable version of Android 10 release can be expected by the third week of January 2020”.
I have china version of Honor 8x, 6+128 GB. I installed google play sore by brute force method, at end of september 2019. With LZPLAY apk.
What will be happen when my chinese Honor 8x become stable EMUI 10 ??? Will I lose Google Play Store ?
I have Honor 8x JSN-AL00
Got the stable update. Downloading now on Honor 8x India.

I am running version 10.0.0.157 right now, and I didn't sign up for the beta.
Interestingly, the offer to update my version came only via HiCare, not via the menu in system settings. If you have not tried that yet, give it a shot.
