I can't find any real reviews or info on the stock music app. Does it have Crossfade? Silence skip?
Can anybody post screen shots of all the options available? Thanks.
The stock player is VERY basic. Volume control, pause, previous, next, random, repeat, favorite, Qualcomm/Sabre DAC toggle, cast to other device, playlist, display of input file specs, lyrics, search, share, library list by songs, albums, artists, genre
Only available with standard resolution files or lower are:
5 band equalizer
Pitch and speed controls

[Q] The music for settings-->sound-->volume-->media is hot, where can I find it?
When I go into settings, and change the volume of various elements in the sounds menu, it plays audio I recognize:
"Incoming Call" plays my current ringtone
"System" doesn't play anything
"Notification" plays my current notification ringtone
When I change the volume for "Media", it plays a really hot tune. I used root explorer to try and find it in system files, and went through all the .ogg files, but could not find it. Can anyone tell me where the "Media" tune is found on the phone?
Thanks!
I have a bug that's occured in both stock and Liquid Speed ROMs and would like to share.
I have been using the built-in Google Music app as my media player and have discovered an easily recreatable (for me) bug. When playing music off the internal memory that does not have album art the slider bar you'd use to fast forward does not function, the music timer does not appear, and the timer which would show the length of the song indicates 0:00. If I try to use the slider to fast forward to any point in the song it resets to the beginning.
This problem does not occur if the media has album art attached.
Is there another version of Google Music I could try? Perhaps an older one?
If not, can I get recommendations for an alternate media player?
Thanks
Like the question states, is there any way to keep the music icon in the notification area when you click on it to pause a song? Before ICS, you could pause the song, and it would stay there, so that you could click it again and resume the song. Now, when you pause the song, it disappears, so you have to go into the actual music app to resume the song. I am not complaining way too much, I mean, it just takes an extra 10 seconds depending on what I am doing, but it was a great feature, and I was wondering if it was at all possible to get it back
I was a long time ios user that bought the galaxy note, and my biggest issue is controlling music apps.
On the iphone from the lockscreen regardless of what app I'm playing from (spotify, stitcher, ipod, whatever) I could easilly pause and play whatever I'm listening to from one interface.
I haven't found a way to do this with my Note. What I've resorted to doing is having a seperate spotify app widget, and a stitcher app widget, and an audible widget on my lockscreen so I can pause and play each of them pending on what I was listening to.
Please tell me there is a way around this.
Most of the good music apps have a setting to place controls on the lockscreen. Look in the apps settings.
beats audio
you should put beats audio on your phone

Yeah, thats what I have, but thats what I'm trying to avoid (having individual apps having lock screen controls). So on my lockscreen now I have A widget for stitcher, spotify, and audible. I was hoping to have one thing that allows me to pause/play what I'm listening to like I can on an ios device.

Sorry. I guess I wasn't really clear in my post. You don't need the widgets or icons in the lockscreen. Just go to the application and there "should" be a setting to allow the player in the lockscreen. Then, when you are playing something it will show in the lockscreen. But only while it is playing. Otherwise it is hidden, not visible. This works for my Poweramp app. I don't have the apps you listed so I can't get any more specific than this. Hope it helps.
Found the app Media Buttons
Does exactly what I needed. Now I can pause music from any app without having to think about whats playing.
Is there a way to get the name of the artist that is playing in Play Music to Tasker?
I know that the GoneMad Music Player supports %MARTIST out to Tasker, but it cannot stream from my Google Music account.
Perhaps this isn't even the best way to accomplish what I'm trying; what I want is to display the artist's name and the track name when music is playing, and to hide all text when it is not. I want to do this on the desktop, as well as on the lock screen.
What I've been able to do so far is to have Tasker send the variable %MTRACK to a variable named %CURRENT_TRACK because when the music stops or is paused, %MTRACK does not update. Tasker checks to make sure that music is still playing, and if not it sets %CURRENT_TRACK to empty. Minimalistic Text displays this, and is updated by Tasker every time %CURRENT_TRACK is changed. I would like to replicate this behaviour with the artist name as well.
Ideally the music controls would also disappear, but that I'm sure I can accomplish if I bang around in UCCW for long enough.
Phantom Music Control works on the lockscreen, but the widget doesn't disappear when running on the desktop for me.
