Help migrating from Cyanogen 12.1 to LineageOS - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone
I need some help migrating my Galaxy S2 to lineage OS. A year or more ago I installed Cyanogen 12.1 successfully (when I also repartitioned the memory) and everything was/is working fine. Now I want to migrate to Lineage OS but I am stuck.
The main problem seems to be that the phone now has Cyanogenmod recovery which does not recognise the signature of the LineageOS new image. So I try to replace the Cyanogen recovery with TWRP but it doesn't work. In particular I follow the instructions here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...t/isorec-isolated-recovery-galaxy-s2-t3291176
but the adb push twrp-3.1.0-1-i9100.img /dev/block/mmcblk0p6 command doesn't work - I get 'Remote permission denied'.
Could this be because of the repartitioning I did when I installed CM 12.1? I don't remember exactly what I did but I think I configured a partioning of 4G data, 1G apps
If I do an adb shell into the phone (enabled debugging and root access) the mount command I get (among others)
Code:
/dev/block/mmcblk0p9 /system ext4 ro,seclabel,noatime,user_xattr,barrier=1,data=ordered 0 0
/dev/block/mmcblk0p7 /cache ext4 rw,seclabel,nosuid,nodev,noatime,errors=panic,user_xattr,barrier=1,journal_async_commit,data=ordered 0 0
/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 /efs ext4 rw,seclabel,nosuid,nodev,noatime,errors=panic,user_xattr,barrier=1,journal_async_commit,data=ordered 0 0
/dev/block/mmcblk0p10 /data ext4 rw,seclabel,nosuid,nodev,noatime,errors=panic,user_xattr,barrier=1,journal_async_commit,data=ordered,noauto_da_alloc 0 0
/dev/block/mmcblk0p12 /preload ext4 rw,seclabel,nosuid,nodev,noatime,user_xattr,barrier=1,journal_async_commit,data=ordered 0 0
df command gives
Code:
/dev 393.6M 40.0K 393.5M 4096
/sys/fs/cgroup 393.6M 0.0K 393.6M 4096

Anyone has any suggestions how I can proceed to install TWRP to get to upgrade the OS?

OK, I got past the "Remote permission denied" step by doing an "adb root" first, but still no joy. That is, if I push the recovery and then issue a "adb reboot recovery" still the CM recovery comes up
Any suggestion would be appreciated...

[Q] Even after a full wipe, /data partition has 10Gb used

Hello,
As I started to get low memory warnings, I tried to uninstall all apps, reset data, etc (G+ post with screenshots here: https://plus.google.com/b/108315424589085456181/108315424589085456181/posts/f39yDQqaRox)
As this was not working, I manually wiped /data partition in recovery, but even after a wipe, my /data partition is nearly filled.
I really don't get what happened and how to format my partition in a way that really works!
Thanks for any help

Where did 10 gigabytes go?

Hi. I have around 22 gigabites on internal storage whereas I know it should 32 gbs. So what takes 10 gbs? And is possible to expand internal storage?

Well. I'm sorry if my question seems really stopid but I did not understand that thing.
In other words you mean that the main system is installed on the hidden partition rights? Cuz all file managers shows the maximum capacity is 22gbs and around 9gb is already occupied. And 10 gigabytes is hidden. I'm sorry but I rally doubt that that system takes around 18 gb in total.
So the problem is that all file managers shows 22 gbs maximum capacity whereas it should be 32 gb. Definitely there should be hidden recovery partition like in windows... So am I wrong?:crying: can I remove it?

I could not find out how to run terminal with such permissions on android.
But from the picture I see if I understand it right, the capacity of internal storage includes only data. Other system stuff are kinda on hidden partitions.

OK. Thanks DHGE I think I understand.

What is the total internal storage of this device?

Its not my phone but I am troubleshooting it through internal storage running out. Phone in settings show 8GB internal but I suspect its 4GB in total. Here is "adb shell df" output. Can you figure out how much internal it has. I am confused regarding many /mnt partitions and I cant figure it out.
