Sorry if I missed old similar thread.. But my problem isn't solved and I've been googling about two days.
My device wont recognize external USB stick. I've tried NTFS and FAT32, other USB memories, installing different programs etc but nothing does solve it.
My other device, Samsung and even Nokia c7-00 recognize it, so wheres problem? Usb otg checker shows that I have support for OTG, Es file manager recognize that I mount stick but wont open. Only says "File cant be open" or something similar.
I could need some un-root tips what to do.
Device is Huawei Y6 Pro (TIT-L01) and build ends with B115. Unrooted.

All,
I've tried everything and I cannot get my PC's to recognise my GS2.
It's not even constant, sometimes I connect it via USB to the PC and it comes up as unrecongised device, other times it will detect as a camera as GT-i9100 (regardless of it I select MTP)... I've reinstalled Kiers I don't know how many times and have even manually installed the drivers but still no luck.
So I gave up with that as I only want to connect to Odin to get rid of this crap software. So I downloaded the CWM root package onto my SD Card and booted into recovery, went to apply the zip and it says it cannot mount /sdcard as not such directory exists?!?! Now I don't have an external SD Card but the .zip file is located on the internal storage in /sdcard/Downloads.
I have a Mac at home that allowed a connection into Kiers first time to update to stock ICS - should I just abandon this trying to connect to Windows and try and find an alternative to Odin for Mac?
Thanks for any help at all.
Dan.
but the .zip file is located on the internal storage in /sdcard/Downloads.
NO try copy pasting update zip file on root of SD card then try....
Edit : this rooting methed you can only try on ICS vesrions
Thanks ZACQ8.
I just thought I'd try another USB cable as a last shot, and OMG it started installing the drivers Still failed to install the Mobile MTP Device but it's getting there...
You have to use the same USB port when you connect your SGSII.
I noticed that if I plugged it into another port the phone would come up as unrecognised - this was all tested on a few PCs when the phone was on GB and connecting as an external hard drive.
I haven't tested if the problem still exists with ICS, as it do 'external hard drive'.
Seems like it was the cable all along...
Phone now recognised in Odin and Device Manager.
Pile of crap.
I have the following problems:
1. I can`t copy files to both the internal and external sdcard through usb
I tried to uninstall Kies and all the drivers, rebooted and reconnected the phone and windows says usb drivers not installed: missing cdc serial number. Than i installed Samsung mobile USB driver 1.5.5.0 and still cannot transfer files to and from the phone.
2. If i transfer files with Airdroid i cannot flash tem, it says E: not accessible ( i formated the external sdcard twice both on the phone and on the pc). Flashing from the internal sdcard is also not possible.
I have no clue what happened and i hope someone can provide a usefull tip. I`am on stock rom right now ,not rooted and did a factory reset and still no transfer possible. Get the message: Device stopped answering or the connection is broken. Tried several usb ports, using a samsung usb cable.
-Edit- SOLVED
Hello, I am having a problem getting my galaxy tab 10.1 to recognize a usb flash drive I have connected via an adapter. I know it works because it detected a wireless mouse I connected to it, and it shows up when I use dmesg or lsusb in the terminal. The thing is that none of the file explorers I've used (Es, Astro) are able to detect the files I have on it. The usb drive is formatted to fat32; would it be more likely to detect it if I formatted it to ext3 or ext4?
Maybe you need to use this?

Thanks so much for showing me that! I went through at lest five other apps that didn't work before trying this. :victory:
when I plug in my I717 via USB in my desktop, windows sees it as Samsung Android device, but when I go into windows explorer, there's nothing to see (the usb or sd storage isnt listed at all) and I do have mtp usb storage activated on the phone and usb debug. I am running gingerbread touchwiz rom. I can see the phone and transfer files wirelessly with ES file explorer, but I cant access the sd card or the phones internal storage through usb windows explorer connection even though device management shows Samsung android device. Windows Device manager shows the phone with no yellow flags. anyone had this happen and found solution to share? thanks
You can try rebooting the computer, using different usb ports, using a different cable. I don't know if this works on gingerbread but I have used it on jellybean roms before when I've had trouble connecting... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.zatta.USB_switch
Just thought of one other thing. You didn't say anything about Windows loading the device drivers so I gotta ask if you have installed the Samsung drivers?

yep..have samsung drivers. also, about the app you linked above, I'd like to try it out but google play says its not compatible with my device (probably because I'm still on gingerbread). anywhere else I can download the apk and try manual install?
I think your problem is that you are connecting via MTP (media transfer protocol). You need to connect via USB mass storage. With your Note not connected to your PC, go into Settings, under Wireless and network look for USB utilities. Follow the phone's instructions for connecting to USB storage to your PC. Wait for the Windows autostart to read the phone storage. (My PC is XP and takes a minute or so.) Then you should see two new drives show on Windows Explorer. One is phone internal storage and the other is the phone's external SD card. Hope this works for you. Good luck!
I believe sonebwood is on the right track on this. I remember when the Note first came out I had to change something to get windows to see the drives. Is there any particular reason you keep the phone on gingerbread? ICS was a lot better and you can update to JB through Kies.
I was going to use the Android TV backup files posted by another user, Iv'e successfully flashed TWRP, wiped everything out, but here comes the problem..
The Mi Box won't recognize any of my USB Sticks! I tried like 4 flash drives in FAT32 and multiple USB hubs, and it still won't recognize any of them.
I can't place the new files in the internal storage because the OS is gone.
I have tried to push files / sideload via adb but it wouldn't even show up on my pc as a connected device.
Please help, I don't know how to fix this.. :crying:
