[XPOSED][17+]Whatsapp Notification Masker - Xposed Framework Modules

I feel very unsafe when some-one ask for my phone and a whatsapp notification arrived with visible message.
It is very irritating. So i made this module for my purpose but i thought anyone else also would need it. so I made an module which actually mask all the notification of whatsapp. Its in very basic stage. maybe i will ad some more feature.
Here is the repo link. Code will be pushed soon.
Cheers

Sounds very interesting ?

Package is corrupt

Interesting module but package is corrupt and no screenshots

This can be done by hiding Whatsapp notification details in default android settings, what's the use of this module?

Not work

Very interested in this feature.
The module is removed from the Xposed repo, are you planning an update?

[APP][4.0.3+ & GB][XPOSED] NotifyClean

Cleans up the notification area, and much more
You could configure which apps are allowed to create notifications in the top left area, the notification area. If an app creates a notification it will be collected and added to the list.
You could deny all notifications of an app or only specific messages - if it's not a customized notification. So I used it to hide "waiting for connection", but not "you are connected".
Changed settings are applied after a reboot!
With a donation you supports this app and get more options.
Important:
This app needs the Xposed Framework. The framework requires root access for installation. Don't forget to enable the module in Xposed. You can grab it here: Xposed Installer

Looks very interesting. Do you know in how far this might conflict or work with other, similar modules and/or on certain phones and android versions? Specifically I'm on an lg g2 with xblast installed and without a working recovery, and i don't want to risk a bootloop.

It doesn't, I've had bootloops when trying incompatible modules just for kicks.

I have a file named "Xposed-Disabler-cwm.zip" on my sd card. (I believe I downloaded it along with the main Xposed app)
If, due to a module, I get into a boot loop issue etc., which I have...then I simply boot into recovery (without a pc) and run this zip. Boom. All modules are temporarily disabled. :good:
No need for this. gravity have that option now and with out paying!!!!

I have Xposed-Disabler-cwm.zip too, dated to 10.10.2013, Xposed installer creates it. But now you know to en-/disable without sdcard
@flexxoo As i wrote in the OP also LBE has such an option. But i dont like it to get additional an adblocker, virusscanner, firewall, traffic counte etc bundled. All these additional features consumes memory, uses the cpu and drain your battery.
Maybe you should first try the app before you blame. Then you would also know that you do not have to donate to block notifications

Yes, in the 1st post is a link to Xposed Repository. There is a direct linkt to download the apk - or just use xposed installer itself to download
Sadly it does not seem to work.
Log shows all recent Notifications but nothing shows up in the main window.
Running AOKP 4.2.2 by Maclaw on a S3 Mini
All other Xposed Stuff works fine.
[Edit]
Disregard it. Actually rebooted twice when i wrote this. After a third reboot its working now
Great App, thanks a lot.
Works like a charm. Thanks for the module.
I would tend to want the red color for ALL, and something "weaker" for individual notifications.

Different sources for both
1) The log entries are taken from debug.log of xposed
2) The database with notifications is updated by the hook every time a new one is detected (no more write access as needed), the app itself reads the file.
But the app has to create the file to get the app's permissions&owner, the hook does not creates it because the app could not read it later due to missing permissions. So the new notifications could not written, but are logged.
I add it to the 1st post
When removing the notification does it remove the service or just the icon in the task bar?
Will android close the app when it needs memory or will the app stay open like when the icons are showing in the task bar?
I wanted to use the module to remove the notification of "No Sim card" (I am currently using N8000 without a sim) it's found in the system ui notifications but when i select it and reboot nothing happens but then i restart system ui and the notification is gone
But when i select it and custom design then reboot it works but i dont know if this would disable other notifications.... .. so What's the problem?!

Technical the app calls the function to create a notification, but this call never reches the system.
I'm using a other app by me named "KeepRunning" to restart crashed/closed apps. I've oberserve also some apps which are configured to not show notification. The logfile of KeepRunning tells me that during the last week only Whatsapp was several times was restarted, but this has no restricted notifications.
So i *think* the apps are not closed by Android. Btw, i the worst case Android closed any app, regardless of services or nifications

Xposed framework has not function to get a "Context"
To get the texts of a notification a "Context" is required
So the module searches for a context to read the notification.
Now the "system ui" starts very early and at this point it seems a context is not yet available and the notification is detected as "text not readable" and the app shows it as "custom design" :-/ If later a context is available notifications of system ui are read correct.
So i think it thould be okay to disable custom design for system ui to get rid of "no sim" notification
You could simple recognize a real custom design of notifications. The app "My Data Manager" uses such a one for notifications, i've attached a screenshot and marked it
You could enable the full logging by creating a empty file /data/data/de.defim.apk.notifyclean/files/NotifyClean.logging , a reboot is required to take effect. Be warned, it could slow down your device, so enable it not all the time

[APP][4.0.3+ & GB][XPOSED] EnhancedToast

Allows only desirable toasts, and much more
You could configure which apps are allowed to show toast notifications. If an app creates a toast it will be collected and added to the list.
You could deny *all* toasts of an app or only *specific* messages.

EnhancedToast should record every toast, it hooks to a android function. I had never used Go Launcher. Could it be that this app uses a own "toast" method? Try to enable full logging in the settings and watch the logfile if such a toast is created

OK...I will try to watch the log.
Just to let you know...maybe a clue...both Burnt Toast and Buttered Toast modules work with the GoLauncher Toast. So in other words, they both see and modify the GoLauncher toast. Other app toasts tested so far are seen by all three modules (enhanced/buttered/burnt toast)
Can it change the color of the toast?

EDIT 3: Working now, but with a disadvantage: All "launcher" apps do not get new settings immediately, they need a reboot..
Thanks for the module, Nice be able able to control the ever growing number of toast messages.
I haven't encountered any errors, but I do have a feature request.
I would love to see some form of pattern matching, to filter on that.
If you look at the screenshot I block the TB "Number of app data elements:" toast. But since this number changes all the time I need to set it for every number. That's not very practical.

Reboot is not required if the "reload always" is enabled (=default). I should not write anything before i have done it ...
There are some apps which uses "special" toasts, like Swype (eg on changing language), EX File Explorer (eg on "back" touch) or GO Launcher. They all could now be handled
Btw, i just pushed another update. There was a bug which could prevent recording of any toasts :silly:

Facing its lack of features, WhatsAppX is my attempt in improving your Whatsapp experience.
This includes the following functions:
1. Per Contact Wallpaper
Personalize your chats by applying individual wallpapers to each of your contacts.
2. Lock Contacts
Lock selected chats with pattern-protection
3. Hide Message Preview
Hide the message preview displayed on the main screen of whatsapp (also for selected contacts)
4. Save Favorites
Add important messages to WhatsAppX so you dont have to scroll through your whole chat history
5. Set Reminder
Remind yourself to answer a contact
6. Highlight contacts
Highlight a contact in the chat overview
7. Call over cell instead of Whatsapp-call
8. QuickReply option from notifications
All those Features integrate seamlessly into WhatsApp and can be personalized up to a certain degree.
For some of the features you have to long press on a message for further options.
In case you get a notification that says "Failed to install or find sqlite3 on your device..." - try this:

Tip for others -
If you are on a Lollipop device, sqlite3 might not be working on your device. But you have a solution if you have Titanium Backup installed on your device. Do this -

If you're already inside the WhatsApp code I would love to see an option/a module to disable the three dots in the upper right corner and the camera icon within the text field in chatview

There is already a module that disable the camera icon ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-whatsapp-mods-remove-action-t2824732 ). It doesn't seem to be under development anymore, but you can try that, for me it is working but some people say that it isn't.
Edit: i see now that his developer is not on XDA from 21st February 2015. So maybe i'll look at the code for this things, when i'll have time...

I don't know why it isn't working for some peolpe. Try the attached apk. It should remove camera button and voice recording button from the text field. For me it is partially working, i don't know why but it does some strange effects (but it removes the buttons). Basically i've use the same code of the other module...
If you want to go back, just download version 1.1 from Xposed Repo.
Good work..

How about integrating features from other whatsapp related modules,so that we can use a single module?

Probably i won't do that. I mean, a lot of developers are working on it, so i can't just grab their work and include into my module...
It would be virtually impossible to coordinate everyone...

Someone has tried that?
Edit: the attached version should solve all issue about camera and voice button. They disapperad completely, but the code is very bad...
If this works, i can make an interface so everyone can choose what they want to remove...
Nice i would love Interface with option to remove camera icon only. Great mod. http://m.imgur.com/nsvtcBR White dot at end of bubble

Good. I will clean up the code, make an interface and then i'll publish that. I don't know how long this will take...

[MOD][XPOSED] Disable Instagram Double Tap To Like

I created this simple module at the request of a friend.
It disables the double tap to like feature of Instagram to prevent accidental liking.
A similar module for this was created before, however, the dev hasn't updated it in over a month.
Download:
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.akif.instagram.disabledt2l
any issues, please post them here. I will keep this app updated.
To-do:
- add GUI w/ dialog option
will try this, i hope this resolve instalike module that no update till now.
@Akif97
Yes it work, but it does not have notification like InstaLike (do yo want to like this "yes" / "no"?)
If there's a high enough demand for it I'll add it soon.
I thought that option was rarely used, lol

Add it please, + add icon + UI also, so we can configure it.
Nice work! hope you add the ask for like popup thingy
Seems like it doesn't work for me. Cataclysm (5.1.1), Instagram 7.9.0 (build 15997156)
I've updated it for 7.9.0 and it'll be on Xposed soon
I'll add the UI and dialog next update
Thank you?. Whether it's possible to make a universal module, so it's not necessary to make fixes after every Instagram update?

Not possible, the only suggestion I can give is to disable auto updating for Instagram and only update until the module is updated
This is awesome. Does it work on lollipop?
