Kudos to the users who are still using the device. Hope the company makes more effort and brings Nougat to this device (fingers-crossed).
Good luck updating!
Bhardwaj Saab... We already have Oreo for our device even if it is unofficial but it is way more smooth than OOS and is a daily driver.

Of course, you do buddy. Even the last ROM I had installed on the OP2 was Nougat-based. Just wanted to share the information. :good:

Honestly I'm done with all this flashing business for now. I've tried countless custom ROMs for multiple devices and none of them ever live up to the expectations. Imho it's best to use anstock ROM with debloat and a cutom kernel on a device love OP2 just for KCAl control. I'm good for now on 3.6.1 performance is amazing. Battery life even better. ?

As mentioned in the title, I'd like to know which is the best custom ROM option right now.
My device: RN3 SE (kate)
Depends on what your idea of "best" is:
Stability, battery life, speed or having the latest Android version.
You can't have them all in one ROM.
Mokee
there is no "best" rom!
each rom is made for people with different needs from a ROM! in stability and being fast most of them are almost the same because all are based on Lineage OS
Right now I stick to xiaomi.eu ROM. Everything works as expected. Lineage ROM suffers several camera and torch bugs.
Tired of trying Roms ?

You can with LineageOS 13 - latest Security-Level - all is running perfect, camera perfect and battery-life is amazing.
I use LOS13 for over a month now and not only one bug found. It is much better than MIUI!

Camera flash bugs?
No, because it uses same source then MIUI! No bugs at all...
I would recommend you Resurrection Remix, if you want features and customisations, but NitrogenOS is also good, it has most stable camera among nougat roms.

Try the pixel experience rom. It's really good. I'm currently using it
Any Nougat ROM. Xiaomi officially released Nougat sources for mido a few days ago, so expect even more stability as Nougat ROMs continue to update. I favour LOS myself, but I'm sure there are better ones out there (probably).

You can try RR rom official version which is nougat
MoKee has been working perfectly for me on my Mi4 and now on RN4. It's very similar to LOS, but has built-in root and the ability fingerprint-secure an app. There's also an OTA updater and the whole thing is rock solid.

U can try omni rom .
it has delta updates
updates regularly on weekly basis
u can track the daily changelogs with the help of their pre loaded app
close to aosp with just the required features implemented
u dont have to worry about updating or flashing, everything is done by the updater app
Hope this is enough for you .

For me lineage 14.1 official is the best for stability speed and battery with franco kernel
AEX is good rom
MIUI based Rom, Multi Pro global stable Rom. The best in stability, battery and performance.

Extended or nightly? And which build?
Best oreo rom by far that I've used is not even on xda. It's alexey711 lineage extended. Smoothest running and has a ton of features. Bluetooth works great. Pretty much a perfect rom. It's on androidfilehost under his directory.
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=256804
I've been thinking about giving it a shot on Cosmic. Reviews are great and all I need is a stock experience with stability (and gcam, lol).

2nd place are Firehound

Any oreo rom is only for mido. MTK variant (nikel) can have only 6.0 stable and broken 7.x
Does anyone have nougat and marshmallow ROM that is recently updated or is rock solid stable
Need to test some old mods and SOT differences.
May be dual boot compatible.
Don't want to backup current stuff
I don't find Oreo roms very reliable, but Nougat roms are pretty good.
This is my favourite: ViperOS
Resurrection Remix 5.8.5, Android 7.1.2. Been using this build since 8 months. More stable than a horse's house. See what I did there ?
Global beta 8.7.26

Try mokee, they build everyday but I prefer to choose release than nightly.

Viper-kenzo-20180711-Coral-v3.1.1-amog787_neonbilli-kernel.zip the most stable one?

No it does not. I always flash my builds to make sure they work before releasing them publicly.
So far so good, the only thing I cannot find is Wifi Calling. Being on Google Fi, it is a feature I rely on. When on stock, all I had to do was install Google Hangouts and the Wifi Calling option would appear in the Phone settings. However, that does not happen in this ROM. Any ideas on if Wifi calling is implemented here?

Exactly, I don't know why users think a ROM would come with ads. Not that its impossible. A shady person could definitely pre-load adware or malware but with the number of downloads these ROMs get here, we would know about it instantly. Good job on the ROM bud. Appreciate your time & efforts. I just noticed posts saying there were ads in the ROM when i know better & thought users would be afraid to flash. No reason not to flash this ROM guys go for it!
