Phoenix OS x86 Update causes cooling fan 100% - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Phoenix OS recently ran an update to 2.5.0.64- previous battery consumption was fine, but now it seems to be running full blast.
I haven't posted to the phoenix section because I don't have enough posts to not be spam
Main thing I've noticed is that the cooling fan is constantly running full out. Anyone know of a way to access the fan settings or something of the sort?
I'm dual booting win10 x64 and PhoenixOS on an Acer r5-571T laptop.
Alternative option would be to rollback the update if that's a possibility? Haven't found a way to do that yet without a recovery option. I also haven't seen a way to install a recovery for Phoenix yet...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Trouble using bootflags on 2.0

Hey everyone,
I am currently TRYING to at least get a USB image to boot before I decide to install on my hard drive. Since Remix is Linux based, I assumed that ALL bootflags would work, so I tried the usual "edd=off noapic modprobe.blacklist=pinctrl_cherryview" and the boot screen hangs on "Detecting Android-x86.... found at /dev/sdx". I've tried running Ubuntu 15.10, and it ran fairly decent.
Any advice would be nice.
Thank you
Acer Cloudbook 14 is what I'm running on, if it helps

Locked out of my Acer C720

SOLVED The problem was that dev_boot_legacy and dev_boot_usb had been disabled. Without getting into ChromeOS there seemed to be no way to set them until I found a guide titled "Workaround for battery discharge in dev-mode" (I cannot post links yet). It worked like a charm and I've just booted into Linux Mint off USB.
I've been running Linux on my Acer C720 since day one and I love it, but a recent series of events has left me locked out of it. I'd love to get it running again but I cannot figure out a way back in. I'll break down a short history and recent events.
Acquired C720 and unlocked developer mode.
Installed several flavors of Debian, completely removing ChromeOS from the SSD, eventually settling with Arch Linux.
After enjoying Arch for a year decide to try out Qubes.
Something fails during Qubes installation.
Boot into a Debian live environment from USB. Debian cannot see my SSD.
Try a few different distros from USB, but fdisk et al. cannot see my SSD.
Now I highly doubt that Qubes broke my SSD. It was probably already faulty but my Arch install was chugging along and not using the bad sectors. This is where I think I locked myself out, I don't remember the exact order of things but I re-enabled OS verification at the boot screen, and attempted to run the ChromeOS recovery from a USB. The ChromeOS recovery also failed. I put the SSD in my desktop and confirm that it was indeed dead.
So now I have a Chromebook with OS Verification enabled and no SSD to restore ChromeOS on. Bummer. But I figured I could try some things, so I booted into recovery mode with Esc-Refresh(f3)-Power and hit Ctrl+D at the Recovery Screen, success! I was able to disable OS Verification. But this has not solved my issue...
When I boot I can press Ctrl+D to be taken to a screen that tells me Chrome OS is missing or damaged and to insert a recovery USB. If I insert a USB loaded with Linux I am told "The device you inserted does not contain Chrome OS." I have no m.2 SSD to put into the chrome book to recover it and start the process from a virgin state.
What I'd like to do at this point is use the Chromebook running my OS from a USB stick, at least until I can afford a new SSD which will not be for some time. Is there any way for me to do this?
have you tried Chrubuntu?

I have, but I have no interest in keeping ChromeOS around. The problem is solved anyway.

Hacking a Chinese Android Smart-Mirror

Hi there! So I have a bizarre rearview mirror that my husband bought in China. It's a mirror with an integrated 5" tablet that is a mirror when off and a tablet when on. It came rooted. It's loaded with a weird, highly stripped down version of Kitkat, and there is no section in settings for developer options. There is also no area with build number, so I can't just tap that 7 times.
I've been trying to flash a new Android OS onto it, but the problem is, I can't seem to get my computer to connect to it. I got the thing into recovery mode, but my computer just sees it as an unknown device, despite my having installed the Google driver, the ADB universal driver, and a couple others, so I'm pretty frustrated. I must admit I don't know what I'm doing, as I usually work with iPhone and Mac. Anyways, can someone help me flash a new Android OS on here and get my computer to see the device in recovery mode to start?

I have been able to install PhoenixOS on the Ezbook 2, but WIFI works but I have no sound. I have not tested the drivers yet. It also ran as a DUAL OS and funny way I had no more Wi-Fi on Windows 10. PhoenixOS did not uninstall anymore and I had to reset WIndows.
Next problem followed right away, I get the boot entry from Phoenix no longer out of the system, it stays in the BIOS and I'm looking for a solution. Easy UEFI was no help, it always came back after deleting the entry.

Android X86 8.1 install troubles

Hi there people!
Im having sort of an exotic trouble installing android X86 8.1 on an older PC. This one has ASRock H61 Board (UEFI) and im installing on SSD as SingleOS. When installing from UEFI BootStick and putting Grub2 (in UEFI disabled Secureboot) there is in UEFI Bootoptions "Android..." As choosable option. Booting this, nothing happens but telling to put proper boot device. I dont know what to do now? Live version boots proper. HD install boots too, but only one after fresh install directly from setup.
Anyone got any hints??
Thank you!
