Hey there XDAers! I've made my way around the forum for a year or two now, but just made an account. I am working on a friend's Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (sprint), and trying to get a domestic unlock WITHOUT contacting sprint. I have found a tool called SSU (Sprint Samsung Unlocker, found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/sp...print-samsung-unlocker-unlock-sprint-t2928250 ) but unfortunately, the app fails to launch, saying "Unfortunately, SSU has stopped." Others in the thread have claimed flashing to 4.4.2 would resolve this, but I cannot find a flashable file for it that isn't behind some sort of paywall! Can anyone here link me to the file? It would be much appriciated!

I purchased the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G from Bell yesterday. As well, yesterday I bricked it. I blame myself for not reading enough on the device. I assumed the wifi root process was the same.
Today I got it replaced. I noticed that the model number for the Bell version of the Tab 10.1 is GT-P7500M.
Can anyone confirm which method I should use to root this device? And hopefully get CWM working as well.
I have searched the forum, and google to find an answer specific for Bell, but with no success.
Thanks

Bassboy_pete. I just got a Bell 4G GT 10.1 also. Did you ever figure out how to root the GT-P7500M?
Could you let me know i've been looking everywhere for this info and all google brings up are your posts.
i have the same model. rooted. Bell is no different.
Google [root galaxy 10.1] and you should find how. Very easy.
I've followed read this entire thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171089 and read the 30+ pages somewhere in there someone who had a rogers 4G model said the 3G method worked. I also read somewhere else on XDA that a guy with the Bell GT-P7500M tried the 4G method and made the device a paper weight. I also really want to backup this device before a mess with anything but as far as all my research i am doing CWR is the way to back it up.
yours or anyone help is appreciated. Not looking for a handout on what to do step by step just a push in the right direction. I won this device and want to keep using it but some things piss me off about the Bell version (really must GPS Nav have to stay on the device) also can't just return it to bell if i brick it since i won it and don't have a reciept.
UPDATE, Just did the CWM Recovery. Worked great. Just finished a backup. I'll try the 3G root as mentioned in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312538 then i'll update again.
Not bad for my first Droid Device just got it 3 days ago.
UPDATE: Used the 3G method for GTP97500M (Bell Mobility) works great.
also plunged in thinking I had read enough and not fully understanding all the variants, so ended up following some of the root instructions posted on xda which did not work.
Solution was this thread for Team Overcome
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275751
which has a stock restore, the correct odin and bootloader files and then both the Overcome Rom and a CWM zip.
All installed nicely, system rooted and custom rom installed.
I am on Rogers with the Tab 10.1 and my Galaxy S is on Bell.
I then flashed the OC kernel from doridbasement which also works fine -- just catch which version you are on
anyways, early days but these did work, others did not for me
Hi everyone,
I just got a new sch-I545 and build number MK2.
but I don't use verizon sim so the phone puts error non verizon sim and i think everyone knows it.
I tried to read alone what should I do to make it stop ( not as easy like the T-mobile version) but I got confused from all of the topics that tried to explain how to fix it.
so... can someone share a link to a guide that explains the all process including the root method that seems to be not as easy as in other devices...
( i saw only rooting guide and it seems that it will not stop this error
Thanks !!!:laugh::laugh:
Hi guys. About half a year ago I was rooting galaxy s3 and flashing KitKat ROM. The way Ive rooted it was by using some app from google play which needs internet connection to download and root your phone as well as download and install CWM recovery. Last week my friend asked me to root his s3 and unfortunately I forgot the app name and I cant find it anywhere on XDA where I found it 6 months ago. I know there are many methods for root, but I really really need this specific one. If anybody knows where to find it or the app name please let me know ASAP. I seriously need this app and any other root methods dont interest me. Help Please.
AFAIK all rooting apps got removed from google play so your only choice is to to it via pc
root system files

Have any of you guys found a reliable way to do this yet? Most of the links or guides I've seen on this so far seem a little be hand wavey in one way or another.
Also, you used kingo root to root it? It wouldn't work when I downloaded the apk, did you have to download it to your desktop?

Did you get it to work with google play? WHat ROM did you use, I'm unsure if I should use the GR3 (model TAG-L--) or the TIT-AL00 ROM.

Did you manage to get it working with google services?
I'm guessing the guys in this thread have either sorted the problem or no longer need the solution. However, if anyone else is in the same position, I'm just updating to let you know that I (with a lot of help from a friend) have got google play services installed and working on my phone. We used a combination of this thread which is the same process, but the device here is slightly different (TIT, not TAG) and therefore the CWM recovery file never worked on my phone. So using this thread, we were able to find the download TWRP instead (it links to another thread where you can download TWRP).
The entire process if fairly simple.
The hardest part for me was getting the bootloader code. I needed to contact Huawei consumer services (one of the European offices) and explain I needed the code. They told me I needed to contact the Chinese consumer services as that's where I bought the phone, they spoken very little English so it went nowhere fast. I contacted the same European office again and explained I cannot get the code via typing my info into the unlocker webpage, nor through the Chinese office. So they managed to get back to me after a day or so with the code (I needed to send a screenshot of the unlocker page failing to give me the code, along with the other phone info the unlocker page asks for).
Once you have that, just follow the guide for the TIT-AL00 (but with the TWRP recovery linked above). You don't need to root the device if you just want GAPPs. I have the device working with all the google apps etc, and didn't need root access.

As the title states, I'm trying to root my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge G925W8 (Telus i think?), trying to install custom firmware, trying to unlock my bootloader, etc etc. but every darn tutorial or resource I've found has referenced doing one or the other as a prerequisite or just doesn't work, and I really can't seem to figure out how to do any of this. I've gotten pretty much to the end of my patience with google so I ask for your help, anyone who is willing, please if you could help me figure out how to achieve all of this I would be extremely grateful
try twrp

Download the correct twrp from here
https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxys6edge.html
Flash twrp through Odin, once twrp installed and boots, flash the magisk zip through twrp and that's it. Very easy. You fill find the latest magisk here on XDA also instructions on flashing twrp
