My redmi note 2 keep shut down itself. - Redmi Note 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I use the latest stable miui 8 OTA, but it always randomly power off itself, after I boot it, it won't boot up, shut down again at mi logo. If I plug in the charger and power on, it can boot and show 50-60%. I don't know if it's because of faulty hardware or battery or software. This never happen if I use miui 9, pls help

I think the problem is the battery. If phone works ok while connected on the charger then its battery. Maeby it will help to clean contacts on the battery.

The problem is it never happens in miui 9, since it's an old phone, I think it's rather waste to replace the battery with new one, coz mobile accessories more expensive than the phone itself :crying:

If it never happened in MIUI9 then this rules out hardware issue. I think in few weeks stable version of MIUI9 will roll out.

It's difficult to tell whether it is related to the battery or not since it can be intermittent. I have the same problem but multiple batteries to test. It happens far more often with one battery than the other. I think the intermittent shut downs is a common problem with the note 2 and it is related in some way to battery power supply.

Redmi 4
I bought this xiosmi phone a few months back and it worked fine initially but recently, it keeps switching off by itself. It takes about 2 minutes to reactivate it and thus us very annoying. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem?

Redmi Note 3 won't turn on

Hello, yesterday I got my new Redmi Note 3. After hour or so using it, installing apps, adjusting settings and such I locked it and a minute later it didn't turn on (last time I checked the battery was around 30%). I've tried a lot of things: connecting it to my PC, holding every combination of buttons (just power button, just volume down, just volume up, power+volume down, power+volume up, I haven't tried only the volume up+volume down combination). I've also left it charging over the night using my Galaxy s3 mini charger (I live in Europe so I can't charge it here with provided charger) and still nothing, literally no reaction. Then HonorBuy's suport sent me an email that says I have to remove the sticker from the battery, it wasn't until they realised that the battery is non-removable that I have to close the back cover. Then they told me that I try charging it on the computer for at least an hour. Will that help considering that I've already charged it normally the whole night? Or do you guys maybe have some other idea what might be the problem?
I forgot, that hour or so when the phone actually worked, worked perfectly.
Thank you.
did you manage to get your phone fixed? im having the same problem. phone just died randomly.

I have the same problem.
Original Note 3, original rom. It just died and I can't get it to work. no reaction from phone.
Any ideas?
Same problem here . any idea?
Can you get into fastboot?
Power button + vol down..
Edit: Sorry, just saw that you have tried that already..
When I had a bad flash a couple a weeks ago my RN3 was totally dead like yours..
I followed this guide wich worked for me: http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=221115
Attention! All your data will be lost..
I'm aware that your phones was properly working, but maybe this is a solution?
Charge from PC USB.
Charge from PC USB.
A Quick Fix
I also got the same problem today...but i mamaged to fix it...Firstly hold vol down and power button...the device will boot into fastboot mode ...secondly after entering into fast boot mode...hold volume up + power for 10 seconds....now your phone will reboot ormally...Thats it...No big deal...
I had the same problem right after I connected the phone with an aux- it died and started heating up. I tried all the above suggestions except the reboot because I didn't want any data lost. All I did was put it in rice for 10 minutes, even though I knew rice is meant for phones when they've got wet. After 10 mins, I pressed the power button and it worked!
Hope it works for you,too.
The same problem is happening with me after I tried to restore a TWRP backup.
I can't really enter fastboot as phone is not charging.
I'm having the same issue with my Redmi Note 3 phone. Just opened it from the box, charged a bit and turned it on. Everything worked except when I turned it off again to charge it faster and later tried to turned it on.
The phone is now completely dead, no charging screen, and it's slowly heating up. Is this a manufacturing error or can I do something to fix it?

This happened to me too. I think I factory wiped in twrp and went from cm13 to miui then it stopped charging.
No amount of flashing fixed it. Fast boot, EDL nothing worked and xiaomi won't help.
I came across only few people that had this but they seemed to suggest some partition being corrupted going from CM to miui. I couldn't find details about which partition though, not very substantial claims.
I read somewhere that it could be a bug of the version of a specific TWRP, but without sure.
In my case, I flashed Xiaomi.eu with success on CM, and after that restored again CM.
CM -> Xiaomi.eu -> CM
I sent it to a (unofficial) repair center and they just flashed the ROM on my phone. Probably using pin test or something similar.

I tried all of that. I had about 80% battery when I noticed it's not charging so I had plenty of battery to flash things. I tried anything and everything that was suggested to me in the xiaomi forums but nothing worked.
Did you send it to an official xiaomi service center?
No. I just sent it to a local generic phone service center. I imported mine from China without warranty.

Well that gives me some hope. Where are you? In the UK the phone is rare so I'm worried that they won't know what to do with it.

I'm from Portugal and it is also rare her but they solve it in a few days with just a small price. Try to find a specialized smartphone repair center near you as it looks like a small issue.

Hard bricked I9300 International

Hello,
This morning my phone went suddenly off, didn't think much of it because it had 20% battery left and thought I had to recharge it but it didn't charge and I couldn't power it on, no LED lights when connected to the charger, no nothing, I tried restarting it in download mode but still nothing, it had a custom rom flashed, this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-ressurrection-remix-m-t3270121
Had cyanogenmod before this but encountered some errors and got this one 1 week ago, it worked fine except random restarts.
Tried a different S3 battery from a friend and still nothing, my battery worked in his, it was 0% but charging although very slow, just 8% in half an hour.
Tried different ways to fix it following these steps from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549068
Before actually going to a service shop and replacing my motherboard I want to know if there is a cheaper way to get it fixed, tried the steps above but with a 2gb card instead of a 16 one, want to try the USB JIG method but I don't know if it will work.
Any information would be appreciated
If the phone doesn't power on at all, a USB jig probably won't help.
I suggest connecting the phone to the original charger or a more powerful charger with the original USB cable for a few hours and see if it will come to life.

Tried the USB jig, but it didn't work, I don't know if the jig was done right because i didn't find pin 4 and 5, only two wires sticking out of it but I found a workaround and still nothing, left it 3 hours with the original charger but still nothing.
I'm really lost here, can a phone just brick/die by itself? it showed some signs before, last 2 weeks with random restarts and some random app's being deleted but besides that it worked fine. The custom rom was Resurrection Remix 6.0.1 so I don't think its galaxy's infamous SDS and the last time it was working it had ~20% battery left and probably restarted itself and never managed to boot. Found some cheap S3's with damaged display but ok motherboards, thinking of buying one and using those or going to a service, maybe they can Jtag it.
A jtag service may be your best bet, depending on the cost because a used replacement such as an s4 maybe a better use of funds.
It seems like it IS a case of SDS. Nand corruption is commonplace and easily done at any time.
Remove the battery and plug the charger in. If no response then the phone is as dead as.
Take it as a sign to upgrade.
Beamed in by telepathy.

Same happened with me some days back.
I had 66% battery left.
I saw the phones notification light blinking. By mistake I clicked the power button for longer than required and the phone vobrated but the light was still blinking.
I then tried turning it on by clicking the power button but nothing happened.
So I thought it might have gone into some kind of worse lag so removed the battery and again plugged it. Tried turning it on, nothing happened. I thought maybe it needs charging so plugged it but nothing happened. The computer does not recognise it either.
It doesn't get turned on and don't charge too.
I was on aosp 5.1.1 and everything was alright until then.

Thanks for your help. My s3 is really wild. Yesterday i connected it to my pc and kept it connected, after like an hour it turned on by itself. But i found out that many of the things were not working like music could not be played, video's could not be played and became slower than usual. After some time the launcher started refreshing itself(donno why) and finally i removed the battery again. After that it had not booted up till now.
Anothet thing i noticed was that the power button was not working, i had to turn on the screen by pressing the home button.
Anyways thnks for the help [emoji4] .

Device does not recognize USB, only charges when it is off, battery stuck at 82%

Hello guys.
I have a Redmi Note 3 PRO with Cyanogen 14.1.
Everything was working fine. Last week I realized that I could not charge the device anymore using my USB cable, I had to shut down the device in order to be able to charge, then after that I realized that my compuer (or any other) does not recognizes my phone anymore (only recognizes in fastboot mode) and last night I shuted down the phone and pluged in to charge and I saw that the battery was stuck in 82%.
I reflashed the Stock ROM after performing a lot of tests and the results are the same. Does any one faced this before? Thanks.
Note: my phone is Redmi Note 3 International (kenzo)

Your charging port is gone bad. No software can fix it. Hardware problem. So get it repaired from a mobile repair shop.
I was facing similar problems. My phone stopped getting recognised by PC. But it used to get charged, so I ignored the issue. After a few weeks, it stopped getting charged as well. So I got it repaired yesterday. Cost me Rs 700 which is around 10 dollars.

Charging Problem Xiaomi Note 4x

When I connect my Note 4x for charging by genuine charger or data cable with laptop, it is showing battery charging and within 1 sec got disconnected. This is happening continuously. I still managed to load it to 100% after a night. I use ROM - MIUI GLOBAL 8.2.4.0 (MCFMIDL).I tried different chargers and power sources too but all fails...
I connect the phone to my PC and I set change the USB Settings to 'charge only' ... same problem!
LATER: Steps I made to solve my problem....
1. I flash recovery twrp and wipe & reset the phone
2. I clean all data and flash a new ROM XiaoMiFlash, now my phone ROM is V8.1.15.0 (MCFMIDI) from Miui Global 8.2.4.0 (MCFMIDL)
Here you can view what's happen with my phone if I charge with my original wall charge. The phone wake-up I think at every percentage of charging
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJD7-cmWZrk
and here what's happen with my phone if I plug in on USB port of my laptop
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV1qA3-r-FI
Problem persists at 27.04.2017.
Is a hardware problem?
What happens if the battery reaches 0%?
Am experiencing same problem. Were you able to resolve the issue? How?
yesterday I have same problem, that is a hardware problem, just replace the connector charging to solved that.
Hello! I have the same problem. Has anyone been able to solve it?
I have same question!! Any have solution?
Just clean the charging port with alcohol and a tooth brush. If that doesn't work, repace the bottom PCB with the charging port and microphone on it (costs around 5 bucks).
hi i am also facing the same problem. is it a redmi note 4 specific problem? And the phone is charging while it is switched off. Is it a software issue? What about factory reset? Or has anybody having the problem tried any custom rom to check if the problem persists?
M facing the same problem .. constant irregular charging and disconnecting.. any solution?
Hi, I'm with the same problem, but my phone is Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Global (Snapdragon) - Global ROM: V8.5.8.0.NCFMIED (MIUI8).
Anyone has found a solution? My phone doesn't charge even when is turned off.
I received that only a week ago and now it is completelly useless.
The only solution is to replace the hardware? In this case, need I to replace just micro USB conector or the entire bottom PCB board?
I have Redmi note 4 Mido, my mobile not charging in all costom Rom but charging when use stock miui/beta miui/ epic costom rom
I don't know hardware or software problems
Please help anyone

Thanks a lot
I have a slightly different problem, i use stock ROM MIUI 9.0.5.0
My phone can be charged when turn on, but can not be charged when turn off either use adaptor or laptop's usb
But sometimes after fastboot mode, my phone can be charged when turn off...
That is MIUi 9 bugs? Is there any other solution besides reflash or reset factory...
Sorry for my english
For the love of God. Try to read before post a comment here.
People are telling you if tried with something to fix that problems and nothing works, you have to replace USB port inside of the phone. That is the solution.
Are you facing charging problems with Xiomi Note X Phone? If yes, do not try to repair it yourself. Instead, go to the nearest V Care mi service center in thane and the ask the technical people out there to help you with the problem. They will surely find a solution for your problem and also guide you as to the right use of the phone.
even i m facing the same issue when i connect my charger it show 100% if i ll remove it turn to 1 and get shut down immediately. i have change the battery even the charger jack than to i faces same problem

Redmi 5 Plus MEE7 Global Rom Overheating While Charging after the latest update

Hi guys
I noticed that after receiving the latest update and installing it about a week now, my phone is overheating a lot while charging, a problem which I never encountered before this update for about 6 months of usage.
Is it just me or everybody?
Every phone is getting hot while charging it, but if you are using it while charging it gets hot. Also it matters if you have QuickCharge charger or Xiaomi charger that comes with your phone.

Hi thanks for answering
Yes I have been using quick charge and I always turn off my phone before plugging it to the wall. But this happened exactly after the update. I hope that it'll settle by its own or receive another update to fix this issue. Maybe a Factory Reset will solve it, but I don't want to do that yet until I am sure there is nothing else I can do.

I think factory reset won't gonna solve that problem. Mayby try installing custom rom or change kernel if you have unlocked bootloader or just download Stock rom and install it using fastboot (also needed to unlock bootloader)
Btw I'm using quick charge and my phone gets hot but im not using it while charging due to safety and destroying battery life. (im on stock rom 10.2.1.0)
