Storage full, now phone won't boot - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I got the message today on the phone that it could not install updates because the storage is full. Then the battery died and now it won't boot up anymore even though it is fully charged.
It is stuck at the boot screen. I can only get into recovery mode that gives me a limited number of options (like 'appy update from adb' or 'wipe data' factory reset')
It is a Wiko model Ridge 4G with Android 5
How can I make it work again without deleting all my data ie a factory reset?

I'm afraid you can't get out of bootloop without factory reset.
If your device has a TWRP, you can install that and boot from it. From there, you can copy your important data to your computer and then perform a factory reset.

Process.Android.Acore and Gapps Crashing

Okay, so I have a CDMA Unrooted Evo 3D. A few days ago I had to bring it to Sprint to get it wiped since after the Sprint boot up the screen was showing nothing. About half an hour ago when I turned the phone on after I unlock I get the Process.Android.Acore and the Gapps process force closing. I have fastboot on since I was unsure if I wanted to root or not. Are there any alternatives to getting it wiped again at Sprint? I've tried removing the battery and restarting it.

If the wiping process Sprint does it only a wipe of data and not a reinstallation of anything, you have access to that same data wipe process.
The data wipe function will basically erase everything held on the /data partition of the phone. When the phone is turned on for the first time, ideally the /data partition is empty. This is how Android is designed. As the phone is setup, used, customized, 3rd party apps added, settings saved, etc, all of these things are stored on the /data partition. This centralization of settings/customizations makes it very easy/simple to completely reset the device.
There are two methods on the CDMA EVO 3D to access this data wipe function:
1) From Android mode, Settings -> SD & phone storage -> Factory data reset (at the very bottom). HTC added this feature to their Sense version of Android as I don't recall this being present in the AOSP version.
2) Using vol down + pwr, select recovery from the menu. Once in this screen, press vol up + pwr and it the stock recovery menu should appear. One of the options should be Factory Reset / Data wipe. This would be the option to wipe all data on the phone.
Hope that helps!

Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Stuck on Logo Screen

Hi, I recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and everything was working fine. A couple of months later, I put the tablet in airplane mode because I didn't want to drain the battery when I wasn't at home. When I got home and removed it off airplane mode, the device appeared to be frozen so I held the power down to restart it; this normally fixed most issues I've had with it.
Only this time, it boots to the screen with the Samsung logo and is just stuck there. I was wondering since I did root my tablet, is there any way to restart it properly without doing a factory reset which will cause me to lose all my data/apps, etc...
Did you try to restart device from recovery?
Could you please describe what you mean by boot to recovery?
Hold power+volume down, you will be directed to recovery, there choose reboot device, if that wont help try factory reset, or flash stock rom through Odin
Any solutions that would not wipe the data?
If not is there a way for me to access the data and save it prior to me doing the factory wipe like hooking it up to my pc and transferring the data?
I have recovery but noticed I never took a backup. I am wondering if I did a backup now and did a factory wipe; would it wipe out the recovery/root? If not; would I be able to restore the backup and get my data back?
I tried the wiping cache but no luck; still just goes to the logo screen and no further.

I had this same problem on my tab. However, I just got out of it using the RECOVERY mode as was explained above.
It will not wipe your data. Just choose the option to reboot the system and that will fix it for you. I had same concern about wiping my data so when I saw that reboot option, I selected it and it has helped to rectify my issues. My tab has finally boot completely and I'm once again able to use my tab.

[Q] XT910 stucks at boot, need data extraction (not rooted or flashed)

Hi.
I was using XT910 (with 4.0.1, not rooted or flashed) when the screen suddenly went blank (black) and after about 15 seconds the device restarted without promting anything. While booting, first comes Motorola's official red logo, and then Provider's logo and right at this stage booting stucks just displaying the latter logo without continuing to boot.
I was able to wipe out the cache, but it didn't help. I can reset to factory defaults, but I have critically important data in some applications and if I do so I'm going to wipe out everything.
Is there any way/solution to retrieve/extract or get an access to applications installed and their data in this case? I can even sacrifice the device in order to get that important data (no need photos or contacts).
Thank you.

[Q] Android encryption failed, factory reset doesn't help

My encryption failed, forcing me to factory reset my S4 mini :crying: But when I hitteed the factory reset button, it wiped my data (took a minute or so), reeboted, and I landed at the same screen as before. Also wiping cache, dalvic cache, and formatting /data didn't help
I've read severeal very old threads here, saying that you got to reinstall the stock firmware. Is this still possible??? Can somebody tell me where to get the right 3 part firmware for my S4 mini (DTM)???
How the encryption problem occured
HELP!!! My phone forces me to factory reset, but the SD-Card encryption key will be lost then!
I can still reach the recovery and got a backup from Titanium of all apps on my SD-Card (thank god I did it yesterday). But the SD-Card is encrypted, and the key will be lost in case I do the factory reset. I can still access the CMW recovery and even can backup the system (just /data is still not working), ADB is enabled. Does anybody know how to safe the SD-Card key/unencrypt the SD-Card?
PS. I still know date and time when I did the encryption of both storages
How the failture happened:
I started the unencryption progress, and went out of my room, the phone still plugged in.
A few minutes I came back, the screen was still black. It also didn't reacted when you pressed a key. I thought something went wrong and the phone shut down complety, so I pressed the power button for a few secs. Then it booted, but then I got the message that I got to factory reset my device.
It seems like the unencrypting has never started, but the device thinks it has started, and therefore fails to boot.
Bump
Please help me, all my game stats are stored on the SD Card and it would be horrible if I would loose them:crying:
Another bump
Other problem now, so I brought the thread back to the top

Problem after factory reset

Hi,
i'll try to explain the problem.
I use the Galaxy s6 SM-G925T and wanted to reset to factory defaults. The phone is in original state. So no custom rom, not rooted or any other modifications. The Battery has been replaced because the old battery had to be charged every 4 hours. Because the new battery does not lives much longer (maybe 6 hours) i wanted the factory reset.
First using the volume-up home and power button, i've choosen wipe cache / factory reset
Down the bottom of the screen was a text : No Support SINGLE-SKU - Supported API: 3 - dm-verify error
I continued and wiped the data
The system returned "Data wipe complete"
After the phone rebooted the system restarted, only to show the blinking SAMSUNG text.
I left the phone blinking for about 1 hour, nothing happened.
So i loaded the official systemfile : CF-Auto-Root-zerolte-zeroltexx-smg925f.tar
using Odin3_v3.14.1 i was able to flash it onto the phone.
After rebooting now the red android puppet showed up and the cf-auto-root program fnished without errors but the phone still wont start
Is the phone bricked or is it still possible to restore factory defaults and get the phone back to work ?
Thanx for all the helpfull answers !!
